Celebrate the Festival of Lughnasadh

Michael Conneely

Michael ConneelyThe Festival of Lughnasadh

The Festival of Lughnasadh is the festival of Harvest, celebrated around 1st August. Share in the preparation of all the Festivals of the ancient Irish with the Druid Forest School worldwide courses: www.druidforestschool.com/courses

Take stock: What talents have you harvested so far this year???

Honour your harvest. Honour those who support you: your Tribe. Honour the Land that supports you: your home and the sacred earth.

The Festival of Lughnasadh is the celebration of the harvest of our individual and our joint Tribal efforts in the year, so far.

The Festival of Lughnasadh is also overshadowed by the approach of winter. The Tribe has to prepare for winter as it celebrates the Harvest. The powers of Darkness must be defeated. You need your Harvest to weather any hard times in the future.

The main theme of the Festival of Llughnasadh was feast celebrating the successful reaping of benefits from the Land by the Tribe, the communal enjoyment of first fruits was the high point of the day’s ritual.

Lughnasadh combines key cosmic sacred themes of the Land and the Tribe. And for the ancient Irish, it was the transition from the culture of the Land (The Formorians) to the spirit of the Tribe (The Tuatha de Danaan), that underlies the Book of Invasions, and this was the difference between the two sides at the Second Battle of Moytura (Maigh Tuireadh), fought near our Healing Centre in the West of Ireland, in the Irish Iron Age.

At Llughnasadh, we hear the call of the new god, Llugh, that was the catalyst for the members and the gods of the Tuatha de Danaan, to value the manifestation of the special and individual skills of each of them, and thus be able to use individual and very special crafts and skills to defeat the more cloddish, vicious and less civilised lower-consciousness Formorians.

We each incarnate to burn negative karmas, and also to develop and manifest our own special unique special skills. Llugh is the catalyst for this. He thus calls us to bring in the harvest of our talents at Lughnasadh.

And so at Lughnasadh, a key theme of any celebration is recounting the call of Llugh for each member of the Tuatha to name and bring in his own special talents, as at the Second Battle of Moytura that the Tuatha fought against the dark Formorians above Loch Arrow, near here.

The issue is also our personal sovereignty. For the Tuatha de Danaan, their victory at the Second Battle of Moytura was yearly sealed by the annual mating of the War Goddess the Morrigan and the Good God, The Dagda, both standing astride the River Unshin where it flows from the Loch, to wend its way to its mouth at the Atlantic Ocean near Carrowmoor. Thus the sovereignty of the Tribe and its Land was sealed.

The issue is also about reverencing and relying upon the Goddess of the Land, she who provides, she who now rules as Queen of the Harvest.

And the Festival of Lughnasadh also calls us to value skills of communication, creative thought and breakthrough, just as Llugh used eloquent oratory to call each member of the Tuatha de Danaan to value themselves and their individual special skills. And thus the Celts linked Llugh to Mercury, but of course, there is also a lightning, revolutionary, fore-front creative Uranian dimension to him too!

And it is these words that inspire the people, win the Goddess for the Tuatha are the people of the Goddess Danu and the actions the words inspire that defeat the cruel blinding heat of the Sun, that defeat Balor: Balor of the evil Eye.

So, have a look at my Druid Forest School Courses and get in touch: www.druidforestschool.com

I look forward to hearing from you,
Michael

The Three Cauldrons Spiritual Vision Work

Michael Conneely

Michael Conneely & The Three CauldronsThe Three Cauldrons Spiritual Vision Work of the Ancient Irish Druids

The Three Cauldrons Vision work, also known as the Cauldrons of Poesy, is a supreme and wonderful healing and empowerment meditation and ritual of the ancient Irish Druids. It was preserved in a later medieval surviving manuscript.

We envision The Three Cauldrons with our body: abdomen, heart and head. These were called the Cauldrons of Poesy.

We use The Three Cauldrons to develop our good physical health, the mature and creative use of our emotions (including our most difficult emotions) and above all our Wisdom.

And when we attain our own special sort of mastery in all three of The Three Cauldrons, in all three of these areas of our life, in this incarnation, only then can we express our own especial spark of creation: Fire in the Head.

The aim of this vision work ritual is to achieve full creative expression of our special reasons for being here this time.

Here are three Videos working with the Cauldrons of Poesy:

The Druid Forest School is based in the far West of Ireland near Ben Bulben, Knocknarea, Carrowmoor, Carrow Keel, the Caves of Kesh, Loch Arrow and the site of the Second Battle of Moytura. We share the deep wisdom of the many facets of the Druid mystical practice of the ancient Irish and their sacred heritage such as the Cauldron of Poesy, the Well of Segais and the Cup of Cormac.

This Worldwide Course aims to work with key practices aimed to develop transformative understanding into the path of the Ancient Irish Druids.
You are sent information sheets and an audio about each practice or topic of your choice.
You  thus embark on a journey of healing and empowerment and vastly develop your insight into yourself and your life.

The Principal Stars: Altair. One of three stars known as Head of the Eagle, or the three footprints of Vishnu. The Sun moves through Shravana from around January 24 to around February 6 of every year.

Shravana Nakshatra Key Words: The Listener, learner, knowledge quest. Informed. Persevering and shrewd. Goal orientated, and this becomes dangerous if their goals are unwholesome. They need to tone down their ego and be careful to do the right things. Can fall prey to deception and bad advice. they often have organizational ability which can be used for good or alternatively for destructive or degenerative ends. Sravanas often carry a cunning but well-mannered, alert look. They are good communicators. Good in media. They do need to be careful of propagating falsehood.

Shravanas typically suffer troubles and disappointment – trust issues, especially in first half of life. They are sensitive and easily hurt. Thye can have feelings of inferiority that can be overcome with age.

Its heavenly basis emanates for seeking, which results in the paths, through which there is connection of all things.

Shravana Nakshatra nature is to be fierce and severe in a balanced way.

The ideal best spiritual path of Shravana is the way of listening and the gaining of knowledge.  This knowledge should lead to meditation (not only to knowledge of trivial facts).  The disciple may eventually become a guru himself who passes on knowledge.  This, therefore, is a meditative constellation.  Listening to the guru leads to becoming one with him and to meditation. Each Nakshatra has a special power or Shakti, the power of Sravana allows for connection. Uttara Ashadha Nakshatra 21

Michael Conneely

Michael ConneelyUttara Ashadha Nakshatra 21 and Worldwide Nakshatra Course

Uttara Ashadha Nakshatra is one of the wonderful 27 Nakshatras:
The Lunar Zodiac of Vedic Astrology. Uttara Ashadha Nakshatra spans: 26°40′ Sagittarius to 10°00′ Capricorn (Dhanus to Makara),

Uttara Ashadha Nakshatra is quite an uncompromising energy. It’s Ruler is The Sun – power, vitality, strength, leadership; its ruling deity are The Vishwadevas – The Universal Gods.
Uttara Ashadha’s symbol: Planks of a bed – not so good for marriage, not so comfortable, but a place to rest.
The Power animal/yoni: Mongoose – viciousness, speed.
Uttara Ashadha’s Motivation is Moksha – spiritual liberation. Its Caste is: Kshatriya, Warrior. Its nature is to be sharp and dreadful in an active way.
Translation: Mongoose means ‘unchallenged victory’. the latter invincible one.
Stars: The Four stars of Uttara Ashadha are in Sagittarius.

UTTARA ASHADHA Key Words:
Enduring, invincible, aggressive. can storm its way forward. Dogged persistence to succeed. Responsible. A challenger with a forceful path, who can have luck in the nick of time. Can be a lonely enduring path. Much more introspective than that the preceding Nakshatra, the showy Purva Ashadha. More warrior than Brahmin. They can get totally involved in their task. Can penetrate deeply into knowledge. They have innate leadership qualities and usually affluence. They are Law-abiding and religious, genial. patient, righteous and responsible. Methodical, sincere and calculating.

Note that 5° Capricorn is the exact debilitation degree for Jupiter, so the light of knowledge can be obscured as the individual becomes obsessed with paying karmic debts.

Jupiter rules the Sagittarius part of Uttara Ashadha, but Saturn rules the Capricorn part. Jupiter is about expansion, but Saturn is about contraction – and Jupiter is at his greatest debilitation in the Capricorn part of Uttara Ashadha. There is an energy in the Saturn part especially, of moderation and practicality, and there may be not too much hope, idealism or expansiveness. It is maybe a place for endurance and concrete action rather than words. Yet there can be misplaced idealism. Every error someone with emphasis in Uttar Ashadha makes is amplified due to the enormous capacity of this nakshatra to be of influence in the outside world. The emphasis here can be on concrete achievement. Nerves of steel. Exaggerated attention to worldliness or to power structures. Accumulation.

Basically, Uttara Ashadhas can have innate great integrity, and can be sincere, committed, ambitious. They fight for what they believe is right and practise what they preach. They often make advisors. Uttara Ashadhas have great stamina and constancy. If they are not fully engaged in a project, they can get apathetic.

They can be pioneering. They can be noted for a fresh start, honest, great insight, ambitious, but sometimes can fail to carry through

Uttara Ashada Nakshatra shows how actions are always victorious over ideas. Sagittarius preceding can be lazy, and idealistic about something that is not good.

The ruling deities of Uttara Ashadha are the universal gods that guarantee victory. It is where Sagittarius becomes Capricorn where hopes and inspirations become tangible realities.

Negativley, Uttarashadhas can be rigid, unbending, upholding. Can get self-centred and stubborn. Can have losses in early life, but more success as their life progresses.

N.B. Love Scripts of Uttara Ashadha:
This is the one of the 27 Lunar Signs or Nakshatras that has no natural mate, and thus is usually a very difficult life-script for marriage. Can have difficulties in marriage or sexual incompatibilities. The Uttara Ashadha symbol is the planks of a bed: an austere bed, not made for comfort. The hard bed reflects your austere attitude to relationships.

They like control so their partners can feel pushed out. Can go for material comfort and success, but not pleasure. They show stubborn, self-centred approach and can develop lack of interest in relationship.

Typically, Uttara Ashadhas can be composed and stoical. They tend to keep an emotional distance from others. They can have difficulty expressing warmth and love. Thay can have a difficult relationship with their father and this colours how they view love.

If Uttara Ashadhas are involved in something that bores or stresses them, they can become dull and lazy. There is a self-indulgent streak within them that defies your otherwise austere nature.

Uttara Ashadhas have complex Sexuality. The animal symbol of Uttara Ashadha is the mongoose. There is no female mongoose in the Nakshatra animal signs. For Uttara Ashadhas, therefore, there are no ideal partners. Often they have no instinctive understanding of your sexuality. To fulfil their spiritual path, they can have to learn to compromise on their sexuality.

Typically, to hide their lack of sexual confidence and low self-esteem, Uttara Ashadhas appear active and bold. If they fancy someone you make a play for them. You are fast workers and can get involved very quickly. But once they are involved, it can become very clear that they do not know what to do with their lovers. Not having an ideal mate in the Nakshatra system hinders Uttara Ashadha’s sexual knowledge. They can be passionate yet cold, self-indulgent yet ascetic. The right partner is one who accepts their intrinsic spirituality and makes them comfortable with their sexuality.

Uttara Ashadhas hate secrecy or deception so you set high standards for their partners and if they fail, can be very aggressive and will not wait till they have rooted out their dishonesty. They need to avoid becoming suspicious for the sake of it. And as they are plain-speaking and direct, they may not understand harmless wiles and sexual play from others. it can be that they can’t be bothered and choose to lead the life of an ascetic. In a woman’s chart, this person may opt for a practical marriage or marriage for money.

find their partners are too ascetic, boring or not much fun, especially if planet occupies pada 2 of Uttar Ashadha.

Favorable: Uttara Ashadha earns a good living; believes in charitable giving; brave; does well in foreign countries; good conversationalist; enjoys music and dance; good organizational abilities; ambitious, motivated to accomplish things and develop their careers; likes old and mysterious things; could be skilled in astrology

Unfavorable: Uttara Ashadha cane be self-seeking, aggressive; worried; capable of hurting others; makes up stories; deceptive in that they will either say what is not so, withhold information, or understate matters; don’t like to be told what to do; argumentative; too talkative; select mates who often are very different in personality and outlook

The symbol of Uttara Ashadha, a tooth, is a sharp thing and analogous to this Uttara Ashadha has a keen intellect, which enables him to see through the wrong ways of the ego.  The elephant is an animal with a great, positive strength.  A person in whose horoscope Uttara Ashadha plays an important role is challenged to use that strength.

Purva Ashadha Nakshatra Number 20

Michael Conneely

Purva Ashadha is the 20th Nakshatra in the wonderful, powerful and surely declarative 27-sign
Lunar Zodiac of vedic astrology: The Nakshatras.

The Nakshatras are the truly wonderful 27-sign Lunar Zodiac of Vedic Astrology that is such a sure declaration as to our emotional nature, our consciousness, our life scripts, our relationships and health astrology.
Purva Ashadha Nakshatra spans: 13°20′ to 26°40′ Vedic Sagittarius. Purva Ashadha is ruled by Venus and its Deity is: Apas, the Water God. Its symbol is: The Elephant’s Tusk, or the fan, and its translation is: The Former Unsubdued. Purva Ashada Nakshatra means “early victory”. Its Power Animal/Yoni: Male Monkey. Its motivation is: Moksha. Its Ayurvedic Dosha: Pitta, and its Quality is: Fierce.
The Principal Stars of Purva Ashadha Nakshatra are: An- Naaim. PurvaAshada lies entirely within the Constellation of The Archer: Sagittarius. It consists of two stars in angle to the third star: Kaus Borealis and Kaus Australis are in angle to Kaus Media. Hence the shape of the Archer’s bow or the fan.

Purva Ashadha Nakshatra Key Words:

Strength and Victory. Invincible: they smash through anything in their way. Proud, independent. Obstinate and can’t be influenced by others. The fan denotes superiority. Here’s a list of key words that Purva Ashadas need to often learn about so as to purify and heal their natures:

They have an intense conviction that they cannot lose and they have the ability to come out on top – and a times this can be misplaced or positively malign for the effect they will have on others. it is not an impatient energy; but it is implacable – and can of course be unrealistic or inappropriate. Fearless and controlling. Social climbers. Oratorical, obstinate and aggressive. They are full of their own opinions and judgmental

They are blind to their own flaws and in self-denial; they are often creative and talented. And they are noted for getting supported through many friends.

They are orientated towards Moksha or spiirtuality, but in their search for Moksha, they are over-expansive and their overexpansion and opinionated nature can crush or disregard others.

Their Pitta orientation makes them fiery and forceful, inspirational and charismatic.

Their rulership by Venus can so often tend them to pursue illusion and deception, and because this couples with their mental aggression, the resultant mix is unstoppable.

They tend to develop influence, ambitious and fearless, always improving, ambitious to improve their life situation.

They have deep emotions. They are philosophical, confrontational, angry, harsh.

As regards spiritual path, this Nakshatra can be formulaic and implacable, devotional but dogmatic. They can have a deeply philosophical or religious nature, but they do need to strip away their ego otherwise their spiritual path can crush others.

They have an ability to influence the masses.

Purva Ashadha can bring fame, wealth, fertility and wisdom.

They can have flashes of inspiration and insight. There can be phases or purification and regeneration. The meaning of life can suddenly be revealed to them. They need to maintain purity, but often a false purity becomes a supreme and destructive agenda.

If you would like to learn more about Purva Ashadha, and all the other 27 Nakshatras of the Vedic Lunar Zodiac, this is so worthwhile. It offers such understanding of people. it is the key to relationships astrology and health astrology and many other functions in birth chart analysis and prediction. Anuradha Nakshatra and a Nakshatra Course

Michael Conneely

Anuradha Nakshatra Number 17 in The Nakshatra System

Anuradha Nakshatra is the 17th Nakshatra in the wonderful, powerful and surely declarative 27-sign Lunar Zodiac of vedic astrology: The Nakshatras.

Anuradha Nakshatra spans 3°20 to 16°40 Vedic Scorpio
Anuradha Nakshatra people are faithful and devoted, but jealous and angry. They combine friendship with aloofness. They are good at putting people at their ease.
Anuradha’s ruler, Saturn, teaches them responsibility and restriction, endurance and facing pain. But Saturn’s rulership of Anuradha combines problematically with Mars’ rulership of Scorpio, and can make them passive, or alternatively erratically passive and rebellious.
These people are revolutionaries. Their original minds are melting pots for diverse knowledge and inspiration. They are very curious, including for foreign lands. They seek dharma and higher truths. They can have qualities of purity and auspiciousness. They can be very goal-orientated, and often align their goals smoothly to the universal plan. Determined, energetic, dominant. They have a strong appetite for life.

Here are some more perspectives into the Anuradha consciousness: These people are often balanced with understanding in  friendships. They can be co-operative, loving, popular, inspiring, successful. They gain respect. They are fond of family life, groups and organisations. They can gain fame through their friendships. They can explore The Universe along with their friendships, communities and associates. They can be good leaders and organisers, very focused, suffering with smile, sharing, sensual, open. Can assume responsibility and get work done. They succeed by any means. They like likes variety and travel. Anuradhas has a low frustration tolerance. They are charismatic, hard-working and brave; usually tactful but secretive.
Actually they are often promiscuous. They can give over-secretion of sexual hormones or irregular menses. They can over-eat and need to watch their diet. Be careful: because Scorpio is a Fixed sign, they can be very controlling.
Occult: They are often psychic and devoted to spiritual pursuits.
Kundalini and Karmas: They frequently have kundalini experiences and can practice kundalini. This results in the nullification of old karmas.
They can be spies.
They can work with numerology and numbers.
They progress through controlled ambition.
But Anuradha’s behaviour can shade into selfish, violent, cruel and vindictive. Thye can be untruthful. Their external behaviour can be deceiving. Sadly, they fail to listen enough to others and to others’ feelings.

If you would like to learn more about Anuradha, and all the other 27 Nakshatras of the Vedic Lunar Zodiac, this is so worthwhile. It offers such understanding of people. it is the key to relationships astrology and health astrology and many other functions in birth chart analysis and prediction. The Ruling Deity or Devata is: Agni, the God of Fire and Indra, the King of Gods and god of War, storms and rainfall. The Divine energy of transformation.
Vishakha’s Symbol is: The Triumphant Arch.
And most appropriately, Vishakha’s Power Animal or Yoni is: The Male Tiger (would you mess with this one???)
The Principal Star is: Az Zubanan – the Claws of Scorpio.

Vishakha Nakshatra – Keywords:

The poisons of past lives can be stored here. They can be aggressive, dictatorial and utterly ruthless. Obsessional, introverted and secretive. Fixation and decisive dedication. Their obsessions can burn them up and harm those dear to them. They are quarrelsome with loads of suppressed anger and hurt, bitterness and resentfulness. They are very easily angered! Their eyes are always fixed on their goal(s). Sometimes the goals are unwholesome. They are insatiable and the grass can always be greener on the other side!
But Vishakhas can slowly grow in influence and at their ideal best self-realisation, they thus ripen. They have to show Patience, persistence and determination. There’s a sense of ploughing and cultivation in their lives.

Favorable: Clever; has respect for intelligent and spiritual people; enterprising; self-satisfied; determined; gets things done; can appear soft but is very powerful underneath; sexually alluring; a good mate in marriage; benefits through marriage, traveling, and through change; mathematical talent. These people can be cultured and with dignity, influential and honest. Vishakhas at their best show good manners and become influential people. They can be religious or spiritual.

Unfavorable: Overly talkative; nice until they get what they want; negative, speaks negatively about others, fault-finding; not open to advice; offensive and not easy to like; greedy, deceitful, aggressive, domineering, quick to take offense, militant, suspicious, possessive, envious; feels obstructed and taken advantage of by others.

Key Guidance: For someone in whose horoscope Vishakha plays an important role, much depends on the goals he sets for himself.  If these objectives are self-centred, he may become unbearable for other people and may head towards the wrong direction.  Vishakha is always totally devoted in order to reach his goals.  He has great courage and ambition. The path suitable to Vishakha is the way of the warrior, like that of Krittika.  The Vishakha has to find out for himself whether his goals actually serve all of humanity or solely his own good.  The outcome of this will determine how this constellation will manifest itself: as a curse or as a blessing.

Swati Nakshatra and worldwide nakshatras course

Michael Conneely

Swati Nakshatra is the 15th Nakshatra in the wonderful, powerful and surely declarative 27-sign Lunar Zodiac of vedic astrology: The Nakshatras.

Swati Nakshatra spans: 6°40′ to 20°00′ of the Vedic sign of Libra in the Vedic Sidereal Zodiac.
Swati is Ruled by Rahu, the North Node of the Moon, but because the constellation falls wholly within Vedic Libra, Venus is also an important energy for Swatis.
Swati is a constellation focused on the blessing (or the curse) of balance: being balanced, yet becoming one’s self. Not easy combination. So, Individuality and True Self are the incarnational goals of Swati.

The shadow side of this Nakshatra is the self-centeredness they can go in for. They are thus both healing and destructive.
Rahu-Venus is a highly indulgent combination! Can like the finer things in life, comfort and luxury.
If you have Sun in Swati, this denotes a big problem for your life. Sun is deeply debilitated in Swati (Sun’s greatest Debilitation degree is: 10 deg Libra), so Sun in Swati denotes difficulties from the father. There is also lack of confidence and codependency, but also nervous reaction and driven independence against that!
Saturn reaches his highest exaltation in Swati. This thus creates a propensity for sowing seeds for the future and long term planning, even though Swati is balanced up with qualities opposed to that. And Saturn can bring much-needed discipline, persistence, strategy and structure to Swati Nakshatra.

Swati Nakshatra Video Below

The Ruling Deity for Swati is: Vayu, The Wind God, also God of the crucial breath of life, prana (Vayu is also the father is the courageous, virtuous, devoted and dutiful Hanuman, also the father of Agni = Fire), but also blowing this way and that! So Swati people can be agitated and destructive. Essentially, air bridges matter and spirit. They are ‘ideas people’: drawn to develop ideas which they can turn into material wealth.

The Symbol for Swati Nakshatra is: the Sword which they cut with both positively and negatively.

The Yoni or power animal for Swati is: the Male Buffalo – an unstoppable hefty but nervy hard-working force of willpower and anger – yes this is Swati energy!

Swati’s Motivation is: Artha (wealth and worldly comfort) – they are motivated to create these qualities.

Swati’s Guna Triplicity: Tamas, Tamas and Sattva

And Swati’s Ayurvedic Dosha is: Kapha

Body Part: Chest (can have breathing issues)

Gana: Divine (Deva – angelic, loving and accommodating)

The Principal Star of Swati constellation is: Arcturus

Swati often ends up living away from birth place, especially with Ascendant (Lagna) in Swati.

Swati Nakshatra Keywords:

They are much more Vata, nervy and sensitive, adventurous and ready to be spooked than people realise, and they are prone to over-running and panic and are restless, dextrous and roaming, so when they reach panic state the full ‘buffalo’ power animal panic and rush is seen. Traditional phrases apply such as the ‘good goer’ and the independent ‘self-blower’ who paradoxically is also delicate and tender. Symbolically, they are ‘a young shoot blown by the wind’ or a ‘new bud bending in the wind’.  Sometimes the Swati wind blows up to Tornado (at which times: run for cover). But there is also a ‘wait and watch’, and awareness that sometimes things need to fall into place (the Saturn influence) and a nervous ‘balancing up’ side to them.

Swati is the central Nakshatra balance with thirteen other nakshatras either side. This means that like Chitra, balance is a central life issue, and, of course, balance can be the curse of balancing up rather than speaking from heart-knowing, and balance can mean terrible loss of self. Thus, they can be arguing procrastinators, even though on the other hand (balance) they can be very open to the New. They are noted for being diplomatic (sometimes irritatingly so) and compromising (a double-edged virtue!) but can be sweet-speaking and compassionate.

They are seen as late bloomers, with the second half of their life more successful than the first.

They are eager to learn, restless, sensitive (fragile), doing business. but they are dedicated to their independence.

Musical, artistic, creative, intuitive and psychic, Swati is related to Saraswati and music and conducive for all sorts of learning whether material, philosophical or Spiritual and their rulership by Rahu makes them ready and eager to learn. The Rahu-Venus combined influence often brings an odd or unorthodox tinge to the artistic taste.

Compassionate, honest, intellectual courteous, Swatis are sympathetic, humane and very flexible (to the point of being accused of ‘low moral’). They have good business and financial skills and are good communicators. They are good ‘persuaders’ and are good at doing deals. They are good learners, knowledgeable, curious and flexible, vulnerable with survival instincts. they are changeable, restless and fickle. Over-indulgence can mar their lives. They can be wealthy. They seldom lose their temper and are fond of company. their mind orientates to division, cutting, flow, movement, swift attitude, an eye on the future,

Each Nakshatra has a special power or Shakti, the power of Swati allows for scattering like the wind. Its heavenly basis emanates for moving in various directions, which results in change of form, through which there is transformation. With Sun so deeply debilitated they are always looking for recognition. There’s a light, airy promiscuous, roaming-free, detached, observant quality which can manifest as bringing in change. Swatis are excellent for scheduling their communication. They are good at learning things, and have good memory and retentive ability.

If you would like to learn more about Swati, and all the other 27 Nakshatras of the Vedic Lunar Zodiac, this is so worthwhile. it offer such understanding of people. it is the key to relationships astrology and health astrology and many other functions in birth chart analysis and prediction. Learn Vedic Astrology : Enroll on my wonderful worldwide Master Vedic Astrology Course

Michael Conneely

I invite you to enroll on my wonderful worldwide Vedic Astrology Course.

When I first learned Vedic Astrology I was amazed that it so accurately predicted the unusual circumstances of my birth and the consequences of that in my life. It did this in a way that Western astrology didn’t and couldn’t. It did it in a way that Western astrology could not even touch! And this has led me on to years of study and teaching, many students and thousands of readings, the fruits of which I now share with you.

This does not mean that I think Western astrology does not have vast and numerous irreplaceably valuable powers and features: it does: Chiron and the outer planets, just to name two examples; its psychodynamic dimensions, its Evolutionary Astrology.

But it true to say that Vedic Astrology accurately and surely presents our incarnational life purpose, the circumstances we will experience at birth, and the unfoldment of our life – all with an accuracy and vastness that western astrology can not touch. Its capabilities for the astrology of health, the astrology of relationships and family generational astrology are immense, as is its sense of the huge cycles of unfoldment in which our lives are caught.

So, the techniques and capabilities of Vedic Astrology are quite literally awesome. And I would love to teach my Vedic Astrology Course to you. The course is carefully supported to take you from beginner to Master’s level.

And a special feature of my course is that there is a very clear backbone and direction to the path of study, and to Learn Vedic Astrology

1. The Planets: The first strand of the Master Vedic Astrology course approach is that we study Vedic Astrology planet by planet. We do this study with reference to focus on two charts: yours and mine. The nine planets of Vedic Astrology are:
Moon
Sun
Mercury
Venus
Mars
Jupiter
Saturn
Rahu (North Node of the Moon)
Ketu (South Node of the Moon)
But, in addition to these nine Vedic Planet modules, I also recommend that you additionally do modules on the four Western Astrology Outer Planets in our two charts:
Uranus
Neptune
Pluto
Chiron, the Wounded Healer

I give you links to my videos about each planet: A Presentation and then a Meditation Journey. So what you do is this: referring to your course guide material, to my YouTube Videos, and also very importantly also referring to your favourite Vedic Astrology books, you quite simply write about each of these thirteen planets, one after the other: first in relation to your chart, then to mine. This process keeps the interpretation grounded, caring and authentic because it is rooted in the lives of two flesh and blood real people.

2. Techniques of Analysis: The second strand of the Master Vedic Astrology Level 1 approach is that In-between your study of the thirteen planets one after the other, you cross over into working on my modules about Vedic Astrology Techniques. These teach you the vast provision of tools, techniques and meanings which Vedic Astrology provides. You work on the rule consolidation documents a section at a time, in between your planet studies. The course structure is as simple and effective as that.

My approach as your Course Tutor is based on the Oxford University Tutorial system that I myself benefited from in the 1960s. This is a system of skilled individual teaching that is designed to bring out the special spark and excellence of each student to the extent that they are prepared to do and sustain their work of study. My personal wish is to be as caring as possible as your Tutor.

3. HEALING and EMPOWERMENT TECHNIQUES: This is key. I do know from extended and deep personal experience and vast study that Vedic Astrology does not assist you in your life if it is taught at a level that is formulaic or fated or legalistic. I say it must generate perception that can be transformative. I say that it must be geared to healing and empowerment, and so our study is assisted by awareness of the many healing modalities used by my partner Maggie Pashley. See her website: www.maggiepashley.com.
See also:  www.bodycodehealing.co.uk , www.changeforlife.co.uk  and www.metamorphicwings.com

4. Visionary Techniques:
I do recommend the value of doing vision journeys to enhance your understanding of the nature of each planet. We can first journey to gain clear appearance of the pure or divine nature of each planet. We can then do vision journey so as to perceive how the planet manifest in our chart and therefore in our life, through the filters of sign, house and aspect – usually a very different entity from the divine nature of the planet. See: blog.starwheelastrology.com/visionary-astrology/  and blog.starwheelastrology.com/visionary-astrology-east-meets-west/

4. Avasthas: There is an optional third strand of study I do recommend you build in to this course at whatever stage feels appropriate, but after you have completed study of the sun in our two charts. This optional third strand is offered at no extra charge and is my Avasthas course, which is complete with Videos and full supporting collection of techniques Appendices. Avasthas are the most wonderful statement of the standing of each planet in your chart (and therefore in your life) and also how the planets in your chart treat each other.

Extra Study: Please note that you are also able to pursue and develop your own particular interests as you go along, if you wish. I am glad to support you in investigating topics that catch your mind into greater depth, all with my support. And you are supported and advised by me in a thorough, learned, wise, informed and helpful way that is genuinely quite different from any other Vedic Astrology course.

5. Videos and Blogs: I have prepared for your reference a Blog on each Planet and also a Video to present that planet plus a video Journey to meet each planet. There’s also a Blog on each Nakshatra.
please see:
Blog: blog.starwheelastrology.com/
YouTube: www.youtube.com/michaelconneely

Further Study: My Master Vedic Astrology Course comes in three Levels:
Level 1: The first level (this Level) is introductory, and this in itself can be vast depending on how much depth you choose to go into the study. In some areas, this course actually goes as far as some Level 3 courses I know. See: www.mastervedicastrology.com
Level 2: is dedicated to expert focus on the Nakshatras, the 27-sign Lunar Zodiac of Vedic Astrology. You learn the nature of each Nakshatra both from the sort of ‘novelistic’ perspective of meaning that so accurately depicts the personality characteristics of each person. And you also learn the meaning of each Nakshatra in terms of the depth spiritual unfoldment characteristic each Lunar Sign uniquely possesses. Moreover, you study the many key techniques of Nakshatra Analysis of the Vedic Birth and predictive charts that are quite unique to Indian or Vedic Astrology and are of genuine and unique utter power of declaration, analysis and spiritual understanding. These techniques include for example the use of Nadi Nakshatras and Special Nakshatras. See: www.nakshatrasadvancedcourse.com
Level 3: is the Advanced Vedic Astrology Course. Here we learn a vast range of higher analysis techniques like application of the Navamsha chart and mapping it into the Rashi (birth) Chart to assess soul-gifts/messages (Rashi Tulya) or expert analysis of the strengths of your planets (Bala) just to name two out of literally dozens. There are five Level 3 Course Options. See: www.advancedvedicastrologycourse.com

For my Western Astrology Course, see: www.enlightenedastrologycourse.com

I would say that unfortunately much Vedic astrology can be a matter of expert ranting through rules of interpretation that although they are complex, sure and valid, will do little or do nothing to generate your powerful, individual and true perception or assist in your personal healing and empowerment. They can lead to mentalism. Intellectual and formulaic consolidation of the rules of Vedic Astrology will not get you very far on your life-time work for this incarnation. Mantra can have a strong validity, but my experience is that they can only take you so far along the path you need and ought to travel. Remedies are fraught with problems and a new consciousness need to be brought to this area. For these reasons, I take my Vedic Astrology Teaching and Readings into areas of Healing, Empowerment and Transformation. The principle underlying my courses is ‘Applied Astrology’: the course involves using the perceptions of Vedic Astrology as a gateway to liberation and expression of your incarnational essence through use of linked healing modalities and empowerment techniques and other approaches such as art therapy and embodiment, as well as means of managing and stabilizing the Mind such as Mantra.

And a further principle of my Astrology Courses is that the true pinnacle perception, empowerment and healing of astrology actually comes from a combination of both Western and Vedic Astrology, where the branches of Western astrology that I especially teach are psychodynamic astrology and evolutionary astrology. For this reason, you are welcome to pursue crossover into the other astrology discipline as much as you wish as you work your way through the study of our astrology charts.

PERSONAL STATEMENT: I have studied advanced courses in both Vedic and Western Astrology for many years. I have an MA from the University of Oxford and a total of five degrees including psychology, sociology, counselling and teaching. I have completed an invaluable five-year university-based social anthropological ethnographic field study of spiritual forms new to the modern West, including Hinduism, Buddhism and Utopian Community. And I have also resided for long periods in a Hindu Ashram.

All these skills and qualities I now place at your service, as your Vedic astrology Tutor. I do this to further your own perception, to vastly expand your understanding, to promote your awareness and self-development, and to assist you to your enlightenment. I will enable you to draw on that immense ancient ocean of sublime understanding that is Vedic Astrology.

The Certificate Awarded on successful completion of the Course is The Master Vedic Astrology Level 1 Course.

At the foot of this Blog Post I set out the

So, I hope you will enroll on my worldwide course, and I look forward to working with you. All Blessings to us on this Journey.

Big Saturn Transits 2017 Really Important Guidance also including Uranus and North Node

Michael Conneely

On Midsummer Solstice 2017, the day, I am writing this Blog Post, there is a big Saturn transit.

Saturn Transits 2017

The effects will last until the end of November 2017.

In fact this is one of three big Transits in 2017, also including Uranus and Rahu the North Node of the Moon

For the second of three times in 2017, Saturn now crosses one of the three difficult, dangerous and very sensitive Gandanta Zones in Vedic Astrology. Though do also note that these Gandanta zones can also be inspired as well as difficult, dangerous or sensitive!

So, today, Saturn Retrogrades from the Vedic sign Sagittarius to the Vedic sign Scorpio. Saturn is at 0 degrees Vedic Sagittarius, then 29 degrees Vedic Scorpio. This is 24 degrees Western Sagittarius

On 26th January 2017, Saturn transited forward from vedic Scorpio into Vedic Sagittarius, but then he turned retrograde and today he re-enters vedic Scorpio, and will not get back into Vedic Sagittarius again until 26th October 2017.

So, this means, first, that today and the week or so either side, as Saturn actually makes the Sagittarius-Scorpio sign transition, you may be feeling very sensitive, depending on your particular birth chart details.

And do note ABOVE ALL, there is something much more MAJOR: we will all be called by Saturn to finish off. often MAJOR, DIFFICULT UNFINISHED OFTEN KARMIC BUSINESS AND ISSUES, that were raised all the time when Saturn was earlier transiting through Vedic Scorpio, in other words from 3.11.2014 to 26.1.2017.

These three Gandanta Zones are the two degrees either side of the three transition points from a Water Sign to a fire Sign in Vedic Astrology. So, these are: Scorpio/Sagittarius, Pisces/Aries and Cancer/Leo. Remember the closer the planet is to the zero point of the actual transition, the bigger the Gandanta effect on the planet (natally or by predictive transit). And note that as I am writing this Blog Post, Saturn is actually at zero degrees Vedic Sagittarius. The exact Gandanta hinge. Let’s now look at all three huge Gandanta Transits of 2017, and try to note what we should do about them.

The Three Gandanta Transits 2017:

There are three major Gandanta transits in 2017: I here assess their effects both in terms of the 12-sign Vedic Sidereal Zodiac, but also the wonderful 27-sign Vedic Lunar Zodiac: The 27 Nakshatras.

The three big Gandanta transits of 2017 are:

1. Saturn transits three times in 2017 through the Scorpio/Sagittarius Gandanta. As I said, in terms of the Vedic 12 Sign Sidereal Zodiac this Gandanta spans Scorpio/Sagittarius. But in terms of the 27-sign Lunar Zodiac, the Nakshatras, this Gandanta spans Jyestha Nakshatra (at the end of Vedic Scorpio) to Mula Nakshatra (at the start of Vedic Sagittarius). This is a severe gandanta known as Abhukta Mula Gandanta.

2. Uranus is transiting the Pisces/Aries Gandanta. In terms of the 27 Nakshatras, this Gandanta is the Revati – Ashwini Gandanta. This is 24 degrees Western Aries.

3. Rahu, The North Node of the Moon  transits into the Cancer/Leo Gandanta with two eclipses! In terms of the 27 Nakshatras, this Gandants i the Ashlesha – Magha Gandanta. The is 24 degrees Western Leo.

Here are the details of the three gandanta transits of 2017:

1. Saturn transits the Scorpio/Sagittarius Jyestha/Mula Gandanta zone three times in 2017. and Saturn will still be in this Gandanta Zone in November 2017.

And, as I said, in terms of the Vedic 12 Sign Sidereal Zodiac this Gandanta spans Scorpio/Sagittarius, but in terms of the 27-sign Lunar Zodiac, the wonderful Nakshatras, this is the transition today covers the space in the heavens from Jyestha Nakshatra (at the end of Vedic Scorpio) to Mula Nakshatra (at the start of Vedic Sagittarius).

This is a severe gandanta known as Abhukta Mula Gandanta.

Importantly, note that Jyestha Nakshatra is the end of the second materially-orientated ‘Tamas’ group of Nine nakshatras, but being on the transition point into Mula which is the first of the nine Sattvic or spiritually orientated Nakshatras, this raises a torsion challenge from Saturn. He has to change his duty form Tamas materiality to Sattva spirituality, and we will all of us feel this torsion.

Saturn crossed the difficult Gandanta Zone between Scorpio and Sagittarius around 26th January 21st June. He’s now re-entered Scorpio. But he will cross back into vedic Sagittarius for the final time on 26th October 2017.

This meant that when Saturn transits into Mula/Sagittarius in January 2017, there was a tide towards Sattva/Spiritualit, yet the Tamas or materiality tide will run now again from June to October 2017.

But is also means that, very importantly people will find that things left unfinished from Saturn’s transit through Scorpio from 3.11.2014 to 26.1.2017. and often these things will be very, very tough, because Saturn is Lord of Karma, and he is a severe planet. He seeks to call us to our spiritual meaning and destiny, not caring, of course, if this is tough!

And note also that there will be a Saturn-Ketu/South Node Exchange of signs or ‘Parivartana Yoga’ from 21st June to 18th August, when Saturn will be transiting Scorpio as the Ruler of Aquarius, and at the same time Ketu will be transiting Aquarius as the co-ruler of Scorpio. So, this could mean big effects in your life depending on the areas of life covered by Scorpio and Aquarius in your birth chart: what Houses they are in your birth chart.

Note that Saturn ceases his current retrograde and turns direct on 25th August 2017 when he is at 27 deg Scorpio 04.

So, what does it mean if we have a planet in one of the three Gandanta zones???

Note that for you natal Moon to be in one of the Gandanta Zones, in your birth chart, will have a very tough effect on your life as regards Mother issues; the nearer to the zero point sign transition point the Moon is the worse will be the effect in our lives. Indeed, to have Moon in the Gandanta normally means that it will be the case that the difficult Mother issues can’t be resolved, so your karmic challenge is to learn to live with them.

Note especially that for a woman to have Moon in the Scorpio-Sagittarius Gandanta Zone, which is called the Abhukta Mula Gandanta Zone, this is very difficult for marriage or for mothering issues, and for effects on how she will mother any children she may have or adopt, as this position for the Moon in her own chart seriously means that her Mother will not be there for her, her mother will not be there to mother her. And she may very definitely pass it on – unless she heals, if she can heal!

Indeed, if it’s a case of New Moon in the Abhukta Mula Gandanta Zone, this means it’s even worse, because both Sun and Moon are there in the Abhukta Mula Gandanta Zone, and there are very difficult father issues for the person there as well as lack of a mother who has a settled enough mind to mother.

But note in addition to these meanings for the Moon in a Gandanta Zone, that for any planet to be in any of the three Gandanta Zones in your birth Chart, means that there will be a very serious challenge to the solidity and nature of that planet in your life.

But please note that so long as that planet is not the Moon, then you can definitely do a lot to heal and empower the planet, and even better, you can learn to utilise the sensitive inspiration side of the Gandanta energy to fuel that planet’s healed expression in your life.

This is why in my Astrology Readings, and also in my Astrology Courses, I always teach astrology that avoids formula or fatalism, and is always geared to healing and empowerment.

Let’s move on to the Second Gandanta Transit of 2017: Uranus:

Uranus transited the Pisces to Aries Revati/Aries Gandanta Zone in 2017, first entering it in May 2106, and Uranus will still be at 0 deg Aries in January 2018, and won’t finally leave the Gandanta Zone until March 2018.

It was Uranus entering Aries/Ashwini 84 years ago that led to the burning of the Reichstag which was followed by the rise of Adolph Hitler that led to terrible World War.

I am not saying that everyone will handle the energy of Uranus entering Vedic Aries/Ashwini Nakshatra in the way that Adolph Hitler did, but some definitely will try to handle it that way. And i pray that coutries where there’s fundamentalist religion do not have a guru or prophet arise, as happened with Germany in the run up to World War 2. A Prophet could unite currently fighting fundamentalist states. It would just like August 24th  410 AD when the Roman Empire was wiped out because the Huns, the Visigoths and the Vandals united and they crossed the Rhine (which had frozen over) marshed South, destroyed the City and ended the Roman Empire. Is the West now also waiting for the Barbarians as imperial Rome was?????

But as i said, not everyone handles the energy of Uranus entering the Vedic Sign of Aries in the way Adolph Hitler did. And, indeed, when Uranus reached my natal Moon at 29 Pisces in 2016, I suddenly experienced revolution and emigrated!

Uranus will occupy the Gandanta degree four times:
28.6.16
31.8.16
8.4.17
2.1.18 (just short of the zero point)

But also note most importantly, there is also a very important transiting Jupiter- Uranus opposition: Jupiter in Libra will oppose Uranus in Aries, exact, on these three dates:

  1. December 27, 2016 at Western 20 degrees Libra-Aries (Vedic 26 Virgo to 26 Pisces)
    2. March 7, 2017 at 22 degrees. (Vedic 27 Virgo to 27 Pisces)
    3. September 27, 2017 at 27 degrees (Vedic 3 Libra to 3 Aries).

Uranus-Jupiter is a blessed exapnsion energy if it’s on top of one of the planets in your brith chart, and it’s good for the sign it’s in in your birth chart.

And now Gandanta Transit 3 of 2017: Rahu, the North Node of the Moon:
Rahu/North Node enters the Leo to Cancer gandanta. In terms of the 27 Nakshatras, this is the Ashlesha/Magha Gandanta. Tough note that the actual transit sequence is: Magha/Ashlesha. This is because the nodes have backwards/retrograde motion in the heavens. And this Nodal Gandanta crossing occurs on 10th July 2017. Rahu is caught up in the gandanta eclipse of 7th and 21st August 2017.

Rahu then enters vedic Cancer 18th August, finally leaving the last two degrees of Cancer which it enters, the Cancer/Leo Gandanta zone on 24th September 2017

BUT THIS GANDANTA CROSSING HAS VERY BIG COMPLICATIONS: There are eclipses there on 7th August 2017 and on 21st August 2017.

In the eclipse of 7th August 2017, Rahu is deep in the Gandanta at 0 Leo 32.

In the eclipse on 21st August 2017, Rahu is still deep in the Gandanta at 29 degrees 48 Cancer. Sun and Moon are at 4 deg Leo and Mars is conjunct Rahu at 26 deg cancer

AND. as i said, THIS GANDANTA CROSSING HAS BIG COMPLICATIONS FOR DONALD TRUMP AND THE USA: This eclipse Sun/Moon New Moon is right on top of Donald Trump’s Mars at 3 deg Leo and his Ascendant at 6 Leo. What will happen to him and the USA?

And this Gandanta Crossing and eclipse means that Kal Sarpa Yoga will re-arise. It was present during 2016 and into January 2017 together with two other terrible energies which saw British Brexit, The Death of Jo Cox and the election of Donald Trump in USA. Kal Sarpa yoga means that all planets are caught up divisivley to one side of the Nodal Axis. The first Kal Sarpa Yoga for 2017 began around 28.9.2016 with this first Kal Sarpa event ending 20.1.2017.

After the Gandanta crossing of the North Node, Rahu, I refer to above, Kal Sarpa Yoga re-arises a second time on 17.9.17 and holds in force until 8.1.18.
Kal Sarpa Yoga will continue on and off until 2019, as Jupiter and Saturn are on one side of the Rahu – Ketu axis, in fact it will continue until 14.12.2019 (date depending a little on definition). So, whenever the faster planets are also one side, Kal Sarpa Yoga will be created.
And by weird stroke of destiny, Donald trump has Kal Sarpa Yoga in his birth chart!!!!!!

Kal Sarpa Yoga creates divisiveness, paranoia, unrest, uncertainty and insecurity, and problems of management of the Mind.

Of course, it is so important to note that a more spiritually advanced individual can handle the Kal Sarpa energies, and so (as often is the case in Vedic Astrolgoy) a curse is found to be a blessing!

Spiritual Note:

In fact, the Gandanta Zones are portals where we can pass from this material realm and see that it is actually not as substantial as we thought, that it is in fact Maha Maya, the Great Illusion, and that the true reality lies beyond: that the true reality is the Shiva-Shakti realm, endless creative mating where the universe is sustained. Or it can be likened to Lord Vishnu dreaming in ecstasy dreaming new universes in and out of being. Or it can be likened to the dance of lord Shiva Nataraja, who dances encircled in flames, creating, sustaining, then destroying, universes in and out of being as he dances on the supine form of Aparasmara: the demon of ignorance!

Abhukta Mula – special footnote: The Gandanta at the end of Jyestha, as well as the Gandanta at the start of Mula which is the next Nakshatra, is a very bad place to have the Moon and is traditionally seen as a barrier for a woman to get married. I have known cases where certainly woman with Moon in Gandanta very much should not have got married, both because on what they do to their husbands, and because they can destroy their children and then look good nursing the wreckage. See more detail about Abhukta Mula above. This difficulty is created by the problems the woman’s mother would have been having at the time of the birth of her daughter, and because the daughter would have to go through predictive period change or ‘Dasa change’ very young: too young to be able to cope with it.

Gandanta special Note: HEALING AND EMPOWERMENT It is crucial that the foregoing observations about Gandanta placement of planets must not be used in a fated or formulaic way, such as harms so much Indian or western-received vedic astrology. All these instances are prompts for us to heal and empower ourselves, and this is the foundation of my astrology readings and courses. I work with my partner Maggie Pashley who is qualified in countless worldwide healing modalities.
