Shravana Nakshatra Number 22

Michael Conneely

Shravana Nakshatra Number 22 / A Worldwide Nakshatra CourseMichael Conneely

Shravana Nakshatra is the 22nd Nakshatra and spans 10°00′ to 23°20′ Vedic Capricorn. This Nakshatra is ruled by The Moon and its ruling deity is Vishnu – The Preserver of the Universe. Its Symbol is The Ear, or an arrow. Its power animal or Yoni is the Female Monkey – playfulness, lack of seriousness. Its Motivation is Artha – material wealth. in terms of Gunas, Shravana is primarily Rajasic: desirous and acting on the worldly plane.

The Nakshatras are the truly wonderful 27-sign Lunar Zodiac of Vedic Astrology that is such a sure declaration as to our emotional nature, our consciousness, our life scripts, our relationships and health astrology. See my Worldwide Astrology Readings which always include study of your Nakshatras:
www.starwheelastrology.com/buyanastrologyreadin
and also my superb worldwide Nakshatras course:
www.nakshatrasadvancedcourse.com

The Principal Stars: Altair. One of three stars known as Head of the Eagle, or the three footprints of Vishnu. The Sun moves through Shravana from around January 24 to around February 6 of every year.

Shravana Nakshatra Key Words: The Listener, learner, knowledge quest. Informed. Persevering and shrewd. Goal orientated, and this becomes dangerous if their goals are unwholesome. They need to tone down their ego and be careful to do the right things. Can fall prey to deception and bad advice. they often have organizational ability which can be used for good or alternatively for destructive or degenerative ends. Sravanas often carry a cunning but well-mannered, alert look. They are good communicators. Good in media. They do need to be careful of propagating falsehood.

Positively, Shravana Nakshatra are intellectual, wise, good teachers, counsellors, amicable but calculating. More negatively, they are gossips and restless. Typically, they have an historical approach, heritage, tradition, travel, pilgrimage

Shravanas typically suffer troubles and disappointment – trust issues, especially in first half of life. They are sensitive and easily hurt. Thye can have feelings of inferiority that can be overcome with age.

Its heavenly basis emanates for seeking, which results in the paths, through which there is connection of all things.

Shravana Nakshatra nature is to be fierce and severe in a balanced way.

The ideal best spiritual path of Shravana is the way of listening and the gaining of knowledge.  This knowledge should lead to meditation (not only to knowledge of trivial facts).  The disciple may eventually become a guru himself who passes on knowledge.  This, therefore, is a meditative constellation.  Listening to the guru leads to becoming one with him and to meditation. Each Nakshatra has a special power or Shakti, the power of Sravana allows for connection. Shravanas are often fond of travel and living in foreign lands.

Uttara Ashadha Nakshatra 21

Michael Conneely

Michael ConneelyUttara Ashadha Nakshatra 21 and Worldwide Nakshatra Course

Uttara Ashadha Nakshatra is one of the wonderful 27 Nakshatras:
The Lunar Zodiac of Vedic Astrology. Uttara Ashadha Nakshatra spans: 26°40′ Sagittarius to 10°00′ Capricorn (Dhanus to Makara),

Uttara Ashadha Nakshatra is quite an uncompromising energy. It’s Ruler is The Sun – power, vitality, strength, leadership; its ruling deity are The Vishwadevas – The Universal Gods.
Uttara Ashadha’s symbol: Planks of a bed – not so good for marriage, not so comfortable, but a place to rest.
The Power animal/yoni: Mongoose – viciousness, speed.
Uttara Ashadha’s Motivation is Moksha – spiritual liberation. Its Caste is: Kshatriya, Warrior. Its nature is to be sharp and dreadful in an active way.
Translation: Mongoose means ‘unchallenged victory’. the latter invincible one.
Stars: The Four stars of Uttara Ashadha are in Sagittarius.

UTTARA ASHADHA Key Words:
Enduring, invincible, aggressive. can storm its way forward. Dogged persistence to succeed. Responsible. A challenger with a forceful path, who can have luck in the nick of time. Can be a lonely enduring path. Much more introspective than that the preceding Nakshatra, the showy Purva Ashadha. More warrior than Brahmin. They can get totally involved in their task. Can penetrate deeply into knowledge. They have innate leadership qualities and usually affluence. They are Law-abiding and religious, genial. patient, righteous and responsible. Methodical, sincere and calculating.

Note that 5° Capricorn is the exact debilitation degree for Jupiter, so the light of knowledge can be obscured as the individual becomes obsessed with paying karmic debts.

Jupiter rules the Sagittarius part of Uttara Ashadha, but Saturn rules the Capricorn part. Jupiter is about expansion, but Saturn is about contraction – and Jupiter is at his greatest debilitation in the Capricorn part of Uttara Ashadha. There is an energy in the Saturn part especially, of moderation and practicality, and there may be not too much hope, idealism or expansiveness. It is maybe a place for endurance and concrete action rather than words. Yet there can be misplaced idealism. Every error someone with emphasis in Uttar Ashadha makes is amplified due to the enormous capacity of this nakshatra to be of influence in the outside world. The emphasis here can be on concrete achievement. Nerves of steel. Exaggerated attention to worldliness or to power structures. Accumulation.

Basically, Uttara Ashadhas can have innate great integrity, and can be sincere, committed, ambitious. They fight for what they believe is right and practise what they preach. They often make advisors. Uttara Ashadhas have great stamina and constancy. If they are not fully engaged in a project, they can get apathetic.

They can be pioneering. They can be noted for a fresh start, honest, great insight, ambitious, but sometimes can fail to carry through

Uttara Ashada Nakshatra shows how actions are always victorious over ideas. Sagittarius preceding can be lazy, and idealistic about something that is not good.

The ruling deities of Uttara Ashadha are the universal gods that guarantee victory. It is where Sagittarius becomes Capricorn where hopes and inspirations become tangible realities.

Negativley, Uttarashadhas can be rigid, unbending, upholding. Can get self-centred and stubborn. Can have losses in early life, but more success as their life progresses.

N.B. Love Scripts of Uttara Ashadha:
This is the one of the 27 Lunar Signs or Nakshatras that has no natural mate, and thus is usually a very difficult life-script for marriage. Can have difficulties in marriage or sexual incompatibilities. The Uttara Ashadha symbol is the planks of a bed: an austere bed, not made for comfort. The hard bed reflects your austere attitude to relationships.

They like control so their partners can feel pushed out. Can go for material comfort and success, but not pleasure. They show stubborn, self-centred approach and can develop lack of interest in relationship.

Typically, Uttara Ashadhas can be composed and stoical. They tend to keep an emotional distance from others. They can have difficulty expressing warmth and love. Thay can have a difficult relationship with their father and this colours how they view love.

If Uttara Ashadhas are involved in something that bores or stresses them, they can become dull and lazy. There is a self-indulgent streak within them that defies your otherwise austere nature.

Uttara Ashadhas have complex Sexuality. The animal symbol of Uttara Ashadha is the mongoose. There is no female mongoose in the Nakshatra animal signs. For Uttara Ashadhas, therefore, there are no ideal partners. Often they have no instinctive understanding of your sexuality. To fulfil their spiritual path, they can have to learn to compromise on their sexuality.

Typically, to hide their lack of sexual confidence and low self-esteem, Uttara Ashadhas appear active and bold. If they fancy someone you make a play for them. You are fast workers and can get involved very quickly. But once they are involved, it can become very clear that they do not know what to do with their lovers. Not having an ideal mate in the Nakshatra system hinders Uttara Ashadha’s sexual knowledge. They can be passionate yet cold, self-indulgent yet ascetic. The right partner is one who accepts their intrinsic spirituality and makes them comfortable with their sexuality.

Uttara Ashadhas hate secrecy or deception so you set high standards for their partners and if they fail, can be very aggressive and will not wait till they have rooted out their dishonesty. They need to avoid becoming suspicious for the sake of it. And as they are plain-speaking and direct, they may not understand harmless wiles and sexual play from others. it can be that they can’t be bothered and choose to lead the life of an ascetic. In a woman’s chart, this person may opt for a practical marriage or marriage for money.

find their partners are too ascetic, boring or not much fun, especially if planet occupies pada 2 of Uttar Ashadha.

Favorable: Uttara Ashadha earns a good living; believes in charitable giving; brave; does well in foreign countries; good conversationalist; enjoys music and dance; good organizational abilities; ambitious, motivated to accomplish things and develop their careers; likes old and mysterious things; could be skilled in astrology

Unfavorable: Uttara Ashadha cane be self-seeking, aggressive; worried; capable of hurting others; makes up stories; deceptive in that they will either say what is not so, withhold information, or understate matters; don’t like to be told what to do; argumentative; too talkative; select mates who often are very different in personality and outlook

The symbol of Uttara Ashadha, a tooth, is a sharp thing and analogous to this Uttara Ashadha has a keen intellect, which enables him to see through the wrong ways of the ego.  The elephant is an animal with a great, positive strength.  A person in whose horoscope Uttara Ashadha plays an important role is challenged to use that strength.

Purva Ashadha Nakshatra Number 20

Michael Conneely

Purva Ashadha is the 20th Nakshatra in the wonderful, powerful and surely declarative 27-sign
Lunar Zodiac of vedic astrology: The Nakshatras.

The Nakshatras are the truly wonderful 27-sign Lunar Zodiac of Vedic Astrology that is such a sure declaration as to our emotional nature, our consciousness, our life scripts, our relationships and health astrology.
Purva Ashadha Nakshatra spans: 13°20′ to 26°40′ Vedic Sagittarius. Purva Ashadha is ruled by Venus and its Deity is: Apas, the Water God. Its symbol is: The Elephant’s Tusk, or the fan, and its translation is: The Former Unsubdued. Purva Ashada Nakshatra means “early victory”. Its Power Animal/Yoni: Male Monkey. Its motivation is: Moksha. Its Ayurvedic Dosha: Pitta, and its Quality is: Fierce.
The Principal Stars of Purva Ashadha Nakshatra are: An- Naaim. PurvaAshada lies entirely within the Constellation of The Archer: Sagittarius. It consists of two stars in angle to the third star: Kaus Borealis and Kaus Australis are in angle to Kaus Media. Hence the shape of the Archer’s bow or the fan.

Purva Ashadha Nakshatra Key Words:

Strength and Victory. Invincible: they smash through anything in their way. Proud, independent. Obstinate and can’t be influenced by others. The fan denotes superiority. Here’s a list of key words that Purva Ashadas need to often learn about so as to purify and heal their natures:

They have an intense conviction that they cannot lose and they have the ability to come out on top – and a times this can be misplaced or positively malign for the effect they will have on others. it is not an impatient energy; but it is implacable – and can of course be unrealistic or inappropriate. Fearless and controlling. Social climbers. Oratorical, obstinate and aggressive. They are full of their own opinions and judgmental

They are blind to their own flaws and in self-denial; they are often creative and talented. And they are noted for getting supported through many friends.

They are orientated towards Moksha or spiirtuality, but in their search for Moksha, they are over-expansive and their overexpansion and opinionated nature can crush or disregard others.

Their Pitta orientation makes them fiery and forceful, inspirational and charismatic.

Their rulership by Venus can so often tend them to pursue illusion and deception, and because this couples with their mental aggression, the resultant mix is unstoppable.

They tend to develop influence, ambitious and fearless, always improving, ambitious to improve their life situation.

They have deep emotions. They are philosophical, confrontational, angry, harsh.

As regards spiritual path, this Nakshatra can be formulaic and implacable, devotional but dogmatic. They can have a deeply philosophical or religious nature, but they do need to strip away their ego otherwise their spiritual path can crush others.

They have an ability to influence the masses.

Purva Ashadha can bring fame, wealth, fertility and wisdom.

They can have flashes of inspiration and insight. There can be phases or purification and regeneration. The meaning of life can suddenly be revealed to them. They need to maintain purity, but often a false purity becomes a supreme and destructive agenda.

If you would like to learn more about Purva Ashadha, and all the other 27 Nakshatras of the Vedic Lunar Zodiac, this is so worthwhile. Vishakha Nakshatra 16 and worldwide Nakshatra Course

Michael Conneely

Vishakha The Vehement Nakshatra 16 and worldwide Nakshatra Course

Vishakha Nakshatra  spans 20°00′ Vedic Libra to 3°20′ Vedic Scorpio. It’s nature is triumphant and vehement, but when the Vishakha Nakshatra person has learned their life lessons, they can become the ethical stalwart who holds together families, groups and situations.

The Nakshatras are the truly wonderful 27-sign Lunar Zodiac of Vedic Astrology that is such a sure declaration as to our emotional nature, our consciousness, our life scripts, our relationships and health astrology.

See my Worldwide Astrology Readings which always include study of your Nakshatras:
www.starwheelastrology.com/buyanastrologyreading
and also my superb worldwide Nakshatras course:
www.nakshatrasadvancedcourse.com

Vishakha Nakshatra planetary Ruler is: Jupiter, who offers purpose and divine guidance
The Ruling Deity or Devata is: Agni, the God of Fire and Indra, the King of Gods and god of War, storms and rainfall. The Divine energy of transformation.
Vishakha’s Symbol is: The Triumphant Arch.
And most appropriately, Vishakha’s Power Animal or Yoni is: The Male Tiger (would you mess with this one???)
The Principal Star is: Az Zubanan – the Claws of Scorpio.

Vishakha Nakshatra – Keywords:

The poisons of past lives can be stored here. They can be aggressive, dictatorial and utterly ruthless. Obsessional, introverted and secretive. Fixation and decisive dedication. Their obsessions can burn them up and harm those dear to them. They are quarrelsome with loads of suppressed anger and hurt, bitterness and resentfulness. They are very easily angered! Their eyes are always fixed on their goal(s). Sometimes the goals are unwholesome. They are insatiable and the grass can always be greener on the other side!
But Vishakhas can slowly grow in influence and at their ideal best self-realisation, they thus ripen. They have to show Patience, persistence and determination. There’s a sense of ploughing and cultivation in their lives.

Favorable: Clever; has respect for intelligent and spiritual people; enterprising; self-satisfied; determined; gets things done; can appear soft but is very powerful underneath; sexually alluring; a good mate in marriage; benefits through marriage, traveling, and through change; mathematical talent. These people can be cultured and with dignity, influential and honest. Vishakhas at their best show good manners and become influential people. They can be religious or spiritual.

Unfavorable: Overly talkative; nice until they get what they want; negative, speaks negatively about others, fault-finding; not open to advice; offensive and not easy to like; greedy, deceitful, aggressive, domineering, quick to take offense, militant, suspicious, possessive, envious; feels obstructed and taken advantage of by others.

Key Guidance: For someone in whose horoscope Vishakha plays an important role, much depends on the goals he sets for himself.  If these objectives are self-centred, he may become unbearable for other people and may head towards the wrong direction.  Vishakha is always totally devoted in order to reach his goals.  He has great courage and ambition. The path suitable to Vishakha is the way of the warrior, like that of Krittika.  The Vishakha has to find out for himself whether his goals actually serve all of humanity or solely his own good.  The outcome of this will determine how this constellation will manifest itself: as a curse or as a blessing.

Your Astrology and your Time of Birth: Rectification

Michael Conneely

Michael ConneelyTHE VALUE OF ASTROLOGY:
If we do have an as near as possible birth chart, there is so much we can accurately see and state, so as to understand ourselves and so as to understand our lives, heal ourselves, heal our lives.

But before I go into the issue of correct time of birth, I want to mention another big question about the value of astrology: the other big question is what we do about this supreme astrological perception?

Well, perception itself is useful, it can encourage us to change and to mend our negative life scripts and karmas and our negative behavioural patterns.

But perception can get us so far.

The real value of astrology when it is expert, is to point us towards Healing and Empowerment, and so it can enable us to seek and achieve our healing, and it can point us in the right direction for healing and empowerment.

I work also with my partner Maggie Pashley, both of us working worldwide on-line and also in our healing Centre in the West of Ireland. There are so many sophisticated and powerful healing modalities that can heal the patterns and scripts highlighted by our astrology. See her website: www.maggiepashley.com.

So, this expert astrology can point us to understand the true nature of the spark we incarnated to achieve this time. It can define our assets and our strengths, and it can define those parts of ourselves that are enemies to this and can impeded us. So: yes, then it must be used as a pointer to and a basis for skilled healing.

But correct astrological declaration, with all its potential follow-on valuable uses, does depend on having a birth chart that as much as possible is based on a correct time of birth.

And so, this brings us to the issue of rectification of Time of Birth:
RECTIFICATION:

People ask about rectification and its value.

Well, the more our birth time is not correct, the more our astrology becomes incorrect in its potential to make supreme and accurate statement. In fact, if there is an error in time of birth, this means that the position of Ascendant or Rising Sign will be wrong in your Western Astrology birth chart by an amount of degrees dependent upon the number of minutes the tob is incorrect, and therefore the cusps or ‘start positions’ of each of the Houses will be wrong.

And in your Vedic Astrology birth chart, dependent on the amount of time of birth error, the definition of the first house may also be wrong and therefore the definition of the subsequent Houses. In Vedic Astrology, there are Varga or divisional charts in Vedic Astrology, each referring powerfully to specific areas of life, and these are sensitive to tob error, especially the higher divisional charts.
Also, the Moon can be in wrong position in the charts if there is any substantial error in tob, as the Moon moves quite rapidly through the heavens. And understanding the Moon is key to the nature of our consciousness and its management, and to our Mother issues.
Also the start and end dates of your Vedic predictive periods (dasas) will begin to be incorrect if there is error in tob.

So, definitely, it is best to have accurate time of birth:

Let me now give four examples of time of birth issues in more detail:

  1. Your Ascendant or rising Sign:

For example, the Ascendant or ‘rising sign’ which is the basis of defining our First House (and therefore all the subsequent of the 12 Houses) will be in the incorrect position. The twelve Houses make declaration about what will happen in each defined areas of our life. If the Houses are defined wrongly, then the declaration of the affairs of life of each House will be wrong. The more the time of birth error, the greater the error in defining the Ascendant and the Houses, and thus the greater the error in defining the life. In Vedic astrology, the definition of our first House is of course so important as it sets the keynote for our bodily features and the strengths and issues with which we will project into the world. The Ruling Planet of the first House assumes such a special importance for us to define its special nature and characteristics.

  1. Your Predictive Age Points:

I use predictive Age Points in my psychodynamic Western Astrology: an individuation Age Point which charts the unfoldment of our understanding of our psychology and our psychological subpersonalities, and our unfolding ability to manage and heal these, and also a Nodal Age Point which depicts the whispering to us from our soul from the astral at each point in our life. If the time of birth is wrong, then the dates of the ‘hits’ of these two age points, and the nature of their messages will be incorrectly defined.

  1. Your Vedic Astrology Divisional or Varga Charts:Vedic Astrology uses Divisional Charts’ or ‘Varga Charts’ in addition to the birth chart (called the Rashi Chart). Each Varga Chart is a harmonic chart derived from the birth chart. For example, the Navamsha or 9th Harmonic chart makes invaluable statement about our marriage issues and the messages our soul will send to us in this life as our life unfolds. One example of the use of the Navamsha is a woman who has a bad Jupiter in her birth chart indicating that she will attract a bad husband, but she may have a wonderful Jupiter on her Navamsha chart indicating the potential to attract a very good husband, for example when her Jupiter is activated by the wonderful Dashas, the wonderful Predictive Periods of Vedic Astrology.
  2. Your Incarnational Life Purpose:
Vedic Astrology has a most wonderful system for defining Incarnational Life Purpose based on the position of the Nodes of the Moon in the birth Chart, as analysed by Sign, House and Aspect, and also as analysed by their position in the wonderful Nakshatras: the 27-sign lunar Zodiac of Vedic astrology. If your time of birth is wrong, you could well make a statement that the Nodes of the Moon are in the wrong House. The definition of the position of planets can get very exact in Vedic Astrology, for example because the 12 Signs are divided into Navamshas and other divisional charts, each with a subtly different nature, and for example because the Lunar Signs, the Nakshatras are divided into Padas (or quarters) each with a subtly different nature within the Nakshatra or lunar sign). If you use an incorrect time of birth, you will state that the planets are in the wrong divisions of these powerful declarative divisions of each sign.

So, for these reasons, you can see that it can be a good idea to have your time of birth rectified when you have an astrology reading or if you embark on an astrology course.

SO, HOW IS MY TIME OF BIRTH RECTIFIED?

So, this brings us to the question of ‘How is my time of Birth Rectified?

I use two methods:

A. Kinesiology:
A quick way is to tap into our intuitive knowing and use ‘muscle testing’ or ‘kinesiology’ and I have definitely found over the years occasions when this has been subsequently verified, either because the tob has subsequently been discovered, or because the muscle-tested tob has been born out in that it generates correctly timed predictions.

B. Formal Rectification:
The formal method of rectification is two-fold:
a) You list a number of different big life events and then the astrologer to erects different charts for different tobs and sees which chart predicts the events at the correct time that they actually happened.
b) The Astrologer looks at the Houses created by different tob, and says what each different tob declares about the affairs of that house, and then you to say which is the most accurate. For example, if two tobs under study offered different definition of 4th House = Mother, then one could say that ‘time A’ declares that the native will have a very difficult mother, but that ‘time B’ declares that the native will have a very good mother, and so the astrologer can say from this which which is the more correct birth time.

Formal rectification is not easy and it does take time. You would need to send me a list of say seven to ten big life events. I would try out different tob charts, and ask you questions.

SO, WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE?

Well, I think you will agree with me that a rectified time of birth is worth having, because otherwise we cannot be sure of being able to tap into the invaluable perceptions offered by a correct and expertly interpreted birth chart, nor can we benefit from correctly-based predictive astrology. And if our astrology is incomplete or inaccurate it can’t be such a powerful gateway to its potential for invaluable Perception, and we won’t have such clarity for seeing how we can heal or empower ourselves and thus create a purposeful, happy, healed and powerful life.

So, may I suggest  that you could go through the rectification exercise with me so as to achieve the wonderful asset of having as correct as possible la birth time. This is of great value in itself: now – and at so many times in our life.

But there is another way you might like to benefit from having a rectification, and that is to study my Vedic Astrology Course. I call my course: Master Vedic Astrology. Its website is www.mastervedicastrology.com it’s teaching approach is very clear. In an expert way, we go from one planet to another, and so we study first the sun, then the Moon, and so on down the list of the planets. In-between the planet studies, you study astrological interpretation techniques. Note that your planet studies and your techniques studies are always with reference to two charts: yours and mine. This way we keep the communication caring and authentic. In addition, you are welcome to include Western Astrology Crossover and I recommend this, either in small measure or more fully. In addition, you are welcome the include the Visionary Astrology techniques I describe above. In addition, of course, all the declaration is used not to create inert formula, but to generate within us perception that can lead to our transformation, and to link us to healing and empowerment awareness and techniques that we feel we may need or benefit form so as to make the maximum success and happiness of our lives.

I also teach a Western Astrology Course which majors in psychodynamic and evolutionary western astrology, and basically follows the same caourse format and principles as my Master Vedic Astrology Course.

So, you could either enrol just for me to work with you to complete a Rectification Exercise as described above which would be invaluable and fascinating and would leave you with all the benefits of a rectified birth chart. This costs £100 (GB Pounds) and you can email me to arrange this.

OR as a special offer, you could enrol on my Master Vedic Astrology Course or my Enlightened Astrology Course, in which case I could include in the course the Rectification Exercise at half price.

So, all blessings to you and I look forward to hearing from you

The supreme value of Astrology with Healing and Empowerment

Michael Conneely

Michael Conneely

Michael Conneely

I often receive emails from people who are rightly expressing the damage they have experienced from their family of their life situation, and they are asking how astrology can help them.

Because I too have suffered from for example adoptive (and birth) family, this raises the issue of what work do we have to do to free ourselves and heal ourselves so that we can more ourselves out of the damage and become the spark of achievement that we uniquely incarnated to become.
We should not live in reactive hate and hurt, nor use the horrible people or events as an excuse or reason for living in hurt and failure, tempting though it is to remain in our outraged hurt victim scripts. We have such a similar agenda and challenge here, and in fact the success of our lives is what is at stake.
And so this is related to the question: what is the value of astrology?

THE VALUE OF ASTROLOGY:
From our astrology birth chart, there is so much we can accurately see and state, so as to understand ourselves and so as to understand our lives, and therefor so as to heal ourselves, heal our lives.
I have studied with nine teachers in both western and vedic astrology. On the one hand, I have come to reject the formulaic ranting or the fated declarations that can characterise traditional cultural Hindu vedic Astrology and its often egoic teachers, and the useless traditional remedies and the uncritical and unaware prescription of mantra. On the other hand, I have also come to reject the astro-babble that can characterise the worst in Western Astrology, and its ungrounded waste of time psychobabble.
But I can recognise that with deep study, one can come to amazing insights using the many charts and techniques of Vedic Astrology, and one can come to invaluable insights using the enlightened psychological awareness of western astrology, for example psychodynamic western astrology and evolutionary astrology.
However, I then have to go one to say firmly that such analysis and declaration is not at all useful unless it is geared to using the perception for transformation. TRANSFORMATION.
It is just not utilising the declaration of astrology to its full value, nor fulfilling the needs in our life, unless the declaration of expert astrology is then used for changing the way one manages one’s consciousness and thus the way one understands and lives one’s life.
Basically, when one goes deeply into Vedic astrology, one can make such invaluable and supreme diagnoses of how each planet will manifest in our life, and of how one’s planets treat each other in one’s chart – and therefore in one’s life, and also of what planet will especially manifest predictively in one’s life at a particular time in the unfoldment of one’s predictive astrology, of what exact energy each planet will bring in to one’s life natally or predictively.

This must be used for our healing and empowerment.

It must not be used fatedly and passively.

I advocate, and include, in my Astrology Readings and in my Astrology Courses, the crossover of vedic and Western Astrology. This is so that the peerless declaration of Vedic Astrology of our incarnational life purpose, and the precise declaration about each planet’s energy in our lives (and how our planets treat each other) is linked to, and enhanced by, understanding of the energies of the outer Planets in our lives: the Gods of Change: Uranus, Neptune and Pluto, and also Chiron our Wounded Healer. These planet’s energies and meanings came into the human consciousness when they were discovered, and must be taken account of.
Another special feature of my Astrology, especially in my Astrology Courses in both Western and Vedic Astrology, is that, indeed, I see great value in also going on to include the potential for Visionary Astrology. I see the need to ‘see’ the nature of each planet in his ‘pure state’ as a god, as a refraction of the Divine (for example using visionary, journeying or meditation techniques). And secondly I see the great need to also ‘see’ how each planet manifests, not in his divine state, but in our astrology charts (Western and Vedic) – and therefore how each planet manifests in our lives. In other words we also need to develop clear appearance of how we experience each planet through the filters of Sign, House and Aspect.

And how we experience each planet is of course often terribly different from their divine or pure state!

But the big question is what we do about this supreme astrological perception?

Well, perception itself is useful, it can encourage us to change and to mend our negative life scripts and karmas and our negative behavioural patterns.

But note that perception can go so far!

The real value of astrology, when it is expert as described above, is to point us towards Healing and Empowerment, and so thus it can enable us to seek healing, and it can point us in the right direction for our healing and empowerment.

This expert astrology can point us to understand the true nature of the spark we incarnated to achieve this time. It can define our assets and our strengths, and it can define those parts of ourselves that are enemies to this and can impeded us. So: yes, then then astrology must be used as a pointer to, and as a basis for: healing.

Jupiter enters Hasta Nakshatra 14th April 2017 – Understand the present Jupiter Transit

Michael Conneely

Michael ConneelyOn 14th April 2017, Jupiter enters Hasta Nakshatra or Hasta Lunar sign as it is known in Vedic astrology. And i would say this brings a special caution that Vata impulses should not be allowed to reign over-free, but that Hasta’s true capacity for inspiration should be tapped in to to support Jupiter to bring you inspiraiton and genuine success.

By the 5th February 2017, transiting Jupiter had reached 29 degrees Vedic sign of Virgo, but on this day, he turned Retrograde, and Jupiter has been retrograding ever since.

Now, note that 29 degrees of the Vedic sign of Virgo, is actually in the very creative Mars-ruled 14th Nakshatra of Chitra. Chitra’s ruling deity is Vishvakarma, the Heavenly Architect. Chitra is the 14th in the wonderful and powerfully declarative 27-sign Lunar Zodiac of vedic astrology called the Nakshatras.

But on the 14th April 2017, Jupiter has retrograded to 23 degrees Vedic Virgo and so he actually retrogrades out of Chitra Nakshatra and enters into Hasta Nakshatra. Hasta is the 13th Nakshatra. And Jupiter will continue to be retrograde until 9th June 2017 when he finally turns direct at 19 degrees of the Vedic sign of Virgo. And thereafter, Jupiter continues to be direct, moving forwards again through vedic sign of Virgo and finally entering Vedic Libra on 12th September.

So, what change in the energies will we feel from 14th April, when Jupiter leaves Chitra and enters Hasta?

Well, Chitra is very temperamental and creative. Chitra’s power animal is the female tiger (and you really should NOT upset one of these!!!)

But Hasta on the other hand is ruled by the moon. It’s power animal is the female buffalo, and it is in the very airy Mercury-ruled energy of Virgo. Don’t let the buffalo run too erratically! Its Ayurvedic Dosha is Vata. Its gunas orientation is Tamas, Tamas and Rajas. Because Hasta is ruled by the Moon, the mind energy is moody and fluctuating, reflecting the waxing and waning phases of the Moon. Although they can Mercurially appear confident and in control, they are actually vulnerable, insecure and in conflict, always questioning themselves, and far too flexible about the truth, even to the point of cheating. Hasta can be the hand of the conjurer; let him now be the hand of the guru!

I feel we will lose the wonderful creative building energy that I certainly felt when Jupiter was in Chitra. Instead, I feel there will be much more of a wordy energy. And I feel there’s a danger with Jupiter in Hasta that some people will try to control others through wordiness and even sleight of hand. So, I feel the call when Jupiter is in Hastā from 14th April to 4th August when Jupiter re-enters Chitra again, having reached 23 deg Vedic Virgo is to avoid getting lost in wordiness and to check out is constructive work continuing to be done!!!!

Let’s face it, the true call of Jupiter is Guru. He is a refraction of the divine. So, we must take care that the inspiration of words in Hasta will only be used to genuinely communicate the energies and inspiration of true divine power and wisdom. Monitor and check out these communication and wisdom issues when Jupiter is transiting through Hasta. If Hastas, themselves, can avoid being drained by words, they will achieve expansiveness and reap the rewards of the Jupiter-Uranus opposition, the Jupiter-Uranus-Pluto T-square that is transiting in the heaven. They will express genuine inspired expansion and not get lost in words. It will be a wonderfully successful time for them, and for all of us who share the Jupiter in Hasta present inspiration with this awareness. Could be a good time for a job interview or designing a website.

Just to add a footnote about how the transit of Jupiter is reflected using the tropical zodiac of western astrology: Vedic Astrology uses the Sidereal Zodiac. But, in terms of the Western tropical zodiac, the Jupiter transit sequence is as follows:

5th February :    Jupiter turns retrograde at 23 degrees Western Libra.
14th April :          Jupiter leaves Chitra and enters Hasta Nakshatra at 17 degrees western Libra.
9th June :           Jupiter turns direct at 13 degrees Western Libra.
2th September : Jupiter enters vedic Libra, which is 24 deg western Libra.

Sun enters Vedic Aries on 14th April 2017

Michael Conneely

Michael ConneelyThe Sun enters Vedic Aries on 14th April 2017 – in Ashwini Nakshatra

April 2017 is a month of churning astrological energies with some great potential as well, but a lot of complication energies where good perception will mean your success – and also some downright aggressive energies as well. A major feature is: Sun enters Vedic Aries.

So, this Blog Post focuses on the fact that on the 14th April 2017, the Sun enters the first Vedic sign of Aries. Vedic Aries is a Fire sign ruled by Mars.

Impatience will increase. You will feel more energy and purpose. And for four more facets of the way we will all be affected by sun in Vedic Aries, read on below.

At the same moment, of course, note that Sun is also entering the first of the 27 Lunar Signs or Nakshatras which is Nakshatra 1: Ashwini Nakshatra.

So, note that on 14th April is at the point in the heavens where Vedic Aries and Ashwini Nakshatra both start. Sun is at 24 degrees Western Astrology Aries. See my special Blog post for how the two zodiacs, Western and Vedic, each inter-relate.

So, for more detail, after the five big facets to the Sun in Vedic Aries energy described below, you can also see below for the dates of the Sun’s move through Vedic Aries and for the dates of the Sun’s moves through the first three of the Nakshatras that fall within Vedic Aries: Ashwini, Bharani and Krittika.

Also shown below are the Western and vedic Astrology charts of this moment of ‘Sun enters Vedic Aries’. Do have a look at those.
And also below, there’s other details such as the exceptional number of retrograde planet in the heavens in April 2017, and also past life implications.
And see below, too, for details of my wonderful worldwide Astrology Readings and many worldwide Astrology Courses. All my work offers you Vedic or Western astrology, or the opportunity to combine the two if you wish for that. And all my work offers option for visionary astrology and psychosynthesis and healing work. I’m based at our Healing Centre in the West of Ireland by the way, so this means that the charts below are erected for there, but to see planet positions and times for your own locations see the various handy calculators on: https://www.timeanddate.com/

What will Sun’s entry into Aries and Ashwini Nakshatra mean for you?
Well, five things in particular:

1. The Gandanta Effect: Goodness, what a hammering some people are getting if they have planets on the transition point from Vedic Aries to Vedic Pisces. The first thing to be aware of, and this will affect everyone but will especially affect people with planets in the last two degrees of Vedic Pisces and the first two degrees of Vedic Aries, is that the Sun will be transiting through the dangerous Gandanta Zone: the Gandanta transition point is where a water sign dissolves and the first flare of a fire sign happens. If you have planets here, they will be sensitive all your life. They will be insubstantial. It’s important to know that the closer to the zero point the more difficult the destiny they will create for you. If you have Moon there, it means ‘mother will not be there for you’ in this life. If you have Sun there it means that ‘father’s influence will in some way be lacking for you’, creating a less sure and less substantial sense of self in this life, less confidence innately, though it is more possible to heal Sun Gandanta than it is Moon Gandanta, which has to be lived with and learned to be lived with.  Please do note that people with Moon or Sun in the Gandanta Zone already have had a very sensitive time in the last few days when the Full Moon of 11th April was there at twenty-seven and a half degrees Vedic Pisces (21 western Libra), and also of course because of the great fact that Uranus entered Aries on 8th April. BUT there’s glorious expansion also being offered out of the sensitivity and the pain of inspiration: inspiration about what needs to change: for Gandanta people and for all humanity. But to return to Gandanta people, Uranus is now transiting conjunct these people’s Moon or their Sun. this brings huge wired change and revolution. AND Uranus is transiting in opposition to Jupiter all this year bringing ‘thank the lord success’ possibility and definitely wired revolution. AND this Uranus – Jupiter opposition is additionally caught up in an ultimate explosive T-square: the opposition is T-square to the depth tectonic energy of Pluto!!!

2. The Revolution: As I said in my blog post on ‘Uranus enters Aries’, and in the paragraph above, Uranus entering Vedic Aries means you need to be sensitive and perceptive and aware when revolution is being offered to you, especially as Jupiter and Uranus are forming a transiting opposition around now, and also Pluto is T-square to the in the ‘generator effect’ of remorseless depth charge energy of needed change. Importantly: you can actually try to develop a visionary picture of these planets and of the planets in your chart and you can imagine how they can best combine in a way that will bring you the needed effective revolution. Yet we also have to honour structure and strategy; we have to honour the demands of Saturn: Lord Shani, Lord of Karma, and of course you have to act in a way that will harmonise in with the other treasured parts of your life: your family, your relationship, your home. But because Sun, Mercury and Uranus are all in Vedic Aries in April, there will be a new energy of inspiration, awakening and inventiveness running. Uranus will be in Aries for seven years: for the more thoughtful people, this will bring new creativity, but for the more violent people it will bring war, as it did last time. The energy of Sun being in Aries will bring more impatience and energy to kick these things off: more self-assertion that will help the process!

3. The Ashwini Healer: It’s useful to also be aware that the energy of the first Nakshatra, Ashwini, is in its best thrust of manifestation a healer energy. The sign itself is born out of often sexual panic at some sub-stratum. They are so impatient because they are springing up out of the void of the Gandanta into manifestation and being. Their power animal is two stallions streaking across the skies of dawn. They can commit to relationship in an instant and their families are powerless to point out when their ‘marry at first sight’ object of total love nearly is to be the destruction of them. Yet the fact is that all this actually makes them become healers. And they have the sort of healer energy like the ambulance man: racing to the spot and giving the most totally effective first aid!!!!

4. War and Violence: As I also said in my blog post on ‘Uranus enters Aries’, sadly I do feel there will be war and political divisiveness. The last time Uranus entered Aries saw the burning of the Reichstag and the rise of Adolph Hitler and the World War that followed. The Sun is exalted in Vedic Aries, and Adolph Hitler’s Sun was at 8 degrees Vedic Aries (this is 0 degrees Western Astrology sign of Taurus). You need high consciousness to handle things like Sun and Uranus in the Vedic sign of Aries, not to mention the energies of the eclipse on 21st August 2017, and of course the Kal sarpa Yoga that reasserts itself after the eclipse does need a person of high spiritual consciousness to manage such a divisive energy, and to reap spiritual reward and giving from such a challenge.

5. Persecution: Maggie passed me details of something I hadn’t heard of when i wrote this post about Sun and Uranus entering Vedic Aries. She said she had been reading my post about Uranus entering Vedic Aries and one of its manifestations the last time it happened was the rise of Adolph Hitler. And next she came across a post which said that ‘Chechnya is rounding up gay people and taking them to torture camps, and it’s as horrific as it sounds. Men are being electrocuted, tortured until they reveal names of other gay people, and beaten so badly that some have died. Targeting gay people and dragging them into camps is like something the Nazis would do…’ and Adolph Hitler did do this. So my point is a plea to be aware of how the Sun/Uranus in Vedic Aries energy can be used by people operating at a low level of consciousenss. Its power and aggression can be used to fuel force and coercion. I do want to say that the organised religions are very prone to being taken over by the negative side of the Sun/Uranus in Vedic Aries energy. This is because they are formulaic, and also because they are dualistic. Their doctrines and their organisation leads to scapegoating, where all one’s inner darkness can be projected onto another, and the other then tortured, persecuted, villified, dehumanised and killed. Such dualistic behaviour is not part of the uranus/Sun in Aries energy, but that energy can feed such human being disasterously at these times when it is activated. So, after the initial fillip of Sun/Uranus in Vedic Aries now, well: Uranus is in Vedic Aries for the next seven years. We are all born to turn our darkness into light. I predict that a lot of aggressive warlike dark is rising to be dealt with now!

Now for a few other April astrological features, plus details of my Astrology Readings and Courses:

The Sun : Movement dates in April and May 2017: The Sun will continue in Ashwini until 27th April when he enters the 2nd Nakshatra Bharani, and Sun enters the third Nakshatra which is Krittika (Krittika continues into Vedic Taurus). Sun enters Krittika on 11th May, finally leaving Vedic Aries to enter vedic Taurus on 14th May

Sign Changes now: On the same day, there are two other energy changes as transiting planets change Nakshatras: Transiting Jupiter moves retrograde from Nakshatra 14 Chitra to Nakshatra 13 Hasta, and transiting Ketu south node moves from Nx 24 Shatabishak to Nx 23 Dhanistha.

Retrograde Planets now: And also in April five planets: Venus, Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto all retrograde.

Ketu, South Node and Past Lives now: Not only that! Five planets are in Nakshatras ruled by Ketu the South node of the Moon. This will come into the lives of some of us in the form of inspirations and/or of people and skills from past lives, and also sudden revelations to aid our spiritual growth: Sun, Moon and Mercury will all be in Nakshatra 1 Ashwini, Saturn is transiting retrograde in in Nakshatra 19 Mula, and Rahu is transiting in Nakshatra 9 Magha.

Saturn turns Retrograde 6th April 2017 What affect will it have in your life?

Michael Conneely

Michael ConneelyOn 6th April 2017, Saturn turns Retrograde.

What affect will this have on you?

What does this mean?

Well, Saturn has been travelling slower and slower. He’s been in the same degree since 8th March.

What is the gift to your life of this very slow motion on the part of Saturn? What is the gift of his turning Retrograde?

It is very useful indeed to realise that the slower a planet’s apparent motion in the heavens, the deeper and more powerful his effect in your life.

And when a planet has retrograde motion, he causes you to be forced to examine his energies and the areas of life he relates to. Long term plans can get very held up. You wouldn’t want anyone accusing you of impatience, now would you?

In fact, this month we will all have to experience the energies and effects of five planets all retrograde: Venus, Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto. It will feel like a weirdly complicated month where it will be hard going to achieve and difficult to believe expansion can happen. The other planetary changes include the dangerous Uranus entry into the Vedic sign of Aries on 8th April, and an exceptional number of possible past life and inspirational influences this month because of an exceptional number of planets occupying Nakshatras or vedic Lunar signs ruled by Ketu the South Node of the Moon: Sun, Moon and Mercury are in Ashwini Nakshatra, Saturn is in Mula Nakshatra, and Rahu (north node of the Moon) is in Magha Nakshatra. For these reasons and others, I shall be putting out quite a number of blog posts and newsletters to offer you the information and the skilled perception.

So, what will today’s Saturn turning Retrograde mean in your life?

Well, it all depends on whether you have planets that Saturn is transiting over at this time, what Houses in your personal individual birth chart Saturn will be transiting through, and what other transits may be aspecting the planets in your birth chart.

And it also depends on where your consciousness is at and how you experience Saturn. I do know people who are having wonderful breakthrough as Saturn transits over their in some ways insubstantial sun in the Gandanta Zone. I do know people who are having tremendous breakthroughs in their depth of thought and understanding as Saturn stations on top of their natal Mercury in their birth chart. Are you open to Saturn’s gifts???

Saturn’s gifts can include Golden Reaping and deep inspirational spiritual knowing. If you are looking for an astrology reading please visit our Astrology Shop

Indeed, Saturn’s transits are judgement!
Because equally I do know some people who are experiencing a lot of pessimism or even ill health or even professional downfall at the very same time. I sincerely suggest you ask me for an astrology reading where I may examine what the transit means for you and offer insight, encouragement and guidance. All my astrology readings include tarot. You can opt for wonderful reports. The readings are recorded and you have every opportunity for emailed questions/discussion afterwards.

And there’s a weird twist to this Saturn turning Retrograde tale. It actually happens in alignment to Galactic Centre. The ancient Vedic sages saw great spiritual energy emanating from this degree. They saw it as death and rebirth potential. The ruling deity for Mula Nakshatra in which this degree falls is none other than Nritti, the Goddess of death and destruction. And I do know so many people whose lives are being re-born at this time. And the rebirth is coming through inspiration, which I am glad to assist. And the rebirth always involves, in this case, hard work, planning and attention to detail and managing the mind and developing priorities.

And there’s another twist to this Saturn retrograde tale. The 27 powerful and beautiful Lunar Signs or Nakshatras are arranged into three groups of nine each. The transition point from Vedic Scorpio to Vedic Sagittarius is one of the three sensitive and dangerous Gandanta Zones (see below). The nine Nakshatras ending with Nx. 18 Jyestha, at the end of Vedic Scorpio are all orientated to Tams or materiality. However, the nine Nakshatras starting with Nx. 19 Mula are all orientated to Moksha. This means that not only is Saturn undecided and iffing and butting about which sign he is in until he finally settles in Sagittarius and Mula on 27th October 2017, he is also undecided about whether to give priority to Tamas or Moksha (materiality or spiritual value) and this means that all of us will be affected by Saturn’s energy of indecision and lack of clarity.

In my own case, I have some utterly expansionary other transits also going on at the same time. I have Jupiter opposition Uranus transit occurring in the heavens on top of the Moon – Sun opposition in my birth chart (I am a Full Moon birth). The Jupiter-Uranus transiting opposition is vastly breakthrough and expansionary, and at the moment it is depth and explosively so, because Uranus and Jupiter are each square transiting Pluto in the heavens. This is real power! And also in terms of the wonderful Vedic astrology predictive periods, I am in Jupiter predictive period (Jupiter Dasa) and given the position of Jupiter in my individual birth chart this has meant for me sudden vast and rapid understanding and loads of expansion. BUT – and here’s the rub in my case, Saturn is transiting on top of my Jupiter. So, what does this mean that Saturn is doing? Well, he is forcing me to ground my expansion. He is forcing me to dot all the I s and cross all the t s. so life seems hard going and requiring lots of diligence to keep the expansion going.

When Saturn has slower motion or is turning retrograde, we can all feel more pessimistic and ‘screwed down’ but if we have the gift of the perception of knowledge of the movements of the planets, this can assist us in managing our minds and consciousness.

When Saturn is Retrograde, all our long terms plans will grind to a halt. Saturn will grind away at all our negative patterns and habits: the more we resit this, the more unreal and unhappy we will be, the more we will be prepared to pass on the grim unhappiness and suffering to others in our life. Our structures can seem to weaken or will actually weaken. We may need to re-adjust our priorities and direction.

So, from these examples, you can see why it would be of benefit for you to have an expert astrology reading to maximise your realistic best success and show where strategisation in different areas of your life is now needed at this time. Saturn’s movement up to now in 2017:
Saturn entered Vedic Scorpio on 3rd November 2014.
He crossed into Vedic Sagittarius on 26th January 2017.

This crossing point from Scorpio to Sagittarius is one of the three sensitive, weakening and dangerous Gandanta Zones, which stretches two degrees’ either side of the sign transition from a water sign to a fire sign. In western astrology, this crossing point is 24 degrees western Sagittarius.
And Saturn has recently been slower and even slower, recently, remaining in 3 degrees Sagittarius in the Sidereal Zodiac of Vedic Astrology ever since 8th March.

Now, on 6th April 2017, Saturn at last reaches stationery and on this day, he turns retrograde.

Note that this Saturn station is in Mula Lunar Sign (Nakshatra) in Vedic Astrology, or 27 degrees Sagittarius in Western Astrology’s tropical Zodiac.

Saturn from now on moves retrograde. He enters 2 degrees Sagittarius on May 6th, then 1 degree Sagittarius on 24th May, then the first degree of Sagittarius on 7th June, and then he reaches 0 degrees Sagittarius on 20th June, crossing then back again for the final time into the end of Vedic Scorpio, into Jyestha Lunar Sign (Nakshatra).
Saturn does not turn direct again until 25th August 2017, by which time he has reached back just a further three degrees into Vedic Scorpio, to 27 degrees. That’s 21 degrees Western Sagittarius.

But on 26th October 2017, Saturn will again cross the Gandanta zone zero point and enter Vedic Sagittarius, to reach 7 degrees Vedic Sagittarius on 31st December 2017 and in fact he remains in Vedic Sagittarius until he crosses into vedic Capricorn on 24th January 2020.

How Strong are your Planets?

Michael Conneely

In my Astrology Readings and Astrology Courses, I can combine both Western Astrology with Vedic Astrology, and this gives a really vast and comprehensive declaration. It is possible to judge how a planet will manifest in our life in a very accurate way.

Vedic Astrology uses the Sidereal Zodiac, which is anchored to the (relatively) fixed stars; Western Astrology uses the Tropical Zodiac which is based on the position that Sun occupies on the day of the Vernal Equinox, the First Day of Spring, and so Western Astrology, being Sun sign based is attunes to our egoic psychological unfoldment, whereas Vedic Astrology declares more of our spiritual destiny and how that will unfold. In fact, you need both. And the contribution of the Outer Planets of Western Astrology: Uranus, Neptune and Pluto is crucially needed, as is the importance of Chiron the Wounded Healer in our Chart.

It is so helpful to have this sort of expert Astrological declaration about how each of our planets will perform in our life. And so you can book an Astrology Reading with me, see:  www.starwheelastrology.com

But it also wonderful to learn to do it for yourself, so you can enrol on one of my courses, for example:
Western Foundation Astrology Course:   www.enlightenedastrologycourse.com
Vedic Foundation Astrology Course: www.mastervedicastrology.com

But Astrological perception on its own is not enough. And we must certainly not fall victim to astrological formula and rule-bound repetitious utterance.  We so crucially also need to be open to our magic – especially where destiny has dealt us a more challenging than usual hand (where our soul has chosen that for this lifetime).

Regarding the question about strength of a planet in our Vedic birth chart: the key thing I learned on my second Vedic astrology course was to ask: strong for what?

When a planet is strong we absolutely need to be aware: ‘strong’ is not necessarily a boon: it can be a curse. Just for one example, it can make us too pushy until we learn to understand and heal it. Adolph Hitler had an Exalted Sun in Ashwini Nakshatra in Vedic sign of Aries. The Nakshatras are the wonderful 27-sign Lunar Zodiac of vedic Astrology. See my: www.nakshatrasadvancedcourse.com

LOOKING MORE AT THE FOUNDATION:

Having made the crucial introduction about the need to be flexible and intuitive about the use of the Vedic astrology formulae, I thought it would be a good idea to show the clear foundation for working out how strong a planet is in your birth chart:  planets are strong if:

In own sign
In sign of exaltation
In moolatrikona sign
When certain yogas are formed, such as Parivartana and so on.

And then there are other considerations like directional strength, and strength calculated across a range of Varga or ‘Divisional’ charts (The Vimshopak calculation).

And in Western Astrology too, which is very psychodynamic and encompasses psychosynthesis, there are also ways of calculating whether a strong or weak.

LOOKING MORE AT ADVANCED INTERPRETATION:

I do that is that having mastered the basics, we need to go on to examine the statements about a planet being strong or weak and ask ourselves what does this really mean??? You have learn to think intuitively and flexibly as well, when you are working out how strong a planet is in your birth chart.

For example, my Moon at 29 Pisces 58 could be considered ‘weak’ in that it’s rashi sandhi or edge of sign.
Now, my Moon is Lagnesha: i.e. my Moon Lord of my Cancer lagna/Ascendant in my birth chart, but some would definitely consider it a weak Lord for my chart.

Indeed, worse than this, my Moon is Gandanta: in one of the three dangerous and difficult points in the birth chart which are the transition points from Water signs to Fire signs. Moon being Gandanta means that mother will not be there for you (and she wasn’t: she put me in a Convent Orphanage – and then an adoption followed where I was treated as invisible, belittled and walked over time and time again).

BUT you have to realise that my Moon actually has immense strength potential.  It has the potential to achieve immense strength.

This is firstly because it is my Atmakaraka (or ‘soul indicator’).

And it is also because it’s Vargottoma. Vargottoma means a planet is in same sign in Rashi (birth chart) as it is in Navamsha (The 9th Harmonic or Divisional Chart, also called Varga Charts which make powerful declaration about specific areas of our life: in the case of the Navamsha, this is the chart of Soul and Marriage.

So, the point I am making is that horrible challenge was set for me by my Gandanta Moon, BUT – but enormous spiritual strength is also there if I can heal and access the magic.

The essence of that special strength is in terms of spiritual messages (good or hard) that will come all my life due to my Moon being Vargottoma.

So you can see that to ask the question: How strong is my planet? Actually, needs to be answered with a lot of learning and intelligence. And so, this is what you will get if you enrol for one of my Astrology Readings. And this is what you will learn to do for yourself if you enrol for one of my very caring Astrology Courses.

Let’s take a second example around the issue of strength:  Mars.

My Mars is really strong. It’s what’s called Raja Yoga in Vedic Astrology because it’s in Scorpio, the sign Mars rules.

But, there’s a twist to the tale: Argala!

Using the Argala system of Jaimini astrology, that strength is weakened or made very complicated because I have three difficult planets in the 12th House from my Mars (12th House is the House before the house occupied by my Mars. If you have planets in the 12th House from the planet you are assessing, this is Negative Argala (where some problem is created for the functioning of the planet).

And in my case, these three planets that are in the 12th House from my Mars are a deeply Fallen sun at 1 deg Libra, also Ketu (the South Node of the Moon) and Mercury (where Mercury is problematic as he is Lord of the 12th House of Loss as well as the third House of obstacles! – and he’s Retrograde!

So here we have a case of a strong Mars being made very complicated by negative Argala. Yet the gift of this problematic Mars is capacity for deep mystical focus and insight!

Like my Moon, my Sun, too, is Vargottoma (i.e. Sun is in same sign in Rashi as in Navamsha). So, this means my Soul will always be sending my Fallen Sun strong messages throughout my life, with the divine purpose to lead me to understand what a weak Sun means, and that will have the aim to spur me to learn how to strengthen, heal and empower my weak Sun. so in this way, to have this weak Sun is a spiritual gift, though a difficult spiritual gift. So here we have a case of a planet being weak is not necessarily ‘bad’.

My Sun is conjunct Ketu, the South Node of the Moon. Ketu is, of course, potentially undoing and dissolution, and with Ketu being conjunct my weak Sun, this is a very bad indicator for Father issues, because in Vedic Astrology Sun is Karaka (or indicator) for Father: I only met my father once and he asked to borrow money from me!

Never the less, my weak Sun makes backhanded strong gift: Having Sun conjunct Ketu and conjunct Mercury as the Lord of the 12th House, can give you openings to spiritual truth and can give you spiritual and visionary merger: the crock of gold at the end of the rainbow, as the Irish round here would say!
