Jupiter Turns Direct and Future Life Progression Healing

Michael Conneely

Jupiter turns Direct on 10th July 2018. So how to get the greatest benefit from this is crucial.

But, of course, the information in this blog is of applicable at any time.

While Jupiter was Retrograde in the Heavens, our expansion, our Belief in ourselves, our Purpose and our Hope were all held back. Now Jupiter is more easily able to shed his energy into our life.

And this Post also looks at the great benefits of a Future Life Progression Healing. This Healing is a blessing to have any time, but it came through for me as Jupiter was turning Direct, and so that’s why I am writing about it now.

When Jupiter is manifesting fully in our lives, with Direct motion in the Heavens, we have expansion, purpose, belief in what we are doing, divine blessing and higher learning. And you can get an Astrology Reading or enrol on one of my individually taught courses to go so much deeper into this and more.

And to understand where Jupiter will especially manifest in your life, at the time he is turning Direct, you need to look at where Jupiter is transiting now in your birth chart. Please see this detial and more, below.

And of course, we are helped at this time because there is also a most beautiful Jupiter trine Neptune aspect in the heavens now.

So, lower down in this post, I set out a lot more detail of how to understand your Jupiter or any of your planets, below, but first of all, please watch the video, and then read about Future Life Progression Healing:

MAGGIE BEST JUNE 16FUTURE LIFE PROGRESSION:

I’d like to mention more about Future Life Progression Healing, now, that my wife, Maggie Pashley does. Future Life Progression is a branch of Hypnosis. You are asked to imagine or visualise a couple of scenes of your future life, one after the other, at two suggested dates in the future. You can imagine scenes say 5 yrs. ahead and 10 yrs. ahead. And this can give you such SURPRISING purpose and hope.

Please do note that we can be trapped into pessimistic/helpless life patterns now. This can be because we have unconscious, negative, suffering belief about our Future. And we may be unaware of this.

But Future Life Progression Healing can give us:

Hope
Expansiveness
Direction
Good Strategies

Even when difficult circumstances may be seen, we can learn:

How to understand the meaning.
How to prepare.
How to avert.
What changes may be needed in order to create a different Future for ourself.
Maggie Pashley can be contacted by email shown on her website. www.maggiepashley.com.

MORE ABOUT THE ASTROLOGY OF JUPITER:

Looking now more into the detail of understanding your Jupiter (or any planet), here is a mention of more of the astrological techniques involved, and of course you can have an astrology reading from me, or you can enroll on one of my astrology courses. For the Astrology of July 2018 see our Astrology and Healing Newsletter. And especially see my blog post on the powerful  Longest Eclipse of the 21st Century: The Lunar Eclipse of 27th July 2018.

I use both the western birth chart using Tropical Zodiac, and also the Vedic birth chart which must use Sidereal Zodiac. The thrust of the Western Zodiac is more our psychological unfoldment. Western Astrology is essentially psychodynamic (with special dimensions of Chiron and the Outer Planets and Evolutionary Astrology), whereas the thrust of the Vedic chart is based essentially on the unfoldment of our incarnational Life Purpose and Destiny.

So, for example, if Jupiter is transiting in your 4th House in your Vedic birth chart when he turns Direct, then expansionary work will resume on your home. Whereas if Jupiter is transiting in your 2nd House, then expansionary work will resume in the area of income generation and speech/expression. Whereas if Jupiter occupies your 6th House natally, then you could experience legal issues but also defence against disease.

It’s so helpful, in fact essential, to realize that the planets each have a Divine energy, but that we, ourselves, experience each of our planets through the three filters of Sign, House and Aspect. So, see my video journey: my Meet Jupiter presentation:

and this blog post: https://blog.starwheelastrology.com/jupiter-jupiter-transits-2017-jupiter-uranus-opposition/

Please note that I have one of these videos and blog posts for each of all the Vedic and Western planets.
For each planet I have a video journey to meet the Divine planet and contact and heal how that planet manifests in your birth chart, for students on my courses, as well.

And in fact, if you have an Astrology Reading from me or enrol on one of my Astrology Courses, I can also draw on really sophisticated techniques to weigh up how each planet will manifest in your life, and also how your planets treat each other.

For example, Vedic Astrology assigns strength scores to planets (Digbala) and Dignity scores (how the planet gets on with the plant that rules the sign he occupies in your Vedic Chart).

There’s also Ashtakavarga Score: How supported your consciousness and your life is for each of the twelve signs of your birth chart that a planet transits through.

There are also the wonderful Varga Charts (Divisional Charts) each of which says something so special and powerful about a particular area of your life (you can enroll on my wonderful Varga Course and study each of your Varga or Divisional charts, and learn so much about each special area of your destiny and how to heal and empower it).

And then there’s the Avasthas technique which is within my Foundation Vedic Astrology Course: www.mastervedicastrology.com and here we lean so much from the score for the standing of each planet in our chart and in our life, and also for how the planets treat each other: does one of your planets really boost another of your planets? Or does one of your planets really trash another of your planets?

Lastly, I would mention that Vedic Astrology has a magnificent and powerful declaration of Predictive Periods unfolding at predictable dates in our lives. In fact, these periods, called Dasas, are even more powerful than transits about setting the scene in our lives and predicting events. And so, if Jupiter has good standing in our Vedic birth chart, we will manifest expansion, inspiration, feel wonderful Purpose when we enter Jupiter Dasa. But we’d also need to check if any of our other planets would be harming Jupiter or cutting into him.

And we also need to check if our expansive Jupiter might be difficult to manage, for example, if we have a Weak Sun or a Gandanta Sun. If we have Chiron conjunct Jupiter in our birth chart, the energy of Jupiter that we will manifest risks being particularly glitzy, vulgar or over expansive. Saturn opposition Jupiter can really block our Jupiter expression and lead to unconfidence and self-doubt.

Lords of Karma Series Past Life Regression with Michael Conneely

I would be very glad to offer Past Life regression for you.

I personally have found past life regression work so worthwhile.

I myself have used Past Life Regression to great advantage, to learn about who I was in previous lives, and to see what gifts and what challenges for understanding and healing my past lives bring.

You too can benefit – and I do cross-reference to your astrology for guidance: your Vedic and Western Astrology.

Vedic Astrology is a powerful and accurate statement of your destiny and your incarnational life purpose. It’s peerless. It’s vast.

My Western Astrology is a statement of the psychodynamic issues in your life: your egoic personality and its unfoldment: powerful perception and powerful means for haling and empowerment.

You can select from two Past Life Regressions options: Either:
AUDIO ONLY:
I send you my past life regression journey audio MP3 file, for you to keep permanently for your permanent future reference. And on receipt of it, you listen, you do the journey, and you then report back to me by email how you got on. On receipt of your journey report, and I then cross-refer to your astrology, and email you my response, and then we can discuss this via email.
OR
ZOOM/PHONE-BASED JOURNEY PLUS AUDIO TO KEEP:
I offer you an individual live Past Life Regression Journey to you, through a shamanic drumming journey shared via internet or phone.
For this, we make contact with each other Via Zoom or phone.
When the journey ends, you tell me how you got on, and I then cross refer to your astrology, and we then share and discuss during the recorded zoom session.
You get the audio recording of this joint Zoom session afterwards. And you additionally also receive and keep for your permanent future use, my separate past life regression audio file.
The price for the ‘audio only’ journey is GB £35.00
The price of the Zoom-based Journey is GB £50.00

Learn Astrology Prediction – Wonderful caring expert Course

Michael Conneely

Learn how to Predict using Astrology. Learn Astrology Prediction !

My worldwide Astrology Prediction Course is very special – for the following five reasons:

1. You learn a full range of Astrology Prediction Techniques
2. You get individual caring tuition
3. You can study Western Astrology prediction OR Vedic Astrology Prediction, OR you can combine both
4. It’s learned.
5. You learn by focussing authentically on two charts: yours and mine – and that way the discussion is genuine.

See: www.advancedvedicastrologycourse.com/advanced-vedic-prediction

And Very Special Note: If you are wanting to Rectify your Time of Birth, you can do no better than do it through my Astrology Prediction Course.

WHY IS IT SO GOOD TO LEARN THE SKILL OF ASTROLOGY PREDICTION?

It is such helpful perception and understanding of your life ahead to have good understanding of the energies that will be entering your consciousness and your life in the year ahead.

Pt. 2 Video: Prediction Case Examples drawn from my Have an Astrology Prediction Year Ahead Video:

Let’s look at some practical examples:

1. Take the example of Rahu North Node transits the Moon in your birth chart in your year ahead: You Have Rahu in the heavens transiting towards your natal Moon. You see that Rahu will hit exact in June ahead. Well, that warns you to expect more obsessing or mental turbulence, etc. it wards you that you might have to handle weird dreams. It tells you that the turbulence will be worst in the applying phase but will then reduce after the exact hit. It warns you that if your Moon is unsupported in your birth chart, then the mental hurt and over-thinking will be worse. AND there’s also the more positive gift that (depending on other indications in your chart) this might be a good time to do shamanic journeying or healing, this might be a good time to engage in intuitive healing, etc,

2. Take the example of: you are in Jupiter Predictive Period or Dasha in Vedic Predictive Astrology, now: well that could be wonderfully expansive and give you needed purpose in everything you do. But you need to hear if your natal Jupiter is in the 6th House in your Vedic Birth Chart (Rashi Chart), in which case one of the things you need to be aware of is that you could attract enemies, so you need to think out really carefully of doing anything that may attract enemies, and then consider all the difficult issues of how you handle enemies in your life if you have attracted them! And is your Sun strong enough to handle a vast Jupiter expansion and direct and manage and contain such in your life now?

3. Let’s say Uranus is going to transit conjunct your Sun in the year ahead: well, be open to wonderful Revolution. Be open to inspiration – and this may come in ways you don’t expect, but take care not to be totally driven and hurt others.
And if you are around age 21/22 or 42, 64 or 84-year-old, then you will be experiencing your Uranus square or Opposition or return, and I can so help you be open to the best in that!

4. Individuation Age Pont and Nodal Age Point: And note that age 42 is the 8th House low point. And I use the wonderful Age Points: the Individuation Age Point of Psychodynamic Western Astrology, and the Nodal Age Point of Evolutionary western astrology, and when your 8th House low point is predictively activated, you will really benefit from a Reading to understand this huge time of life-change.

5. Saturn is transiting Vedic Sagittarius in the year ahead: this is Vedic Sagittarius using the Vedic Sidereal Zodiac. What will this mean? Well you have to look at what House Sagittarius is in your Vedic birth chart.
If that house is the 8th from the House occupied by the Moon in your birth chart, this will be Ashtama Shani: Saturn transits 8th House from Moon, and you really do need to know what this means and how to handle it!
And, another example:
if your Moon is in Vedic Sagittarius in your Vedic Birth Chart, well, you are in the middle of Sade Sate and you really do need to know what that means and how to handle it, and it is such a good idea to get a timetable of your Sade Sate energies from me to see: when are the really difficult times? when are the phases of ‘fool’s paradise times’? what does Sade Sate mean for you individually and particularly in your life? It’s a time of separations and despondence and being cut off from God’s grace with the divine purpose of thus being made to see yourself as you really are, and do something about that.
If your Moon in your birth chart is in Vedic Scorpio, then you are now entering the final two and a half years of Sade Sate. Learn how to handle that.
If your Moon in your birth chart is in Vedic Capricorn, then you are starting the seven and a half years Sade Sate, and you would do very well indeed to get a reading of guidance about that!!!
And note that if you are around age 28 or 59, you will be having your SATURN Return, and I can give you great guidance about that that means.

6. Jupiter is in Vedic Libra for your year ahead: well, you need to hear what sign this is in your Vedic birth chart. If its your first house, consciously cooperate with the energy of Jupiter by making strategy fro your expansive projection in the world.

7. Another example: Neptune is opposite your natal Venus: well make space to bring in the ideal love into your life, that your soul will be sensing and yearning for, bet beware Neptune has his dangerous side: the issue of money in your life could be dissolved.

8. Chiron: transits of Chiron bring up healing issues. Chiron takes fifty years to orbit the Sun, so if you are in late forties / early fifties, talk to me, get a reading from me to understand the healing of Chiron in your birth chart: the healing of your existential wound in the healing of which you can become the Healer of others. Your Chiron Return: the time when Chiron returns to his natal position and thus transits conjunct your natal Chiron is big. Chirosis!

3. What Predictive Techniques do we Learn?

Transits:
This is when a planet in the heavens aspects a planet in our birth chart now, or is transiting through a House in our birth chart now. We study the nature of the Transiting planet, and we study the nature of the natal planet or House that is affected by the Transit.

Progressions:
We study Secondary and Tertiary Progressions are in Western Astrology:

Secondary Progressions:
Day for a Year Progressions are a very reliable and robust indicator of what is going to happen in our life. These are also called Secondary Progressions. They are based on the principle that the chart for when we are one year old says crucial things about what will happen when we are in the year that starts when we are one year old. And of course, the chart of our second birthday predicts year two in our life, and so on. We note especially the position of the Progressed Moon, and what it aspects in our birth chart in terms of natal planets and House. And we note the effect of progressed Ascendant and chart angles, and progressed planets. This system works because of the fixed mathematical ratio between the Earth’s rotational period of a day and the Earth’s rotational period of a Year.

Tertiary Progressions:
These are similar to secondary progressions, but based on the principle of a day in the life corresponding predictively to a month in the life. These are powerful fine-tuning declarations, and are used in the astrology of death for example.

Predictive Periods: The Dasas of Vedic Astrology:
These are supreme and powerful predictors. They are unique to Vedic Astrology. From the moment we are born, a series of Predictive Periods starts to unfold, each period with a ruling planet, and there are sub periods within each predictive period, and each of the sub periods has a ruling planet, and there are sub-sub-periods within each sub-period. We learn how to assess what will happen when the ruling planet of each period/sub-period is activated, in terms of the standing of that ruling planet within our Vedic birth chart and also what the ruling planet is an indication of: The Karakas and Chara Karakas of Vedic Astrology.

Returns:
Your Solar Return chart is also a good indicator for your Year Ahead. This is the chart for the exact moment the sun returns to the position it occupied at the moment of your birth. It’s usually on the date of your birthday each year. The Solar Return Cart in Vedic Astrology is called the Varshaphal Chart, and is such a robust indicator of themes that will happen in your year ahead.

Predictive Age Points:

I teach two wonderful Predictive Age Points within psychodynamic Western Astrology, using Megastar software, and I supply the chart of these two age points in respect of each of us. There is an Individuation Age Point which circumnavigates the chart in 72 years, starting from the ascendant and moving counter-clockwise. It is an indicator of the energies we will pass through in our journey to potential individuation, in our egoic psychological unfoldment, learning about all the parts of our egoic psychological identity, and learning how to manage them and fulfill their highest potential. This Individuation Age Point moves counter-clockwise from the Ascendant passing through the houses and signs as it progresses. This Individuation Age Point does not only pass through the signs and houses in your natal chart, it also forms aspects to the planets in your natal chart as it progresses, thus activating experiences in your life relating to your scripts for the energies of that planet.
There is also a ‘Nodal Age Point’ which charts the call from your soul to you from the astral. The Nodal Age Point charts your soul’s call to you through dreams, subliminality, synchronicity, intuitions, impulses and visions. The nodal Age Point starts from the position of the North Node of the Moon at the moment you were born. It circumnavigates the rim of your chart clockwise, thus passing at predictable dates through your signs, houses and in aspect to your planets. Fascinatingly the Nodal Age Point so often declares a similar strand to your Vedic Predictive astrology.
The Individual Age Point is shown by the black cross in a circle on the rim of your natal chart
The Nodal Age Point is shown by the red cross in a circle on the rim of your birth chart.
The Age Point declaration is sophisticated in that it includes advance techniques such as ‘House Intensity Curve’ etc.

4. Western and Vedic Astrology:

My Prediction Course is unique and very special in that it offers the option to combine predictive techniques of both Western astrology and Vedic Astrology.

You don’t have to study both western Prediction and Vedic prediction, by the way, though many people love to. Others prefer to study just one option.

Modern Western Astrology is largely a psychodynamic and evolutionary framework, geared to our study of our ‘egoic self’, our psychological self, and how we experience things psychologically. And we use the Tropical Zodiac to study Western Astrology, which is based on the position of the Sun on the first day of Spring: The Vernal Equinox.

Vedic Astrology is largely Destiny and Life Purpose orientated, and our psychological self is but a part of our destiny, and not fully ‘real’ at that. Vedic Astrology must use the Sidereal Zodiac and Lahiri Ayanamsha for accuracy. The Sidereal Zodiac is anchored to the ‘Fixed Stars’: Spica in Chitra at 0 degrees Sidereal Libra. Due to precession of the Equinoxes, the Western Tropical Zodiac drifts in relation to the Sidereal Zodiac by a degree every 72 years. Currently the Western Tropical Zodiac is approx. 24 degrees apart from the Vedic Sidereal Zodiac.

The Nakshatras: And note that Vedic Predictive Astrology also gains vast declarative extra dimension from use of the Lunar Zodiac of Vedic Astrology: the 27 Lunar Signs: The Nakshatras, which supremely declare our emotional self, our consciousness arising therefore, and our path to growth to better managing and aligning our emotional self to our higher and more spiritual connection and our openness to God.

5. Which Planets Do We Study on This Course?

The thirteen Planets of both Vedic and Western astrology that are encompassed by this course, are as follows:

Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, Chiron the Wounded Healer, Ketu South Node and Rahu North Node.

6. The Focus of this Prediction Course:

As with all my Astrology Courses, each topic is studied in relation to two charts: yours and mine. The aim here is to keep the discussion real, grounded, authentic and caring, and to avoid ungrounded formula.

Natal and Predcition Charts: You therefore receive from me at the start of this course two sets of natal charts: yours and mine.
These charts will be in both Western and Natal Astrology and are drawn from four astrology software programs. In Western Astrology these programs are Astrocalc and Megastar. In Vedic Astrology, these are Shri Jyoti Star and Kala.

Other Charts: I am really glad to send you charts for family members in Western and Vedic natal and Predictive Astrology. I can’t undertake to discuss these with you within the framework of the Course, but I do find that giving students the opportunity to also take family members’ predictive astrology on board is a great and wonderful extension to their predictive astrology learning. If you want these, please let me know.

7. Predictive Reports – 2 yr. Period:

For your background consideration, you also receive from me two good quality computer-generated predictive reports for your year past year and also your year ahead in Western Astrology: yours and mine. These are generated using Soar Fire software

8. In what order do we study the planets for their predictive effects?

I find it is good to tailor the order of study to the individual student. And so, what happens is that I make a decision to prioritise prominent or important Predictive Phenomena that are happing in your or my life now.

So, for example, if you are in Sade Sate now, we would study Saturn predictive astrology first. If you were having your Chiron Return now, we would study the predictive astrology of Chiron the wounded Healer first. If you were experiencing a Uranus to Moon transit now, we would start with Uranus, as the first predictive planet to study. I always aim to make my teaching as individual, authentic and caring as I can.

9. Rectification of your Time of Birth:

The best way to rectify your time of birth is to try out the implications of different selected times of birth, to assess which time of birth most accurately predicts the timing event in your life, at the actual date that that event actually occurred.
We encompass this rectification of time of birth testing, where appropriate, as we work through the assignments of this Prediction Course, using different predictive phenomena such as Transits, Progressions and Dashas (Predictive Periods). We try out different times of birth in relation to a predictive phenomenon/method, to see which time of birth gives the most accurate prediction in terms of what actually happened at an earlier time in our life.
We can later fine-tune a Rectified time of birth through study of how different times of birth affect the declaration of our Varga Charts: the divisional charts of Vedic Astrology.

10. Your First Assignment:

We now select for first predictive phenomenon study: Transits.

And we also now select the transit of the first particular chosen planet.

And as stated above, we are now selecting one transit by this planet that has already happened in relation to your natal chart.
An we are also select a second transit by that planet which is yet to happen.

So, you now send me a prediction for both the past and the present transit of the selected planet, shown below, in your life.

And when you have heard back from me on this piece of work, you will then study a past and future transit by the same planet, but in relation to my birth chart.

To support you in this work, I send you our natal charts, also our charts for the moments of the two transits being studied for each of us,
PLUS two documents each with accompanying videos:
Presentation for the first planet of study: Video and Doc. Including Meditation journey to meet that planet in his Pure/Divine self, and also as experienced by us in our chart/our life through the filters of sign, house and aspect.
Karmic Presentation for the first planet of study: Video and Doc: My Lords of Karma Series, complete with presentations of many healing techniques.

And may I wish great Blessing upon all my students for our wonderful inspirational, healing and empowering work,

And I look forward to hearing from you,
Michael

Tantric Astrology

Michael Conneely

You can enroll on my Vedic Astrology Foundation Course: Master Vedic Astrology, see: www.mastervedicastrology.com and I will share with you the powerful declaration and ancient wisdom of Vedic Astrology, including the Tantric Nature of Vedic Astrology. (Tantric Astrology)

You learn this through depth study of two charts: yours and mine.

And you can incorporate Western Astrology crossover, if you wish. There are also more advanced courses that you can continue your studies with.

In this Video I introduce one facet of Vedic Astrology, namely that at its best it incorporates Tantric Astrology.

Tantra is the reconciliation of apparent opposites in that you can go beyond the plane of the apparent opposites to perceive that which unifies.

And this Truth of Tantra reminds me of the five years I spent, having already studied for an Oxford University MA and with post graduate degrees including sociology and psychology, from 1998 completing a Field Study: An Ethnography: a social-anthropological field study of individuals, institutions and communities pursuing spiritual forms new to the modern West: Hinduism, Buddhism, Paganism, Shamanism and Utopian Community. It was pursued mainly at Glastonbury, a spiritual centre in England, and it included a study of the development of Glastonbury over hundreds of years as a place of pilgrimage and a sacred landscape.

So, in a most important sense, where opposites are stated for your life by Vedic Astrology, this does not negate what is stated. It points to the fact that both are true, and that in exploring the divine perception of how apparent opposites are both true, we develop very sophisticated insight into our life. And this insight is such a sound basis for two very special features which are linked to all my astrology: namely: Healing ourselves and Empowerment.

Another facet of my course which ties into its Tantric Astrology nature is that in the Master Vedic Astrology Course, we study one planet after another (including the western outer planets and Chiron the Wounded Healer if you wish to add these). And we study them first in their Divine Essence: as Gods therefore, and then we study them as they manifest in our individual charts and in our individual lives: through the filters of sign, house, aspect etc. and this manifestation in our lives of course can be a very different matter from the divine, pure manifestation.

Let’s take Jupiter as an example. Jupiter is a natural benefic. BUT under certain destinies, he can manifest as a first rate malefic!
Let’s take the case of Jupiter placed at 1 deg Vedic Sagittarius, using the Sidereal Zodiac of Vedic Astrology (this is 24 degrees Sagittarius using the Tropical Zodiac of Western Astrology).
I’m choosing this because Saturn is transiting this Jupiter at the time of writing – and this is a further twist to the tale of apparent opposites because of course Jupiter and Saturn ARE opposites. So, the question is: how does the Native get them to work together???
So, this Jupiter is in his own sign (Vedic Sagittarius). And therefore he’s strong. In fact, he is in strong Mulatrikona status.
But: how do we square this with the fact that Jupiter will manifest in a weak and marginalised way because he is Rashi Sandhi or ‘edge of sign’?
But: how do we square this with the fact this this is Jupiter in one of the three weakening and insubstantial Gandanta Zones?
And in our example, this chart is a Cancer rising chart and so Jupiter is in the 6th House, which is a Dusthana or fallen house? Of course, on this point Dusthana Houses have the potential to be able to get better with age. But the 6th house IS the house of enemies. The 6th House is associated with Debt!
And there’s’ another twist to the tale. The start of Vedic Sagittarius is of course Mula Nakshatra. Mula Nakshatra (the 1th of the wonderful 27 Lunar Signs of Vedic Astrology) is ruled over by Niritti, the Dark Goddess. Some Vedic Astrologers see Niritti as ‘adharmic’ but this raises such an important point. If we adopt a tantric understanding, then a ‘dark goddess’ who overturns normality and tramlines can become our so much needed death and rebirth IF we can bring proper tantric understanding.
Of course, one thing we’d need to check into, is Jupiter’s strength scoring in the wonderful sixteen Varga or Divisional charts of Vedic Astrology. It’s really important to know how strong your planet is in each of the divisional charts: each divisional chart makes a priceless declaration about a special area of our life.
So, this Native has a Jupiter score of 16.8 across all the sixteen divisional charts, whereas the score for his Sun across all sixteen divisional charts is only 1.20. so, this crucial measurement points to the fact that he has a weak Sun, so this raises all sorts of crucial spiritual and practical questions of how a super-weak Sun can do his necessary task of directing and controlling a super-strong ultra-expansionary Jupiter?
Not only this, I can include in your course offering if you wish, study of the several systems of Avasthas: measurements of the strength of a planet in your Vedic birth chart and how your planets treat each other: so valuable! Movingly and breath-takingly insightful!
And then we need to understand the tantric point: yes, this Jupiter is STRONG, but this Jupiter is weak and insubstantial and challenged in that he is in the Gandanta Zone. So great spiritual understanding is offered by Vedic Astrology on how the native can understand and utilize these apparent opposites. Strang and weak! Both are true. This is tantric Astrology!
So: go to my Master Vedic Astrology website and enroll. And see that key dimensions of my wonderful course are that it is individually taught and focussed, and always linked to Healing and Empowerment needed potentials within the astrological declaration.
I look forward to hearing from you

You receive all needed charts for yourself and myself: the Vedic Astrology uses Sri Jyoti Star and Kala sidereal zodiac software Charts; the Western Astrology uses Astrocalc and Megastar Tropical Zodiac software charts.
Our Vedic Astrology is studied using the Sidereal Zodiac. If you wish for Western Astrology crossover that the charts we use are in the Tropical Zodiac.
My course is also accessible, individual – and it’s certificated.
And, optionally, and at no extra charge, you can cross over from our Vedic Astrology into our Western Astrology if you wish (including psychodynamic and Evolutionary Western Astrology).

The Course Content of my Master Vedic Astrology Foundation Course is as follows:
We study the nine planets of Vedic Astrology one by one: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Rahu North Node and Ketu South Node. You receive videos and extensive course material for each planet.
We study each planet first of all as a ‘divine principle’, then as how that planet appears in your chart and then mine, assessing its manifestation on various levels as it functions through ‘filters’ of the Sign it occupies, the House it occupies and the planets it aspects – and so we find that how the planet appears in our charts can, of course, be very different from the divine perfect nature of the planet.
And if you wish, you are so welcome to include in to your study the chief four outer planets of Western Astrology: Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. And, of course, Chiron the Wounded Healer – the statement of our existential wound, in the healing of which we can become the healer of others.

Study of the Planets:
We study the standing of each of these planets in your chart and also how your planets treat each other. We study planets in Signs, Houses, Aspects, Planetary Strength, As Indicators (or Karakas) for areas of our life, and we utilise the insight of various systems of Avasthas as an integral part of the course.

Study of Methods of Vedic Astrology Chart Interpretation:
In between each study, we also learn the Vedic Astrology key basic interpretation techniques, such as Malefic and Benefic nature of planets, Exaltation and Fall of Planets, Rulerships, Karma, Purushartha (the four aims of life): Dharma, Artha, Kama and Moksha; the Gunas (the three impulses of the planets): Sattva, Rajas and Tamas; The Elements, The Doshas (Kapha, Pitta and Vata), the Navamsha chart (the Divisional or Varga chart of your Soul, life-ashram and relationship) and introduction to Predictive astrology of Transits and Dasas or predictive periods).

Further Study Opportunity is Available.
You can go on to study of my more advanced continuation courses such as my Nakshatras Course, my Prediction Course, my Varga/Divisional Charts course and so on.

Very Special Course Features to the Master Vedic Astrology Course
Healing – Vedic Astrology, optionally including western astrology crossover can of course produce the most wonderful accurate and penetrating perception as to your destiny, incarnational life purpose, karmas, egoic psychological self, psychosynthesis and individuation. However, I make the point that Vedic Astrology is not to be studied in a fated or formulaic set in stone destiny way. It is always to be geared to our healing. For example, if we find that we have Gandanta Moon or Sun, this is valuable perception not least because it gives us an informed chance to utilize the perception and apply healing to our lives.
Empowerment is surely the true value of astrological perception. It is of no value for the Astrologer to state that ‘you have a weak Sun’, unless the declaration also includes sharing and consideration of ways of healing that sometimes devastating handicap that can otherwise blight your life.
Western Astrology Crossover if desired
Individual Attention and Tuition – this is the way I work. I do my best to support, assist and teach and help you to realize your ambitions in learning Astrology.

A little about myself as your Tutor:
I have an Oxford University MA. This was based in study of the roots of the English Language and Literature, for example Old Norse and Anglo-Saxon, Chaucer and Shakespeare, this included the philology of the development of the Indo-European peoples as they spread North, West and South across Europe and trough Asia minor into the North of India (I was taught by JRR Tolkien’s son).
My postgraduate degrees are in Psychology and Sociology.

I completed a five-year university based field study: an Ethnography or Social Anthropological Study of communities and individuals embracing spiritual forms new to the modern West, mainly in Glastonbury where I also studied the development of Glastonbury as a Place of Pilgrimage. The spiritual areas I studied included communities, institutions and individuals embracing Hinduism (based at Skanda Vale), Buddhism (Tibetan and Theravada), Paganism (including Wicca and Druid Path), Shamanism and Utopian Community (Bender sites around Glastonbury dedicated to ‘tread lightly on the Earth).

I live and work with my partner international Healer, Maggie Pashley, at our Healing Centre on the Atlantic Coast of County Sligo in the West of Ireland, close to Ireland’s most ancient sacred sites, international surfing beaches, W B Yeats Country and many mountains and lakes.

I hope this has been a useful presentation of my Master Vedic Astrology distance learning course and teaching methods, and I look forward to hearing from you,
Michael

The Dark Goddess and How to Work with Her

Michael Conneely

Why not enroll for this superb Mini Reading to help better enable your life:
www.starwheelastrology.com/dark-goddess-mini-reading

It is good to work with the Dark Goddess at any time. There is so much of our wider or obscured truth that we can learn from Her, and if we do we heal and empower.

But at the end of October 2017, Saturn crosses the uncertain Scorpio-Sagittarius Gandanta Zone and he enters Mula Nakshatra, which is the 19th Vedic Lunar Sign or Nakshatra.

And Mula Nakshatra is ruled over by Niritti.

And Niritti is the Dark Goddess: the Goddess of Death and Destruction.

Saturn and the Dark Goddess meet! They are such different gods, yet each of us has to work with, understand and benefit from this unlikely pairing from the endo of October 2017 until March 2018.

Enroll now for my ‘Working with the Dark Goddess’ Mini-Reading and we identify how you can work with Her. See: www.starwheelastrology.com/mini-readings

Here is a Video about how to work with the Dark Goddess:

So, Saturn is the stern Lord of Karma. Saturn is Lord of Karma, enforcer of discipline, hard work, patience and structure.

But The Dark Goddess if the shape-shifter and weaver who brings us what we least expect, but for our own good, and she calls us to be strong and look her in the eye.

Niritti is the dancing graveyard Goddess, whose gaze none of us can shirk from meeting with courage and truth.

Niritti is the dark apparently capricious bringer of Chaos, bringer of Death: bringer of death of what must now die in our life.

And so, Niritti is the sudden precipitous bringer of the new space we actually need now to allow in the needed totally new in our life.

Niritti dances all over our Saturn tram-lines. She shimmers shrieking into our consciousness showing us undreamt of whole new areas of rebirth and exploration, and she devastates now what must die in our life. In an instant, She offers us the chance to be strong! Her corybantic dance is the dance of death – and rebirth in our life.

Are you strong enough to gain her respect? Be prepared to work hard and be diligent, yet ALSO absolutely be open to the whispers and chinks and tsunamis of new inspiration, death of some of the old in your life, and change!

So, who and what is the Dark Goddess?

She likes Chaos. Her allegiance is responsible to something beyond Saturn’s Order. Above all, She wants us strong. And she wants us open. She actually loves us. But she will not accept our weaknesses or our evasions. And she rips up comfort zones completely!

Please understand: She is not at all ‘adharmic’. She actually calls us to greater Dharma. And she does this by tearing up the formulaic and controlled spiritual definitions. She doesn’t care much for mantra which can turn people into robots thinking that they are spiritual. She doesn’t care for the formulaic graded spiritual paths. She laughs at the constructed hierarchies and sects and in-groups. She rips these apart to let in the Light!

Can you benefit from this astrological perception now? Can you do the needed healing or empowerment work now?

For more about how these two: Saturn and Niritti, can possibly get on in your life, enroll now for my ‘Working with the Dark Goddess’ Mini-Reading

Do this as Saturn meets Niritti now!

Saturn transits through Mula Nakshatra 2017 – 2018

Michael Conneely

Saturn transits through Mula Nakshatra Through 2017 – Early 2018

From October 2017 to March 2018 Saturn transits through Mula Nakshatra (Mula Lunar Sign) at the start of Vedic Sagittarius. As you see in the Pt 1 video, this means we simultaneously have to honour the stern Lord Of Karma and duty as well as the Dark Goddess of Destruction and Inspiration: Niritti. And in the Pt. 2 video we also look at the huge and important effects for us as individuals that the change of sign of transiting Saturn means for people in creating Sade Sate, Ashtama Shani, Kal Sarpa Yoga and Gandanta: what do these terms mean? Their effects in our lives are huge and need to be clearly seen and understood. What Healing and Empowerment work may we need to do?

Saturn Meets the Dark Goddess (Saturn transits through Mula Nakshatra) from 26th October 2017. Saturn and the Dark Goddess are such different gods, yet each of us has to work with, understand and benefit from this unlikely pairing until Mars 2018.

Saturn is the stern Lord of Karma. The Dark Goddess if the shape-shifter and weaver who brings us what we least expect, but for our own good, and she calls us to be strong and look her in the eye.

On 26th October 2017, Saturn leaves the Vedic sign of Scorpio, crosses the uncertain Scorpio-Sagittarius Gandanta Zone, and enters the Vedic Sign of Sagittarius – at the same time entering Mula Nakshatra, the 19th Vedic Lunar Sign, which is at the start of Vedic Scorpio, and which is ruled by Niritti, the Goddess of Death and Destruction.

The Nakshatras are the wonderful powerful 27-sign Lunar Zodiac. They declare our emotional reality and consciousness and our capacity for growth. And Nakshatra 19, Mula nakshatra, ruled by Niritti, is the abode of the dancing graveyard Goddess, whose gaze none of us can shirk from meeting with courage and truth.

So, this means that Until 2nd March 2018, while Saturn transits through Mula Nakshatra, Saturn meets the Dark Goddess. And how opposite they are! They are Great Opposites:

Saturn is Lord of Karma, enforcer of discipline, hard work, patience and structure. He calls us to work on our Karmas and also to achieve the special spark and tasks we incarnated to achieve this time. Over time, he offers us the chance to purify!

Goddess Niritti is the dark apparently capricious apparently even destructive bringer of Chaos, bringer of Death: bringer of death of what must now die in our life. And sudden precipitous bringer of the new space we actually need now to allow in the needed totally new in our life.

If not, can you benefit from this astrological perception now? Can you do needed healing or empowerment work now?

For more about how these two: Saturn and Niritti, can possibly get on in your life, see this two-part video and then read on below:

Here is Part 1:

Here is Part 2:

But be prepared to honour both. Be prepared to work hard and be diligent, yet ALSO absolutely be open to the whispers and chinks and tsunamis of new inspiration, death of some of the old in your life, and change!

I would say that the three Gandanta Zones of Vedic Astrology extend for at least two degrees either side of the transition from Water Signs to Fire Signs. As Saturn has been departing Vedic sign of Scorpio, which he finally leaves on 26th October, he has been extracting his ‘last drops’ of his divine message from each of us.

We have had to feel the final pain of his message that he was bringing us as he transited Vedic Scorpio since 3rd November 2017.

Now he will be transiting Vedic Sagittarius until 24th January 2020, and he will now be calling on us to work on a fresh facet of our Karmic Task: offering us Golden Reaping if we can succeed, but we do experience suffering if we are off-course in our life for Saturn’s demands.

Things that had been on hold, even from last year, will suddenly be brought to closure. Be prepared for change as Saturn transits through Mula Nakshatra

So, what are these three Gandanta Zones? Quite simply a Gandanta zone is where water sign dissolves away into a sort of void – the other side of which is the first flicker of a fire sign. And the Gandanta Zone itself realises that the World is not as supportive, real and substantial as most people think. They are born into the insubstantial. They lack confidence. They fear failure. This is a spiritual challenge to them: to heal and empower and strengthen any planet in a Gandanta Zone.

If Sun is there, father was not there for them – but you can do something about his and eventually succeed. If Moon is there, this means that Mother was not there for them, and probably this can’t be healed, so the supreme achievement is to learn to live with that. If you have planets in the Vedic Scorpio-Sagittarius Gandanta, Saturn is transiting conjunct them now, and work hard to heal and strengthen them now!

So, basically, in summary, note that in the months around either side of 26th October, Saturn is transiting through the Scorpio Gandanta Zone, and he is offering hard learning and strengthening to planets that some people will have there.

And note also that Rahu, the North Node of the Moon transited from Leo to Cancer at the time of the 21st August 2017 great eclipse: and so, Rahu is aspecting Saturn from one Gandanta to another and this has created Fear.

And also note that Uranus is transiting Retrograde through the Aries Gandanta, and Uranus nearly reaches Pisces in January 2018, when he turns Direct. So, planets in the Pisces-Aries Gandanta Zone are also being affected now. It’s a time for learning in what way this world is not real, and for possibility of great inspiration, and bringing in revolution. Jupiter is transiting opposition Uranus now: be open to great change.

A very difficult feature is that the Kal Sarpa Yoga has re-arisen. Kal Sarpa Yoga is when all the Vedic planets are to one side of the nodal axis and are hemmed in by it. This formation creates divisiveness and treachery. The Moon is within the Kal Sarpa for half of every month, and then the Moon is outside the planets grouping the other half of the month. This creates potential instability of mind, with the Moon unsupported half of every month. There’s big spiritual challenge in Kal Sarpa Yoga. It was in the heavens for a long time in 2016 at the time Donald Trump rose to power; by ‘coincidence’ it is in his birth chart. It ran into January 2017 before it ended. And from the eclipse of 21st August 2016 it has now re-asserted itself!

So who and what is the Dark Goddess?

SAMHAIN OR HALLOWEEN: And by weird and important coincidence, this time that Saturn transits to meet the Dark Goddess Niritti, it’s the time of Samhain or Halloween.

And I am writing this blog in the West of Ireland where lie Ireland’s most ancient sacred monuments, and by coincidence, it’s near here that the Irish War Goddess the Morrigan, mates every year at Samhain with The Dagda who is the Good God, and whose symbol is his cauldron of plenty. And, thus, She confers Sovereignty and Victory to that which is good and strong. And this is the same message as Saturn meets Niritti now!

We have to be open and strong, and hardworking and diligent, and be prepared to meet whatever comes and change direction, in which case, She will give us victory, and we will be strong.

Weak Sun in your Birth Chart and in October, November 2017

Michael Conneely

Weak Sun in your Birth Chart and in October & November 2017

This Blog from Michael Conneely is all about what it means to have a weak Sun in their Birth Chart – and what do you do about it?

The Sun is the King of our Kingdom; he is the Divine Charioteer that drives the Chariot of Self.

Yet some people’s destiny is to work with a Weak Sun: so how do they heal this? How do they Empower?

And more than these Weak Sun individuals, this Blog also actually speaks to ALL of us –

This is because the whole world will experience something of the energy-state that is a Weak Sun for the month starting October 17th, 2017, when the Sun enters the Vedic sign of Libra in the heavens and transits there for a month.

And this weakness to what the Sun stands for is because the Vedic Sign of Libra, using the divinely-accurate Sidereal Zodiac of Vedic Astrology, is the sign where the Sun is most deeply Fallen or Debilitated, where the Sun’s qualities are most weakened – even trashed.

NOTE: Even if the Sun’s Debilitation is ‘cancelled’ in your Vedic birth chart (e.g. because your Libran Sun is also in your 1st House), NOTE NEVER THE LESS, that you may well be also capable of being Me-First, BUT you will also MOST CERTAINLY have the weak Sun scripts. So, don’t try to overcompensate for your weak Sun root traits, because they will catch up with you

What does a Weak Sun mean in our life? Here are Examples:

1. Lack of confidence.

2. The person whose been taught they should be the glove that fits the Other’s hand.

3. Inability to speak your truth, so even seeming deceptive.

4. The Sun is the King of our Kingdom, he has to be able to fare forth and do the needed tasks. Weak Sun can’t do this.

5. Co-dependency scripts can set in.

6. The Sun is the Divine Charioteer who drives the Chariot of our Self. In his hands are the reins that go to the horse that pull the chariot. The Horses are the other planets. The Sun has to be strong enough to direct them, and strong enough to chart the needed course in life.

7. Weaker Vitality. Weaker health.

8. Can’t cope.

9. Beaten.

– There’ll be these symptoms big time if your Sun is weak in your birth chart – in other words if you have Sun in Vedic Libra, or Sun in 7th or 12th house, or in a Gandanta Zone, or where your Sun is harmed by a malefic effect from another planet.

– AND ALSO everyone will feel something of this in the month starting 17th October 2017, while the Sun is working his way through the sign of Vedic Libra.

Also do Note : for Vedic Librans, at this time, there could be sudden expenses and losses due to planets in 12th House from Libra (Vedic Virgo)

So: What should I do during the weak Sun month starting 17th October 2017?

Hear this perception.
Act on it.
Listen to your body.
Listen to your Feelings.
Eat well.
Don’t push too hard.
Physical Activity.

What else can I do?

Well, there are various options:

Deity Work: Note that I teach deity work worldwide. Men can gain so much from studying and working with such Gods as Cernunnos or The Dagda. Women can gain so much by working with Brigit. See my Druid Forest School Curses: www.druidforestschool.com.

Healing and Empowerment Work: Do any Healing Work that is needed. Se the worldwide Healing website of my partner: Maggie Pashley: www.maggiepashley.com. There’s such genuine worldwide Healing Methods as: EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique, Access Consciousness, Emotion Code, Body Code, Hypnotherapy, just to name a very few.

Astrology and Guidance for October 2017 A sensitive time to be handled with care

Michael Conneely

Astrology and Guidance for October 2017:-
A sensitive time to be handled with care

October 2017 will be an unsettling even nervous time for many, and It’s good to have this detailed perception, so that you can manage the different areas in your life for the best, make the best decisions and finances, and manage your mind and emotions, and connect to healing and empowerment.

This forecast and guidance uses the Sidereal Zodiac of Vedic Astrology, but as ever with my astrology, the outer planets, the ‘Gods of Change’ and of course Chiron the Wounded Healer are included, and charts are given below in both western astrology (which is a depiction of our egoic self and our psychological reality) and also Vedic Astrology (which is a depiction of our karmas and life purpose, of which our psychological self is but a part).

Note that all my extensive readings and courses are given with complete crossover of Vedic And Western Astrology.

The underlying principle is that the perception offered by Vedic and western astrology is vast, but formula and fadedness is to be avoided. The value of the perception is that it must underpin Healing and Empowerment work, and with my partner Maggie Pashley we offer many Healing modalities both at our Healing Centre in the West of Ireland and of course worldwide via the internet.

  1. Saturn is making his final transit this year through the Gandanta zone at the end of Scorpio and into Sagittarius. Gandanta  zone is a space of insubstantiality where water signs change to fire signs, but with the offer of inspiration and need for healing. Unfinished business will rise to be dealt with. Saturn will extract the final drops of his demands. Unexpected events will force detachment or change. Our minds will feel the insubstantiality. With Rahu at the end of Cancer creating a trine to Saturn in the Scorpio Gandanta, there may be great sensitivity and fear. People with planets in any of the three Gandanta Zones, or with a Capricorn/Aquarius emphasis in their charts will have major changes happen. If our lives have been held in limbo, from November, we can move forward
  2. The Nodes: Rahu and Ketu cause division and challenge to mental stability. This is because the Kal Sarpa Yoga that started last year has re-asserted itself: all the planets enclosed within the axis of the Nodes. The world will experience its divisiveness and dark forces. Remain Grounded. Don’t let unsettled feelings have power over you. Avoid making decisions if possible.
  3. Sade Sate: When Saturn transits the natal Moon: Sade Sate is a difficult time when Saturn transits the sign before your natal Moon, the sign occupied by your natal Moon and the sign after your natal Moon. People with Moon in Vedic Scorpio, Sagittarius and Capricorn will be in different phases of Sade Sati. Exercise care. Handle the emotions. Take care with finances. Avoid getting over-tired or drained.
  4. Libra emphasis people have planets in the 12th house from itself, and also a debilitated Sun: You will need to deal with unconfident feelings of being weak and can’t cope or can’t prevail. There will be unexpected expenses. Make no financial decisions until November. Avoid overwhelm.
  5. Leo: There have been very difficult energies in Leo, including the recent 21st August eclipse and its ongoing aftermath, and people with malefic planets in Leo may have a lot to calm down from!!! Note that Neptune is transiting opposition Leo, so people with planets in Leo can experience some very negative &/or very positive inputs into their lives indeed as Neptune moves into the opposition orb of their natal planets in Leo. Understand the nature of Neptune (if you can)!

Key Guidance:
Remain vigilant.
Avoid making choices that may bring further disruption.
Keep your personal life steady and simple.
Remain grounded.
Don’t let instability have effect.

Planetary Summary:
Sun moves from Virgo to Libra.
Mercury Moves from Virgo to Libra. Mercury is Combusted by the Sun from October 9th to 31st. The next Mercury retrograde period is December 3rd to  22nd, with Mercury transiting backwards from Sagittarius to Scorpio.
Venus and Mars start off in Leo (and this often means fighting rather than passion!) then Venus move into Virgo.
Jupiter is at the start of a year-long transit in Libra bringing expansion, success and new horizons there.
Saturn moves from Scorpio to Sagittarius, and as the transition of 26th October is neared this will feel like an anxious battlefield. Saturn will transit Sagittarius from October 25, 2017 to January 23, 2020.
Uranus is very slowly retrograding through early Aries, into the Gandanta at the start of Aries, in Ashwini Nakshatra.
Uranus is opposition aspect to planets in early Libra, so if you have planets there you will feel the effect: revolution, inspiration or sudden change.
If your Mercury is in early Libra this could be very good for inspired learning, due to the fact that Jupiter is transiting in Libra which would also affect Mercury.
Neptune is transiting at 18 Aquarius
Pluto has now at last gone direct at 22 Capricorn
The Nodes have recently changed signs at the time of the big August eclipse: Rahu North Node went through the Cancer-Leo Gandanta and has entered cancer for 18 months; Ketu South Node has entered Capricorn for 18 months.
Check the affairs of the house in your birth chart represented by Cancer and Capricorn: the Nodes transit there will have major effects on the affairs of the House they transit. For example if Rahu North Node is now tainting your 1st House you may be more ambitious, independent and assertive (but remember that you must not neglect your relationship); Rahu transiting your 2nd House might impel you to overspend and eat badly, etc.
Chiron, the Wounded Healer, is transiting retrograde at 2 Pisces though just stops short of retrograding back into Aquarius before he goes direct again.

October Calendar:

1 to 14 October – Mercury exalted

5 October – Venus Mars in planetary war

8 October – Mercury combust until 31st.

9 October – Venus moves into Virgo and is debilitated there until November 2nd

13 October – Mars enters Virgo transiting there until November 30th

14 October – Mercury enters Libra and is Parivatana with Venus which is in Virgo: these two planets are in each other’s signs which can bring financial and emotional improvement.

17 October – Sun enters Libra and is debilitated

26 October – Saturn moves into Sagittarius: his second and final transit Over Scorpio Sagittarius Gandanta zone this year.

5th October: Full Moon at 19° Pisces in Revati Nakshatra.

19th October: New Moon at 3° Libra in Chitra Nakshatra.

As the Moon moves from inside the Kal Sarpa Yoga to outside it, watch for the Moon being unsupported and thus weakening or worrying or even de-stabilising the Mind.

Samhain/Halloween: At the end of October we have the eve of Samhain, the ancient Celtic Festival now called Halloween. This was felt in the wisdom of the ancient Irish Druids to be a time when the veils between the worlds are thin, when unexpected darkness issues forth, and the Festival of the Dead. It was the time for the ancient Irish of the ritual mating of The Dagda, the Good God with The Morrigan the War Goddess, thus the forces of bounty and plenty were defended and protected and given sovereignty for the year ahead. This annual ritual mating was told of taking place near the Healing Centre we run in the West of Ireland. The two great deities met where the River Unshin leaves Loch Arrow near here and flows to the Ocean, nearby.

Which Zodiac should I use -Tropical or Sidereal? A very special study opportunity

Michael Conneely

Here’s a very special study opportunity. It’s an optional part of a very long-established and caring individually taught Vedic Astrology Course: http://www.mastervedicastrology.com/

This Blog Post arises because there has been open discussion recently on whether Vedic Astrology should use the traditional ‘sidereal zodiac‘, or whether it should use the newer ‘tropical zodiac’ of western astrology, in other words which zodiac should I use

I felt quite sickened recently to listen to a YouTube video on this subject, which was pretty ranting and which forgot and ignored that Vedic Astrology is the expression of a most ancient spiritual path.

Vedic Astrologers must not use their positions as Teachers of Vedic Astrology egoically. So I wanted to share with you my considered and caring very authentic Vedic Astrology Course, where you can if you wish, optionally look with whatever depth you like, into the question of what is described by each Zodiac.

One of my earliest Tutors in Vedic Astrology in the 1990s used to take the line ‘there is discussion’ about a method, when there were two different views as to methods or settings.

So I wondered what has happened when ranting pretty egoic confrontation is used – a state of consciousness and communication that quite forgets the spiritual standing of the Vedic pathway, and is far from what it is actually about.

Of course, this unfortunate ranting is an expression to the recent very difficult position of Mercury following the September 21st Eclipse of 2017.

Mercury is in association with Mars, it’s caught up in a most major eclipse, it’s caught up with Rahu, the Sun, AND it’s in the Gandanta zone, and opposition Neptune.

And this perception should of course have guided astrologers to avoid the conflict which must stem from such a configuration unless one can make spiritual and healing utilisation of what Vedic Astrology perceives with this Mercury configuration.

But at least it brings the matter of zodiac definition to a head, and so what I am proposing is the optional incorporation of respectful and considered study of the which zodiac question into my course for those who would want this, and who ask the very appropriate question of which Zodiac should I use.

So, what’s all the unfortunate and regrettable fighting about? It is about whether it is legitimate to use the Tropical Zodiac of Western Astrology to study Vedic Astrology.

It’s about what Ayanamsha to use (the difference between the Tropical and Sidereal Zodiacs).

And it has huge ramifications into House systems, Gandanta Zones, definition of the crucial Varga (Divisional) charts, definitions of start and end dates of Dasas (Predictive Periods), definitions of what role a planet plays in your life (moveable indicators or chara karakas).

To start off, I must make clear my own position based on 23 years of the study and teaching of Vedic Astrology, as an intelligent guy, well educated, who seeks to be caring and to find the keys to the understanding and healing of my life, and the lives of others for whom I offer readings and courses.

With my partner Maggie Pashley, I run a healing Centre on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean, in the far West of Ireland, and of course, 90% of our Readings, Healings and Courses are offered worldwide through the internet.

In brief, I find my confirmed personal experience is that the use of the Sidereal zodiac with Lahiri Ayanamsha gives unbelievably accurate description of all the vastness that is measured by the framework of Vedic Astrology (essentially declaring all that stems from our incarnational life purpose and destiny). Whereas I find that the western tropical zodiac is supremely perfect for the crucial psychodynamic study of ‘egoic self’ dimension.

My personal experience and judgement is that I have to say that Vedic astrology’s use of tropical zodiac or Vedic Astrology’s use of other Ayanamshas, gives nonsense by contrast.

This is certainly true in terms of the birth chart it states, the derived charts and Predictive Astrology.

Sidereal zodaic plus Lahiri Ayanamsha gave an exactly accurate and life-changing description of my own very unusual birth circumstances, that was totally absent from western astrology. And it was this that first drew me to the use of Vedic Astrology, and my first teacher.

This is NOT to say of course that the methods and techniques used by Vedic Astrology Teachers employing the western tropical zodiac are invalid. They are caring and wonderful teachers.

Similarly, my personal judgement is that Vedic Predictive astrology requires sidereal zodiac and Lahiri Ayanamsha. If you use any other system, the start and end of your Vedic predictive periods (Dasas) will be declared with wrong dates.

Similarly, the Vedic astrology concept of Gandanta most certainly has vast validity: it has provided the meaning of my incarnation this time, and that concept of Gandanta is of course is lacking from western astrology and from the tropical zodiac.

However, it’s not so simple.

I feel we DO need to identify what dimension of consciousness and ‘slice’ of our existence the tropical zodiac does state when used with Vedic Astrology.

So, please note that I do work with students seeking to identify what exactly what dimension of self/consciousness/events Vedic use of tropical zodiac or other ayanmasha does give – if that is an optional dimension that they wish to incorporate into their course.

My heartfelt aim is that this study will give great insight to the world, once it has been given a few years to mature.

See:

So this Blog Post an invitation to work with me, on my courses, in a way that offers you the opportunity, if you want it, to analyse study and compare the two zodiacs and what they tell you about and predict for your life.

My Vedic Astrology courses are based on sidereal zodiac, but you can feed in a shared study of charts also using tropical zodiac, and thus over time a considered assessment can be made if what it is that the two different zodiacs actually depict and predict.

We can study in caring depth and in a considered way: what different facets of human consciousness and life. I provide you with all the charts you use and all the needed background information manuals.

The approach of my courses has been for over twenty years, that we study each principle with reference to two charts: yours and mine, and his keeps the anlaysis grounded, authentic and testable. It makes it mutually caring.

And a principle of my courses is that the declaration of astrology is never formulaic or fated, but cruciall (and this is its strength) that astrological declaration is always treated as an opening to healing and empowerment techniques.

All my courses provide opportunity for Vedic-Western astrology crossover, if you wish for that (or vice versa).

My western astrology is rooted in Psychodynamic and Evolutionary Astrology, and is augmented in my case in that my university degrees include psychology and sociology.

A helpful vast resource for my sharing with you, is that I also completed a five year field study. This was an ethnographic field study of spiritual forms new to the modern West.

My study focus was the paths of individuals following Hinduism, Buddhism (Tibetan and western), paganism, shamanism and Utopian Community.

The main study area was Glastonbury, an ancient pilgrimage site in England, but there was a comparator study in Totnes, and study residence in a Hindu Ashram in Skanda Vale (the cult centre of the UK Sri Lankan community in exile).

From this background I endeavour to support you in caring and experienced awareness of spiritual pathways.

A NOTE ABOUT PSYCHOLOGY – AND THE NATURE OF SELF:

As I said, I have a postgraduate qualification in psychology, and I feel it has a rightful pace in Astrology: for example, psychology seeks to express and define our ‘egoic self’, our nature and what drives us includes our subconscious and unconscious material.

My psychology degree in the early 1970s was divided between Freudian psychology and Behaviourism! (The two professors never spoke to each other, and you had to be careful to always express things their way and never get mixed up which one you were writing for! One of my other degrees was in sociology, also in the early 70s, where a main focus was ‘Symbolic Interactionism’:  the production of a sense of self through individuals and society projecting roles on us and producing meaning that way.

And regarding the ethnography I did: This was a five-year university-based social anthropological field study commenced in the late nineties. It was located in a Geography department. It’s focus was the production of self through landscape, including landscapes such as sacred place and landscapes of consumption patterns/meanings, and I especially studied the production of self through use of visionary/imaginal landscapes (e.g. Tibetan Buddhism, Hinduism, paganism and shamanism).

The nature of self has been a big theme in my life (my Sun is most deeply fallen at 1 Vedic Libra and it’s conjunct Ketu, what else would you expect?)

Indeed, my first postgraduate degree at Oxford University, where as a poor grammar school boy I won a prestigious scholarship in the late 60s to be sneered at there as a ‘scribbler’ by the rest of the students from the elite English Public Schools. My MA there was focused on W B Yeats and T S Eliot as ‘prophets of a new age’ and I studied how W B Yeats worked with Lady Gregory at the Celtic Revival, thus opening to the God Realm for sense for self, similarly to ancient Greece, Babylon and the Vedic culture, for examples. I studied Jessie Weston’s From Ritual to Romance and the Omega Point of Teilhard de Chardin. And now I live close to W B Yeats’ grave in the west of Ireland. My birth family on my mother’s side comes from near here. My birth father’s heredity is from the Yakut: a shamanic people living on the shores of the north polar sea – hence all the shamanic healing I teach!

A major feeling I now get, is how our sense of self is produced from our family and society, but how very powerful currents most certainly also run in the form of destinies.

These destinies are indeed very often astrologically predictable. Though they should not be treated as fated and incapable of being healed. And Vedic Astrology can state them supremely well.

Though, crucially, I also do feel that a new consciousness is arising in the world, and Vedic Astrology has to leave behind formulaic ranting and fatedness and ineffectual ‘Remedies’, and add to its supreme and sure vastness, the new consciousness that is arising: the new consciousness of Healing and Empowerment.

ZODIACS – SOME QUESTION AND ANSWER DISCUSSION:

To illustrate the issues raised by the ‘Which Zodiac?’ Question, I now show extracts with a discussion I held with ‘J’ and I hope these extracts illustrate the way I seek to have a caring, individualised approach with my students over the last 23 years, as well as providing ‘windows’ on the ‘Which Zodiac?’ Question:

Here are some of the Questions ‘J’ raised with me (shown with kind permission – J’s questions are in bold):

Q. A.“What meaning do the solar signs have other than a shortcut to referencing a ‘composite energy’ of the lunar signs?”

The Nakshatras, the Vedic lunar signs, depict our emotional nature, motivations and scripts (sublime, warts and all) and also the sort of growth we can hopefully make in this life.
Q. B.E.g., am I a Libra ascendant with ruler Venus, or am *really* a Swati Nakshatra ascendant with lord Rahu?
Overall, you will project into the world like a Libran, indeed ruled by Lagnesha Venus, and so we need to assess the standing of Venus in your chart in terms of dignity and the various Avasthas: Avasthas wonderfully state Venus’ standing and how the other planets treat your Venus and vice versa. They are a crucial key as to the qualities and strength with which you assert in the world. However, the emotional play around which your assertion into the world will by typically Rahu within the Libran framework, with all the over-running and nervy scatter of Swati, etc.
Q. C. Does “Scorpio” really exist without its Nakshatras?   It’s measured in space as being 6º, and yet we treat it as 30º, which has always puzzled me.
It is important to note that the sidereal signs are one twelfth of the zodiac, and thus take their energy and name from the constellation that falls within their space on the ecliptic. It is not relevant that the stars of the constellation do not exactlty fit the sign. The sign system works nevertheless. And of course, as you know, the sign energy is modified by Nakshatras and padas falling within the sign.
D. At one point it was “just the Nakshatras.”  Then the signs followed as a sort of superimposition of these solar sector divisions(?)
I think the signs are to be seen as not a superimposition onto the Nakshatras, but in fact a different measurement of the ecliptic, actually measuring a different dimension of self than the nakshatras, and coming later in time than the nakshatras, and reflecting later changes in consciousness.
Q. D.My Saturn is now transiting from “Scorpio” to “Sagittarius (20th Septemebr 2017}.” From my “2nd house” to my “3rd house.”   This might cause someone to be “optimistic.”  Saturn mahadasha has been an abject hell for me since May of last year.  A new “sign transit from Scorpio to Sagittarius” I’m told from an Indian Vedic astrologer is very good.
Interpretation of the mahadasha manifestation of Saturn needs to be based on the standing of Saturn in your Rashi chart and Varga (divisional) charts. And in fact the timing of Saturn Dasa will activate the energy of Saturn in the various different areas of life that each Varga chart represents. You’d need to individually evaluate your 2nd and 3rd House to say whether each transit would be ‘very good’ or otherwise. We’d be looking at Saturn Avasthas and Saturn’s standing in the Divisional charts, and what House Cusps fall where in your Divisional Charts.

Q. E.But in reality, isn’t Saturn just transiting from Jyestha to Mula. And Mula is a horror flick?  So what kind of hope is there in saying “Sagittarius” if it’s really just a “placeholder for the ~3 nakshatras that carry the weight (of its definition)?”

Mula is not a ‘horror flick’. For a bit about Mula, see:

Sagittarius is not a placeholder for the three Nakshatras that also occupy its space. Signs and Nakshatras measure different dimensions or slices of our nature, of our ‘self’ of our destiny this time. The Houses each declare a different area of our life. So Saturn in Sagittarius measures a different dimension of you that does Saturn in 3rd House, as does Saturn in Mula. For Saturn in Mula you’d need to look at the role of Ketu (Mula’s ruler) in your birth chart.

Q. F. I have much difficulty utilizing blank space as a starting point for scientific definitions.  Is this a science, albeit hidden, or is it fantasy? Saturn transiting the star Spica” for example, works for me 100% .  Spica exists.  Saturn exists.  One moves in front of the other.  They’ve observed over millennia it means something when this happens.  We’re talking about real things in space and time.
“Saturn transiting the Nakshatra Mula.”  That kind of works for me, like 90%.  Mula is the name of a group of stars.  There is a zone of energy “bracketing” those stars.  The “amalgamated energy means something.”
“Saturn transiting Sagittarius.”  This works for me like 40%.  “Sagittarius” came “way later.”  Is it the amalgamation of the energies of 3 nakshatras?  Oh my.
1
/12 of the zodiac is 1/12 of the ecliptic = why is it special and what intellectual authority is there to bracket this space, call it something, assign a “ruler?”

As Jupiter transits my Sun and then yours, we meet beyond formula and astrological rant to share wisdom and its enlargement.

I feel cautious of the term ‘intellectual authority’; it’s more like: ‘intellectual justification’.

We know nothing of the zodiacal division of ancient peoples used, who were very much in tune with the energies emanating from planets, stars, constellations and even individual degrees.

But yes, we are aware that the sky was early-on divided into 27 for the Nakshatras (obviously based on sensed Lunar energies in combination with constellations the Moon transited across).

And we are aware of the division of the sky into 12 signs: you ask why 12? The answer can only be speculated about and is lost in time, but the ‘dozen’ is an ancient concept, and doubtless appealed as being numerologically harmonious and inclusive, as it’s a multiple of 2, 3, 4, 6; and because itself it feeds into 144 etc.

A Sign is a useful concept. It’s not as precisely useful as the smaller divisions. And its energy/consciousness divisions are more overlapping with other signs.

But it is valid: and one proof of the sidereal zodiac’s total validity is its statement of the Gandanta Zones, which are immensely valuable and one can’t do good astrology without them.
Interestingly, I say this as I have Gandanta Moon, and the meaning of that was the fulcrum of my life AND Saturn is transiting the Abhukta Mula Jyestha to Mula 9Scorpio to Sagittarius) Gandanta as I write to you.

But of course, a sign also has crucial validity in that it is divided into such ultimately valuable heuristic divisions as the Padas and the Vargas or divisional charts. This is not weird, it’s mathematically factual.

And furthermore! The sign divisions in the heavens are crucial to note in that we know that the Jaimini moveable indicators (Chara Karakas) see see your Shri Jyoti Star chart below).
A planet’s chara karaka or moveable indicator status in our chart is defined by the position of a planet in the sidereal zodiac.
For example, there’s the all-crucial Atmakaraka or soul indicator (mine is Moon, as my planet of highest longitude in a sign), and these sidereal based charakarakas are the crucial definition (whatever other scheme of charakaraka is stated for you by other zodiacs, and whatever validity or relevance to other dimensions or facets of your consciousness or life these are found to have – and that would be after deep study and consideration).

Your Vedic Rashi/Birth Chart by Sri Jyoti Star (sidereal zodiac, Lahiri Ayanamsha):

And furthermore (could there be more?) your Avasthas, the standing of your planets and how they treat each other, are accurately stated by the Sidereal chart, and again we would need a careful, considered study project to determine what your Avasthas state, what validity or relevance or other dimensions or facets of your consciousness or life these are found to have, and this should only be done after deep study and consideration). See your Kala Avasthas charts below.

Your Avasthas charts by Kala (sidereal zodiac, Lahiri Ayanamsha):

And furthermore (!) I have found that my Dasa (Vedic Predictive period) start and end date ARE valid when sidereal zodiac is used.

And of course, drawing on western psychodynamic astrology, the position of our natal planets in the much wider areas of the hemispheres and quadrants of our western chart also are most important to know, because this guides us as to what areas of consciousness our planet will manifest its energies in psychologically, archetypally and in terms of direction of consciousness, and the way we will relate overall.

BUT I would say that UTILITY is a big criterion to apply at this stage. We need to make authentic realisation of what a system offers to our helaing path in this life. We need to make authentic decision as to what a system offers in our path to expressing the special spark of being and attainment we incaranted to become this time. Utility and authentic realisation and authentic perception is KEY.

If utilisation of a degree, or a nakshatra, or a pada, or a Varga – if utilisation of any of these gives you invaluable understanding of your nature, then it is to be embraced!

It is so valuable and indeed valid to note that Sun in Libra is debilitated. Debilitation can wreck one’s life. But experience of that destiny, then encountering Vedic Astrology’s perception of the wrecking concept of ‘debilitation’ – these are what give us the option of moving: moving into needed healing and empowerment!

Q. G. Why are there 12 Signs? A prominent astrologer told me “They divided the ecliptic into 12 because it is a multiple of 3 and 3 is a very important number in the occult. There was no other reason he can give. Is it possible there is “information encoded in there?  I guess so.  But splitting the sign into 9 portions is getting even weirder, unless those 9 portions reflect something in space.  Science is about hard, empirical definitions.  Why was Venus not the “ruler” of that space thousands of years ago, but at some point “became the ruler?”  And people with extreme intellect would say I’m a Scorpio because of tropical definitions?  Huh??
You are moving now in our conversation from ‘intellectual authority’ to ‘Science’. From my abandonment and orphanage upbringing (I have Moon Gandanta at 29 Pisces 56 and Sun at 1 Libra sidereal) I moved on to take five university degrees, and indeed to work in a five-year social anthropological field study: an ethnography. I believed the concepts of psychology and sociology in which I have postgraduate degrees.
But the gift of my Gandanta, a terrible gift, moved me beyond the limitations (and gifts) of the ‘scientific paradigm’ to ‘ancient spiritual/astrological frameworks’, and also the study of ancient deities and earth spirituality, and from these I have found what I needed, not from science.
How I despised the ‘current academic discourses’ that I had to fit the findings of my field study into: It was an ethnography of spiritual forms new to the modern west: place-making, how our sense of self depends on place and vice-versa. The study areas were Hinduism, Buddhism (Tibetan and western), paganism, shamanism and Utopian Community. The ethnographic method invented by Bronislaw Malinowski during the First World War is ˜participant observation’ – living in the communities and instructions under study: giving the individuals in them their own voice (not being the ˜top down’ ‘scientific expert’).
In Swiss Huber School psychodynamic western astrology (in which I trained in the nineties, and which I utilize for my teaching), you have a ‘psychic eye’ chart aspect shape: Pluto-Rahu trine Neptune, apex your Sun-Uranus conjunction:
Your Swiss Huber School Psychodynamic Astrology Chart by Megastar (Tropical Zodiac):

Psychic Eye Chart Aspect Shape:

This figure consists of two green semi-sextile aspects (30 deg) and one blue sextile  aspect (60 deg), thus  forming the small blue and green triangle called the Eye. This chart aspect shapes gives a wonderful and useful inquisitive, receptive and questing presence within you that is intuitive and observant or eagle-eyed.

In Swiss Huber School psychodynamic astrology (in which I trained in the nineties, and which I utilize for my teaching), you have this psychic eye chart aspect shape: Pluto-Rahu trine Neptune, apex your Sun-Uranus conjunction. This is one representation of why the study of the ‘which zodiacs?’ question will be so valuable for you.

My courses are always based on the study of two charts in relation to each and every concept. That way the discussion is kept authentic and grounded, empirical as well as with reference to the analytic and the theoretical. I value our communication. I’d love to now embark on the vastness of taking it into the dimensions of a course with you. See: http://www.mastervedicastrology.com/ what do you think?

My Vedic Astrology foundation course has a presentation and also a journey to meet each planet, and includes a considerable repertoire of techniques, and can cross-refer into western astrology if the student wishes, and it can also encompass Avasthas analysis system if the student wishes, and insights of great value can come from Avasthas.

I go on to teach many advanced courses, as well as having a wonderful on-line Tarot course which is of great value for your intuitive development.

All charts you could need are provided. There’s vast information provision/manuals. There’s caring totally individual tuition. If you optionally wanted to include into your studies the ‘Which Zodiac?’ course, that would be grand (as they say here in Ireland)!

I hope to hear from you, Michael
