Shravana Nakshatra Number 22

Michael Conneely

Shravana Nakshatra Number 22 / A Worldwide Nakshatra CourseMichael Conneely

Shravana Nakshatra is the 22nd Nakshatra and spans 10°00′ to 23°20′ Vedic Capricorn. This Nakshatra is ruled by The Moon and its ruling deity is Vishnu – The Preserver of the Universe. Its Symbol is The Ear, or an arrow. Its power animal or Yoni is the Female Monkey – playfulness, lack of seriousness. Its Motivation is Artha – material wealth. in terms of Gunas, Shravana is primarily Rajasic: desirous and acting on the worldly plane.

The Nakshatras are the truly wonderful 27-sign Lunar Zodiac of Vedic Astrology that is such a sure declaration as to our emotional nature, our consciousness, our life scripts, our relationships and health astrology. See my Worldwide Astrology Readings which always include study of your Nakshatras:

and also my superb worldwide Nakshatras course:
www.nakshatrasadvancedcourse.com

The Principal Stars: Altair. One of three stars known as Head of the Eagle, or the three footprints of Vishnu. The Sun moves through Shravana from around January 24 to around February 6 of every year.

Shravana Nakshatra Key Words: The Listener, learner, knowledge quest. Informed. Persevering and shrewd. Goal orientated, and this becomes dangerous if their goals are unwholesome. They need to tone down their ego and be careful to do the right things. Can fall prey to deception and bad advice. they often have organizational ability which can be used for good or alternatively for destructive or degenerative ends. Sravanas often carry a cunning but well-mannered, alert look. They are good communicators. Good in media. They do need to be careful of propagating falsehood.

Positively, Shravana Nakshatra are intellectual, wise, good teachers, counsellors, amicable but calculating. More negatively, they are gossips and restless. Typically, they have an historical approach, heritage, tradition, travel, pilgrimage

Shravanas typically suffer troubles and disappointment – trust issues, especially in first half of life. They are sensitive and easily hurt. Thye can have feelings of inferiority that can be overcome with age.

Its heavenly basis emanates for seeking, which results in the paths, through which there is connection of all things.

Shravana Nakshatra nature is to be fierce and severe in a balanced way.

The ideal best spiritual path of Shravana is the way of listening and the gaining of knowledge.  This knowledge should lead to meditation (not only to knowledge of trivial facts).  The disciple may eventually become a guru himself who passes on knowledge.  This, therefore, is a meditative constellation.  Listening to the guru leads to becoming one with him and to meditation. Each Nakshatra has a special power or Shakti, the power of Sravana allows for connection. Shravanas are often fond of travel and living in foreign lands.

Uttara Ashadha Nakshatra 21

Michael Conneely

Michael ConneelyUttara Ashadha Nakshatra 21 and Worldwide Nakshatra Course

Uttara Ashadha Nakshatra is one of the wonderful 27 Nakshatras:
The Lunar Zodiac of Vedic Astrology. Uttara Ashadha Nakshatra spans: 26°40′ Sagittarius to 10°00′ Capricorn (Dhanus to Makara),

Uttara Ashadha Nakshatra is quite an uncompromising energy. It’s Ruler is The Sun – power, vitality, strength, leadership; its ruling deity are The Vishwadevas – The Universal Gods.
Uttara Ashadha’s symbol: Planks of a bed – not so good for marriage, not so comfortable, but a place to rest.
The Power animal/yoni: Mongoose – viciousness, speed.
Uttara Ashadha’s Motivation is Moksha – spiritual liberation. Its Caste is: Kshatriya, Warrior. Its nature is to be sharp and dreadful in an active way.
Translation: Mongoose means ‘unchallenged victory’. the latter invincible one.
Stars: The Four stars of Uttara Ashadha are in Sagittarius.

UTTARA ASHADHA Key Words:
Enduring, invincible, aggressive. can storm its way forward. Dogged persistence to succeed. Responsible. A challenger with a forceful path, who can have luck in the nick of time. Can be a lonely enduring path. Much more introspective than that the preceding Nakshatra, the showy Purva Ashadha. More warrior than Brahmin. They can get totally involved in their task. Can penetrate deeply into knowledge. They have innate leadership qualities and usually affluence. They are Law-abiding and religious, genial. patient, righteous and responsible. Methodical, sincere and calculating.

Note that 5° Capricorn is the exact debilitation degree for Jupiter, so the light of knowledge can be obscured as the individual becomes obsessed with paying karmic debts.

Jupiter rules the Sagittarius part of Uttara Ashadha, but Saturn rules the Capricorn part. Jupiter is about expansion, but Saturn is about contraction – and Jupiter is at his greatest debilitation in the Capricorn part of Uttara Ashadha. There is an energy in the Saturn part especially, of moderation and practicality, and there may be not too much hope, idealism or expansiveness. It is maybe a place for endurance and concrete action rather than words. Yet there can be misplaced idealism. Every error someone with emphasis in Uttar Ashadha makes is amplified due to the enormous capacity of this nakshatra to be of influence in the outside world. The emphasis here can be on concrete achievement. Nerves of steel. Exaggerated attention to worldliness or to power structures. Accumulation.

Basically, Uttara Ashadhas can have innate great integrity, and can be sincere, committed, ambitious. They fight for what they believe is right and practise what they preach. They often make advisors. Uttara Ashadhas have great stamina and constancy. If they are not fully engaged in a project, they can get apathetic.

They can be pioneering. They can be noted for a fresh start, honest, great insight, ambitious, but sometimes can fail to carry through

Uttara Ashada Nakshatra shows how actions are always victorious over ideas. Sagittarius preceding can be lazy, and idealistic about something that is not good.

The ruling deities of Uttara Ashadha are the universal gods that guarantee victory. It is where Sagittarius becomes Capricorn where hopes and inspirations become tangible realities.

Negativley, Uttarashadhas can be rigid, unbending, upholding. Can get self-centred and stubborn. Can have losses in early life, but more success as their life progresses.

N.B. Love Scripts of Uttara Ashadha:
This is the one of the 27 Lunar Signs or Nakshatras that has no natural mate, and thus is usually a very difficult life-script for marriage. Can have difficulties in marriage or sexual incompatibilities. The Uttara Ashadha symbol is the planks of a bed: an austere bed, not made for comfort. The hard bed reflects your austere attitude to relationships.

They like control so their partners can feel pushed out. Can go for material comfort and success, but not pleasure. They show stubborn, self-centred approach and can develop lack of interest in relationship.

Typically, Uttara Ashadhas can be composed and stoical. They tend to keep an emotional distance from others. They can have difficulty expressing warmth and love. Thay can have a difficult relationship with their father and this colours how they view love.

If Uttara Ashadhas are involved in something that bores or stresses them, they can become dull and lazy. There is a self-indulgent streak within them that defies your otherwise austere nature.

Uttara Ashadhas have complex Sexuality. The animal symbol of Uttara Ashadha is the mongoose. There is no female mongoose in the Nakshatra animal signs. For Uttara Ashadhas, therefore, there are no ideal partners. Often they have no instinctive understanding of your sexuality. To fulfil their spiritual path, they can have to learn to compromise on their sexuality.

Typically, to hide their lack of sexual confidence and low self-esteem, Uttara Ashadhas appear active and bold. If they fancy someone you make a play for them. You are fast workers and can get involved very quickly. But once they are involved, it can become very clear that they do not know what to do with their lovers. Not having an ideal mate in the Nakshatra system hinders Uttara Ashadha’s sexual knowledge. They can be passionate yet cold, self-indulgent yet ascetic. The right partner is one who accepts their intrinsic spirituality and makes them comfortable with their sexuality.

Uttara Ashadhas hate secrecy or deception so you set high standards for their partners and if they fail, can be very aggressive and will not wait till they have rooted out their dishonesty. They need to avoid becoming suspicious for the sake of it. And as they are plain-speaking and direct, they may not understand harmless wiles and sexual play from others. it can be that they can’t be bothered and choose to lead the life of an ascetic. In a woman’s chart, this person may opt for a practical marriage or marriage for money.

find their partners are too ascetic, boring or not much fun, especially if planet occupies pada 2 of Uttar Ashadha.

Favorable: Uttara Ashadha earns a good living; believes in charitable giving; brave; does well in foreign countries; good conversationalist; enjoys music and dance; good organizational abilities; ambitious, motivated to accomplish things and develop their careers; likes old and mysterious things; could be skilled in astrology

Unfavorable: Uttara Ashadha cane be self-seeking, aggressive; worried; capable of hurting others; makes up stories; deceptive in that they will either say what is not so, withhold information, or understate matters; don’t like to be told what to do; argumentative; too talkative; select mates who often are very different in personality and outlook

The symbol of Uttara Ashadha, a tooth, is a sharp thing and analogous to this Uttara Ashadha has a keen intellect, which enables him to see through the wrong ways of the ego.  The elephant is an animal with a great, positive strength.  A person in whose horoscope Uttara Ashadha plays an important role is challenged to use that strength.

Purva Ashadha Nakshatra Number 20

Michael Conneely

Purva Ashadha is the 20th Nakshatra in the wonderful, powerful and surely declarative 27-sign
Lunar Zodiac of vedic astrology: The Nakshatras.

The Nakshatras are the truly wonderful 27-sign Lunar Zodiac of Vedic Astrology that is such a sure declaration as to our emotional nature, our consciousness, our life scripts, our relationships and health astrology.
Purva Ashadha Nakshatra spans: 13°20′ to 26°40′ Vedic Sagittarius. Purva Ashadha is ruled by Venus and its Deity is: Apas, the Water God. Its symbol is: The Elephant’s Tusk, or the fan, and its translation is: The Former Unsubdued. Purva Ashada Nakshatra means “early victory”. Its Power Animal/Yoni: Male Monkey. Its motivation is: Moksha. Its Ayurvedic Dosha: Pitta, and its Quality is: Fierce.
The Principal Stars of Purva Ashadha Nakshatra are: An- Naaim. PurvaAshada lies entirely within the Constellation of The Archer: Sagittarius. It consists of two stars in angle to the third star: Kaus Borealis and Kaus Australis are in angle to Kaus Media. Hence the shape of the Archer’s bow or the fan.

Purva Ashadha Nakshatra Key Words:

Strength and Victory. Invincible: they smash through anything in their way. Proud, independent. Obstinate and can’t be influenced by others. The fan denotes superiority. Here’s a list of key words that Purva Ashadas need to often learn about so as to purify and heal their natures:

They have an intense conviction that they cannot lose and they have the ability to come out on top – and a times this can be misplaced or positively malign for the effect they will have on others. it is not an impatient energy; but it is implacable – and can of course be unrealistic or inappropriate. Fearless and controlling. Social climbers. Oratorical, obstinate and aggressive. They are full of their own opinions and judgmental

They are blind to their own flaws and in self-denial; they are often creative and talented. And they are noted for getting supported through many friends.

They are orientated towards Moksha or spiirtuality, but in their search for Moksha, they are over-expansive and their overexpansion and opinionated nature can crush or disregard others.

Their Pitta orientation makes them fiery and forceful, inspirational and charismatic.

Their rulership by Venus can so often tend them to pursue illusion and deception, and because this couples with their mental aggression, the resultant mix is unstoppable.

They tend to develop influence, ambitious and fearless, always improving, ambitious to improve their life situation.

They have deep emotions. They are philosophical, confrontational, angry, harsh.

As regards spiritual path, this Nakshatra can be formulaic and implacable, devotional but dogmatic. They can have a deeply philosophical or religious nature, but they do need to strip away their ego otherwise their spiritual path can crush others.

They have an ability to influence the masses.

Purva Ashadha can bring fame, wealth, fertility and wisdom.

They can have flashes of inspiration and insight. There can be phases or purification and regeneration. The meaning of life can suddenly be revealed to them. They need to maintain purity, but often a false purity becomes a supreme and destructive agenda.

If you would like to learn more about Purva Ashadha, and all the other 27 Nakshatras of the Vedic Lunar Zodiac, this is so worthwhile. Vishakha Nakshatra 16 and worldwide Nakshatra Course

Michael Conneely

Vishakha The Vehement Nakshatra 16 and worldwide Nakshatra Course

Vishakha Nakshatra  spans 20°00′ Vedic Libra to 3°20′ Vedic Scorpio. It’s nature is triumphant and vehement, but when the Vishakha Nakshatra person has learned their life lessons, they can become the ethical stalwart who holds together families, groups and situations.

The Nakshatras are the truly wonderful 27-sign Lunar Zodiac of Vedic Astrology that is such a sure declaration as to our emotional nature, our consciousness, our life scripts, our relationships and health astrology.

See my Worldwide Astrology Readings which always include study of your Nakshatras:
www.starwheelastrology.com/buyanastrologyreading
and also my superb worldwide Nakshatras course:
www.nakshatrasadvancedcourse.com

Vishakha Nakshatra planetary Ruler is: Jupiter, who offers purpose and divine guidance
The Ruling Deity or Devata is: Agni, the God of Fire and Indra, the King of Gods and god of War, storms and rainfall. The Divine energy of transformation.
Vishakha’s Symbol is: The Triumphant Arch.
And most appropriately, Vishakha’s Power Animal or Yoni is: The Male Tiger (would you mess with this one???)
The Principal Star is: Az Zubanan – the Claws of Scorpio.

Vishakha Nakshatra – Keywords:

The poisons of past lives can be stored here. They can be aggressive, dictatorial and utterly ruthless. Obsessional, introverted and secretive. Fixation and decisive dedication. Their obsessions can burn them up and harm those dear to them. They are quarrelsome with loads of suppressed anger and hurt, bitterness and resentfulness. They are very easily angered! Their eyes are always fixed on their goal(s). Sometimes the goals are unwholesome. They are insatiable and the grass can always be greener on the other side!
But Vishakhas can slowly grow in influence and at their ideal best self-realisation, they thus ripen. They have to show Patience, persistence and determination. There’s a sense of ploughing and cultivation in their lives.

Favorable: Clever; has respect for intelligent and spiritual people; enterprising; self-satisfied; determined; gets things done; can appear soft but is very powerful underneath; sexually alluring; a good mate in marriage; benefits through marriage, traveling, and through change; mathematical talent. These people can be cultured and with dignity, influential and honest. Vishakhas at their best show good manners and become influential people. They can be religious or spiritual.

Unfavorable: Overly talkative; nice until they get what they want; negative, speaks negatively about others, fault-finding; not open to advice; offensive and not easy to like; greedy, deceitful, aggressive, domineering, quick to take offense, militant, suspicious, possessive, envious; feels obstructed and taken advantage of by others.

Key Guidance: For someone in whose horoscope Vishakha plays an important role, much depends on the goals he sets for himself.  If these objectives are self-centred, he may become unbearable for other people and may head towards the wrong direction.  Vishakha is always totally devoted in order to reach his goals.  He has great courage and ambition. The path suitable to Vishakha is the way of the warrior, like that of Krittika.  The Vishakha has to find out for himself whether his goals actually serve all of humanity or solely his own good.  The outcome of this will determine how this constellation will manifest itself: as a curse or as a blessing.

Big Saturn Transits 2017 Really Important Guidance also including Uranus and North Node

Michael Conneely

On Midsummer Solstice 2017, the day, I am writing this Blog Post, there is a big Saturn transit.

Saturn Transits 2017

The effects will last until the end of November 2017.

In fact this is one of three big Transits in 2017, also including Uranus and Rahu the North Node of the Moon

For the second of three times in 2017, Saturn now crosses one of the three difficult, dangerous and very sensitive Gandanta Zones in Vedic Astrology. Though do also note that these Gandanta zones can also be inspired as well as difficult, dangerous or sensitive!

So, today, Saturn Retrogrades from the Vedic sign Sagittarius to the Vedic sign Scorpio. Saturn is at 0 degrees Vedic Sagittarius, then 29 degrees Vedic Scorpio. This is 24 degrees Western Sagittarius

On 26th January 2017, Saturn transited forward from vedic Scorpio into Vedic Sagittarius, but then he turned retrograde and today he re-enters vedic Scorpio, and will not get back into Vedic Sagittarius again until 26th October 2017.

So, this means, first, that today and the week or so either side, as Saturn actually makes the Sagittarius-Scorpio sign transition, you may be feeling very sensitive, depending on your particular birth chart details.

And do note ABOVE ALL, there is something much more MAJOR: we will all be called by Saturn to finish off. often MAJOR, DIFFICULT UNFINISHED OFTEN KARMIC BUSINESS AND ISSUES, that were raised all the time when Saturn was earlier transiting through Vedic Scorpio, in other words from 3.11.2014 to 26.1.2017.

These three Gandanta Zones are the two degrees either side of the three transition points from a Water Sign to a fire Sign in Vedic Astrology. So, these are: Scorpio/Sagittarius, Pisces/Aries and Cancer/Leo. Remember the closer the planet is to the zero point of the actual transition, the bigger the Gandanta effect on the planet (natally or by predictive transit). And note that as I am writing this Blog Post, Saturn is actually at zero degrees Vedic Sagittarius. The exact Gandanta hinge. Let’s now look at all three huge Gandanta Transits of 2017, and try to note what we should do about them.

The Three Gandanta Transits 2017:

There are three major Gandanta transits in 2017: I here assess their effects both in terms of the 12-sign Vedic Sidereal Zodiac, but also the wonderful 27-sign Vedic Lunar Zodiac: The 27 Nakshatras.

The three big Gandanta transits of 2017 are:

1. Saturn transits three times in 2017 through the Scorpio/Sagittarius Gandanta. As I said, in terms of the Vedic 12 Sign Sidereal Zodiac this Gandanta spans Scorpio/Sagittarius. But in terms of the 27-sign Lunar Zodiac, the Nakshatras, this Gandanta spans Jyestha Nakshatra (at the end of Vedic Scorpio) to Mula Nakshatra (at the start of Vedic Sagittarius). This is a severe gandanta known as Abhukta Mula Gandanta.

2. Uranus is transiting the Pisces/Aries Gandanta. In terms of the 27 Nakshatras, this Gandanta is the Revati – Ashwini Gandanta. This is 24 degrees Western Aries.

3. Rahu, The North Node of the Moon  transits into the Cancer/Leo Gandanta with two eclipses! In terms of the 27 Nakshatras, this Gandants i the Ashlesha – Magha Gandanta. The is 24 degrees Western Leo.

Here are the details of the three gandanta transits of 2017:

1. Saturn transits the Scorpio/Sagittarius Jyestha/Mula Gandanta zone three times in 2017. and Saturn will still be in this Gandanta Zone in November 2017.

And, as I said, in terms of the Vedic 12 Sign Sidereal Zodiac this Gandanta spans Scorpio/Sagittarius, but in terms of the 27-sign Lunar Zodiac, the wonderful Nakshatras, this is the transition today covers the space in the heavens from Jyestha Nakshatra (at the end of Vedic Scorpio) to Mula Nakshatra (at the start of Vedic Sagittarius).

This is a severe gandanta known as Abhukta Mula Gandanta.

Importantly, note that Jyestha Nakshatra is the end of the second materially-orientated ‘Tamas’ group of Nine nakshatras, but being on the transition point into Mula which is the first of the nine Sattvic or spiritually orientated Nakshatras, this raises a torsion challenge from Saturn. He has to change his duty form Tamas materiality to Sattva spirituality, and we will all of us feel this torsion.

Saturn crossed the difficult Gandanta Zone between Scorpio and Sagittarius around 26th January 21st June. He’s now re-entered Scorpio. But he will cross back into vedic Sagittarius for the final time on 26th October 2017.

This meant that when Saturn transits into Mula/Sagittarius in January 2017, there was a tide towards Sattva/Spiritualit, yet the Tamas or materiality tide will run now again from June to October 2017.

But is also means that, very importantly people will find that things left unfinished from Saturn’s transit through Scorpio from 3.11.2014 to 26.1.2017. and often these things will be very, very tough, because Saturn is Lord of Karma, and he is a severe planet. He seeks to call us to our spiritual meaning and destiny, not caring, of course, if this is tough!

And note also that there will be a Saturn-Ketu/South Node Exchange of signs or ‘Parivartana Yoga’ from 21st June to 18th August, when Saturn will be transiting Scorpio as the Ruler of Aquarius, and at the same time Ketu will be transiting Aquarius as the co-ruler of Scorpio. So, this could mean big effects in your life depending on the areas of life covered by Scorpio and Aquarius in your birth chart: what Houses they are in your birth chart.

Note that Saturn ceases his current retrograde and turns direct on 25th August 2017 when he is at 27 deg Scorpio 04.

So, what does it mean if we have a planet in one of the three Gandanta zones???

Note that for you natal Moon to be in one of the Gandanta Zones, in your birth chart, will have a very tough effect on your life as regards Mother issues; the nearer to the zero point sign transition point the Moon is the worse will be the effect in our lives. Indeed, to have Moon in the Gandanta normally means that it will be the case that the difficult Mother issues can’t be resolved, so your karmic challenge is to learn to live with them.

Note especially that for a woman to have Moon in the Scorpio-Sagittarius Gandanta Zone, which is called the Abhukta Mula Gandanta Zone, this is very difficult for marriage or for mothering issues, and for effects on how she will mother any children she may have or adopt, as this position for the Moon in her own chart seriously means that her Mother will not be there for her, her mother will not be there to mother her. And she may very definitely pass it on – unless she heals, if she can heal!

Indeed, if it’s a case of New Moon in the Abhukta Mula Gandanta Zone, this means it’s even worse, because both Sun and Moon are there in the Abhukta Mula Gandanta Zone, and there are very difficult father issues for the person there as well as lack of a mother who has a settled enough mind to mother.

But note in addition to these meanings for the Moon in a Gandanta Zone, that for any planet to be in any of the three Gandanta Zones in your birth Chart, means that there will be a very serious challenge to the solidity and nature of that planet in your life.

But please note that so long as that planet is not the Moon, then you can definitely do a lot to heal and empower the planet, and even better, you can learn to utilise the sensitive inspiration side of the Gandanta energy to fuel that planet’s healed expression in your life.

This is why in my Astrology Readings, and also in my Astrology Courses, I always teach astrology that avoids formula or fatalism, and is always geared to healing and empowerment.

Let’s move on to the Second Gandanta Transit of 2017: Uranus:

Uranus transited the Pisces to Aries Revati/Aries Gandanta Zone in 2017, first entering it in May 2106, and Uranus will still be at 0 deg Aries in January 2018, and won’t finally leave the Gandanta Zone until March 2018.

It was Uranus entering Aries/Ashwini 84 years ago that led to the burning of the Reichstag which was followed by the rise of Adolph Hitler that led to terrible World War.

I am not saying that everyone will handle the energy of Uranus entering Vedic Aries/Ashwini Nakshatra in the way that Adolph Hitler did, but some definitely will try to handle it that way. And i pray that coutries where there’s fundamentalist religion do not have a guru or prophet arise, as happened with Germany in the run up to World War 2. A Prophet could unite currently fighting fundamentalist states. It would just like August 24th  410 AD when the Roman Empire was wiped out because the Huns, the Visigoths and the Vandals united and they crossed the Rhine (which had frozen over) marshed South, destroyed the City and ended the Roman Empire. Is the West now also waiting for the Barbarians as imperial Rome was?????

But as i said, not everyone handles the energy of Uranus entering the Vedic Sign of Aries in the way Adolph Hitler did. And, indeed, when Uranus reached my natal Moon at 29 Pisces in 2016, I suddenly experienced revolution and emigrated!

Uranus will occupy the Gandanta degree four times:
28.6.16
31.8.16
8.4.17
2.1.18 (just short of the zero point)

But also note most importantly, there is also a very important transiting Jupiter- Uranus opposition: Jupiter in Libra will oppose Uranus in Aries, exact, on these three dates:

  1. December 27, 2016 at Western 20 degrees Libra-Aries (Vedic 26 Virgo to 26 Pisces)
    2. March 7, 2017 at 22 degrees. (Vedic 27 Virgo to 27 Pisces)
    3. September 27, 2017 at 27 degrees (Vedic 3 Libra to 3 Aries).

Uranus-Jupiter is a blessed exapnsion energy if it’s on top of one of the planets in your brith chart, and it’s good for the sign it’s in in your birth chart.

And now Gandanta Transit 3 of 2017: Rahu, the North Node of the Moon:
Rahu/North Node enters the Leo to Cancer gandanta. In terms of the 27 Nakshatras, this is the Ashlesha/Magha Gandanta. Tough note that the actual transit sequence is: Magha/Ashlesha. This is because the nodes have backwards/retrograde motion in the heavens. And this Nodal Gandanta crossing occurs on 10th July 2017. Rahu is caught up in the gandanta eclipse of 7th and 21st August 2017.

Rahu then enters vedic Cancer 18th August, finally leaving the last two degrees of Cancer which it enters, the Cancer/Leo Gandanta zone on 24th September 2017

BUT THIS GANDANTA CROSSING HAS VERY BIG COMPLICATIONS: There are eclipses there on 7th August 2017 and on 21st August 2017.

In the eclipse of 7th August 2017, Rahu is deep in the Gandanta at 0 Leo 32.

In the eclipse on 21st August 2017, Rahu is still deep in the Gandanta at 29 degrees 48 Cancer. Sun and Moon are at 4 deg Leo and Mars is conjunct Rahu at 26 deg cancer

AND. as i said, THIS GANDANTA CROSSING HAS BIG COMPLICATIONS FOR DONALD TRUMP AND THE USA: This eclipse Sun/Moon New Moon is right on top of Donald Trump’s Mars at 3 deg Leo and his Ascendant at 6 Leo. What will happen to him and the USA?

And this Gandanta Crossing and eclipse means that Kal Sarpa Yoga will re-arise. It was present during 2016 and into January 2017 together with two other terrible energies which saw British Brexit, The Death of Jo Cox and the election of Donald Trump in USA. Kal Sarpa yoga means that all planets are caught up divisivley to one side of the Nodal Axis. The first Kal Sarpa Yoga for 2017 began around 28.9.2016 with this first Kal Sarpa event ending 20.1.2017.

After the Gandanta crossing of the North Node, Rahu, I refer to above, Kal Sarpa Yoga re-arises a second time on 17.9.17 and holds in force until 8.1.18.
Kal Sarpa Yoga will continue on and off until 2019, as Jupiter and Saturn are on one side of the Rahu – Ketu axis, in fact it will continue until 14.12.2019 (date depending a little on definition). So, whenever the faster planets are also one side, Kal Sarpa Yoga will be created.
And by weird stroke of destiny, Donald trump has Kal Sarpa Yoga in his birth chart!!!!!!

Kal Sarpa Yoga creates divisiveness, paranoia, unrest, uncertainty and insecurity, and problems of management of the Mind.

Of course, it is so important to note that a more spiritually advanced individual can handle the Kal Sarpa energies, and so (as often is the case in Vedic Astrolgoy) a curse is found to be a blessing!

Spiritual Note:

In fact, the Gandanta Zones are portals where we can pass from this material realm and see that it is actually not as substantial as we thought, that it is in fact Maha Maya, the Great Illusion, and that the true reality lies beyond: that the true reality is the Shiva-Shakti realm, endless creative mating where the universe is sustained. Or it can be likened to Lord Vishnu dreaming in ecstasy dreaming new universes in and out of being. Or it can be likened to the dance of lord Shiva Nataraja, who dances encircled in flames, creating, sustaining, then destroying, universes in and out of being as he dances on the supine form of Aparasmara: the demon of ignorance!

Abhukta Mula – special footnote: The Gandanta at the end of Jyestha, as well as the Gandanta at the start of Mula which is the next Nakshatra, is a very bad place to have the Moon and is traditionally seen as a barrier for a woman to get married. I have known cases where certainly woman with Moon in Gandanta very much should not have got married, both because on what they do to their husbands, and because they can destroy their children and then look good nursing the wreckage. See more detail about Abhukta Mula above. This difficulty is created by the problems the woman’s mother would have been having at the time of the birth of her daughter, and because the daughter would have to go through predictive period change or ‘Dasa change’ very young: too young to be able to cope with it.

Gandanta special Note: HEALING AND EMPOWERMENT It is crucial that the foregoing observations about Gandanta placement of planets must not be used in a fated or formulaic way, such as harms so much Indian or western-received vedic astrology. All these instances are prompts for us to heal and empower ourselves, and this is the foundation of my astrology readings and courses. I work with my partner Maggie Pashley who is qualified in countless worldwide healing modalities.

Uranus in the Astrology Birth Chart

Michael Conneely

Michael ConneelyIn this post Michael Conneely discusses the role of Uranus in the Astrology Birth Chart

MEET URANUS I set great store by developing what in Tibetan Buddhism and tantric Hinduism is called ‘clear appearance’ of a god, and Uranus is a facet of the divine that plays an inescapable and totally crucial role in our life, and how exactly we will receive him into our destiny is mapped by the Sign he occupies in our birth chart, the House he occupies, and the energies he forms in aspect to the other planets. Developing this ‘clear appearance’ of the god energy, as well as developing ‘clear appearance’ of each planet as he manifest in our astrology chart and in our life and destiny is crucial and invaluable perception. My astrology always combines Western Astrology (for example psychodynamic and evolutionary western astrology) with Vedic Astrology (which offers vast and peerless declaration of our incarnational life purpose and issues in its unfoldment. And as a matter of principle, all my astrology is geared to healing and empowerment in its orientation.
See my worldwide Astrology readings website: www.starwheelastrology.com and my worldwide astrology courses: www.mastervedicastrology.com www.nakshatrasadvancedcourse.com www.advancedvedicastrologycourse.com and www.enlightenedastrologycourse.com. And all my astrology is geared to healing and empowerment dimensions. If you wish you can consider the healing offered by the modalities offered worldwide by Maggie Pashley. See: www.maggiepashley.com. Here is a video presentation of Uranus and his energy, and below that a lengthy presentation of Uranus as face of god, planet and Awakener in your life:

URANUS –  POSITIVE
The great Awakener.
The Great Liberator.
The Initiator of New Order.
The Pioneer.
The Promethean spirit.
The Logos Principle: abstract thinking.
Transmutes fragmented acquired knowledge into comprehensive synthesis.
The Hierophant: veils that which it is essential to veil and hides that which must be discovered.
The iconoclast.
Transmits knowledge at the right time.
The purpose of Uranus is to create inner balance transcending dualism.
The Magician – conscious manipulation of energies building an ideal world: He manifests destruction where there is resistance.
Uranus bursts through Saturn’s Ego-defenses, block and repressions.
Prometheus stole fire from heaven.
Uranus gives us urge to act out excitement, freedom and experiment.
Radical, permanent change.
Sometimes Uranus may be experienced only on an inner plane: as Transfiguration – the light of the Universal mind shines through.
Uranus breaks all rules.
Uranus can manifest as Magic (causes change to occur in consciousness).
Uranus is Intuitive: SUDDEN alterations of consciousness.
Uranus is not limited in time and space. He manifests as taking a different perspective, pure genius.
Uranus is fresh, new, unheard-of, seemingly crazy ideas, ‘this might work!’
The non-conformist, the eccentric, the rebel, the freedom fighter.
Uranus is independent, wired, restless. He moves with electric rapidity and detonating excitement. He is shock, a doorway opened to Heaven.
Uranus is at the leading edge: creativity/technology.
Uranus ruptures secrecy/deception.
Uranus is intensive shocking bursts of planetary electromagnetic energy.
He was discovered as a time of Democratic Republicanism (discovered 1781).
In some ways, Uranus is analytical, scientific, soaring creative imagination.
He throws off personality shackles. The butterfly emerges from the chrysalis.
Uranus represents forward-looking positive thinkers.
Uranus orbital astronomy reveals its unorthodoxy: he ‘rolls’ along his orbit at 90 degrees to the rotation angle of every other planet in the solar system.
Uranus is the spiritual warrior who quests beyond Mars’ vision. Venus is a route to Uranus. Jupiter and Saturn prepare us for Uranus’ ‘death’ or ‘birth’ trauma.
He is fated unconscious change.
Uranus is not limited in time and space.
Uranus is Transfiguration – the light of the Universal mind shines through.
He breaks all rules. Magic happens and causes change to occur in consciousness. He’s unpredictable, Intuitive and brings lightning flashes of ‘abnormal’ SUDDEN alterations of consciousness which may be experienced only on an inner plane.

URANUS – NEGATIVE
We fight Uranus’ change for fear of ending up worse. Negatively he manifests as obsessiveness, eccentricity, lack of balance decisive clarity. He has an inhuman energy of cold objectivity or highly-strung, nervy, over-charged persistent will. He is impersonal detached – even icy. He is cool rationality rather than warmth or sympathy. He is instability. He is niggling pursuit of the exciting – rejection of the familiar.
He can lead to social isolation, multiplicity of fragmented relationships, neglect of commitments, nervous illness, emotional repression, intolerance.
He is argumentative, erratic, unstable, destructive, disruptive, disorganizing. There’s experiment but fanaticism. There’s radical willful obstinacy.
Uranus brings permanent change with utter disregard for tradition.

THE URANUS SATURN POLARITY
If we resist Saturn’s slowly grinding away at our internal obstacles, Uranus will step in and totally shatter them. When Uranus intervenes during a transit, this is a chance to smash Saturn’s restrictive life scripts and get on track with your life. Uranus’ overwhelming enthusiasm for the future counterbalances Saturn’s value given to the past.

URANUS PEOPLE
Uranus people find difficulty working for others. Their powerful rebelliousness leads them into constant difficulties with authority figures. They need plenty of elbow room and will simply not tolerate a restrictive job setting.

They can be highly original in manifesting their gifts to the world. They prefer to shatter all restraints and put the pedal to the metal in terms of their creativity. They are perhaps inventors with lightning fast ability to conceptualize complicated ideas.

In shadow form, they are hot-headed rebellious loose cannons; their knee-jerk reactions making it difficult for their brilliance to manifest.

URANUS LOVERS
Uranus Lovers love diversity in relationships. They enjoy relating to all kinds of interesting people. They are highly tolerant and supportive. They are only attracted to partners who are highly liberated in their outlook. Often marry more than once. May refuse to settle down with just one person.

Shadow Uranus, here, simply uses the partner for gratification of their sensual needs, moving on when they grow bored or tired. They crave a thrill a minute to maintain intensity.

URANUS MAGICIANS
Uranus Magicians always feel excitable or anxious deep insider restlessness drives them through the changes in their lives. They are the inner psychic daredevils who love the excitement of exploring the very edges of their own psyches and revel in cutting-edge speculation or study.

In shadow form, these people lead disorganized lives. They forget to pick up the pieces and their lives are a complete shamble.

URANUS WARRIORS
Uranus Warriors are the most active of rebels. Assertively refusing to conform to anything. Feel claustrophobic when confined in any way. These people love the explosive thrill of speed and acceleration. This powerful inner urge causes them to take too many risks in their lives. They go through life on the seat of their pants. They are drawn to coffee and buzz accelerators. Inner urgency makes them workaholics.

Shadow Uranus, here, is prime candidate for burn-out, driving themselves in such a ruthless manner, ignoring warning symptoms of fatigue or pain. A serious illness may show up after years of ignoring symptoms. They alienate others because of their extreme individuality and refusal to compromise.

Uranus Astrology 2017 to 2018:
As I write this post, Uranus is about to enter the Vedic sign of Aries, where he will stay for the next seven years. Uranus enters the Vedic or Sidereal Zodiac Sign of Aries on 8th April 2017. This is 24 degrees in the Western Astrology Tropical Zodiac.

Uranus continues to move forward until he reaches 4 deg Vedic Aries on 2nd August 2017 when he turns retrograde.

Uranus only turns direct again on 2nd January 2018, by which time he is back at 0 deg Vedic Aries (0 deg 27 mins).
And as a very special note: note that the two degrees’ zone either side of 0 deg Aries, is one of the three ‘Gandanta Zones’. The Gandanta Zones are places where Vedic water signs dissolve into the first flicker of a Vedic fire sign: here, the transition from Vedic Pisces to vedic Aries, and these zones are unstable, fraught and immaterial, but can be locus of inspiration.

It was Uranus’ last entry into Aries 84 years ago, that was marked by the burning of the Reichstag and the rise of Adolph Hitler and Europe’s descent into world War II.

This time so far, we have Brexit and the rise of Donald Trump.

But note that this is also the time of the highly expansionary and successful Jupiter- Uranus opposition transiting in the heavens, where transiting Jupiter and Uranus are both in T-square to tectonic transiting Pluto. See my Blog Post: blog.starwheelastrology.com/jupiter-jupiter-transits-2017-jupiter-uranus-opposition

Uranus Astrology and Astronomy:
Uranus is the astrological ruler of Aquarius.
Uranus is a freezing gas and ice giant.
He has 27 Moons.
Orbital period 84 years.

Uranus in the Houses of the Western Astrology Birth Chart – very brief indications:

Uranus in House 1
Uranus in 1st House may be characterized by sudden outbursts of energy, quick comprehension, restlessness, ambition, fanatical fight for ideas, the urge to strive for reforms, stubbornness, blind zeal, violence. You could be the dreamy enthusiast or the utopian.

Uranus in House 2
You will have to approach the whole area of money and resources in a different way from the ordinary. It is a challenge to rise above the collective’s traditional value systems. Uranus will question patterns assumed from one’s family or the culture. Might actually shun material security and possessions. Could be inconsistent values. Money might only be valued for the freedom it can bring or to support radical causes. Money will be earned in unusual ways or in a highly individualistic endeavour. Impractical or impulsive with money. May take risks with money that may pay off or may leave you bankrupt. Could be brilliant or unusual ideas on how to earn money.

Uranus in House 3
Unusual, intuitive mind. Exploratory, curiosity-driven nature. Needs new horizons. Your mind will be progressive and revolutionary, and this placement would only study the past if background foundational data were needed. Can be eccentric or unconventional. Freethinkers. Base their experiences on direct experience and scientific fact – not influenced by the opinions of others. You will look for your own ways to understand what is happening to you. You may well be less unique in you mind than you prefer to believe. Impersonal and impartial in evaluation of ideas. Grasps concepts as a whole. Operates via non sequiturs, making quick connection between unrelated topics. Lateral (non-linear thinking). Can be erratic thinkers. Can be impractical. Structuring ideas is a weak point. You may need to reorientate the activity of your analytical mind towards a more unifying structure of synthesis, of drawing together a multiplicity of fragments into a cohesive whole.

Uranus in House 4
You may have experienced your father as a free spirit, inventive, unusual and original, or as invasive or unpredictable or unstable. He could have had a mental breakdown. He could have been the victim of erratic and harmful circumstances, of this could indicate that he had a sudden accident with major consequences, or that he suddenly left or died. Uranus in 4th. House indicates an unusual home life, in some way. Perhaps there were lots of moves of house which you found disruptive. This is more likely to be the case if Uranus is afflicted or in a mutable sign in the horoscope. Or, perhaps there were many disruptive changes in your domestic situation. Or, there could have been one shattering major change half-way through your childhood. The atmosphere might have been full of excitement, where people were free to come and go as they pleased and the atmosphere was experimental and revolutionary and prone to change. Perhaps the house was deeply unconventional or frequented by lots of close friends of a bohemian or roving nature, or it was the centre for meetings of a socially-orientated movement: humanitarian, political, religious or occult. It is usually a sign that something disruptive occurred: disruption could have been extreme.

Uranus in House 5
Uranus in 5th House brings dissatisfaction or melt-down with romantic relationships. There could be unconventional artistic or creative abilities.

Uranus in House 6
Change, challenge and opportunity in your life is associated with areas of work, service and health.
Work: Uranus abhors repetition: therefore you may experience disruptiveness at work or lots of changes of job. You need real stimulation and interest in any work you do. In childhood, this manifests as lack of persistence in lessons, fluctuations in concentration and application. You will need as much freedom as possible in work, and would certainly resent a high degree of supervision. Health: Your health can be a source of personal change. This isn’t an easy placement for personal health. Your physical body may have periodic illnesses. Nervousness and irritability could feature: resulting in ill-health. There can be an interest in new, alternative or unusual forms of healing, or experimentation with diet and in the area of the soul-body-mind link. You could gain relief from illness based on a holistic approach – and train in these approaches.

Uranus in House 7
The great danger is that you may attract, or be attracted to Uranian types, who may well not satisfy the needs of other aspects of your chart. Partners who exhibit the positive manifestations of Uranus might be original, detached, freedom-seeking, exciting, radical, iconoclastic, intuitive, ‘crazy’, eccentric, rebellious, wired and restless. They might open a doorway to heaven, sexually experimenting, analytical, soaringly creative.
Partners who exhibit the negative manifestations of Uranus might be:
evil and cynically detached manipulative dark magicians, obsessives, over-charged, maniacal, icy, impersonal, unstable, perverse cultivation of the alternative at all costs, pursuing a multiplicity of fragmented relationships, erratic, disruptive, disorganizing, willful, obstinate, intolerant, extreme, unpredictable, perverse, perverted, rough.

Uranus in House 8
The 8th House indicates what we give and receive in life: exchanges. This includes what exchanges occurring relationship, in joint finances. It also signifies matters of death and (re)birth, psychism and magic.
There may be disruption, changeability and eccentricity within sexual involvements. There may be sudden unexpected changes in fortune – gains or losses, through inheritance, marriage, business partnership, insurance, taxes and corporate finances.
8th House as psychic & spiritual matters: Interest in the occult/psychism is possible, as is telepathy or interest in life after death. This can be a profound, clever and cunning mind.
Identity: You may have a compulsive need to be different, asserting your identity in an unconventional, non-conformist manner, rejecting social expectations to be predictable, responsible and controlled by the conditioning process. Stability and security may be seen as a trap, akin to death. You demand the right to follow your own impulses and oppose any restrictive conditions or laws. You may radiate cranky jarring doubting and control over others.

Uranus in House 9
Positively, this placement indicates advanced ideas in matters of religion, philosophy, teaching and higher education. These people will depart from the orthodox in these matters. They will have Utopian ideals. There can be inspired insight into social change. These people may travel suddenly or to unusual places in search of enlightenment., stimulation, adventure or revolution.
If Uranus is afflicted, there can be cultism and emotionally-inauthentic guru-attachments. Cab be the rebel without a cause, rebelling for the sake of it, out of unconscious reasons to do with relationships with parents.

Uranus in House 10
I’m not sure that the steady nine to five job, working for forty years in the same organization will really suit you if you have Uranus in 10th. house! You may be prone to sudden, apparently unpredictable, changes of fortune or status.

Uranus in House 11
You will have many unusual friendships. You will develop your revolutionary insights by membership of unusual radical groups. You will be drawn to exciting and unusual groups, but Uranian impersonality and divorce from flesh and emotions will provoke crises in friendship and group involvements until you learn to stop going into them with the wrong motivations, and until you also learn to befriend people, in addition to using them for what their minds or insights or knowledge or abilities or insights have to offer.

Uranus in House 12
Natally Uranus in 12th House can mean such things as approaching the unconscious in an unusual or inventive way, difficulty in settling down and putting down roots, due to a deep, compulsive fear of relinquishing your independence. At times, people with Uranus 12th. House need to retreat from life, and might even attract into their lives accidents illnesses or incarcerations of some sort to achieve this.
It will involve  habits of self-evasion that you will have become accustomed to in an attempt to cover inner splits.
Afflicted Uranus in 12th House is the illusionary medium, based on neurotic motivations, dabbling in negative psychic phenomenon, instead of allowing intuition to develop naturally, producing confusion and delusion. Mental problems could develop.

Uranus Square Nodes of the Moon:
When Uranus squares the Moon’s Nodes, Rahu North Node and Ketu South Node, the karmic pressure is to achieve liberation from past restrictive traumatic levels of conditioning, and a crisis in individuation. The person will usually be blind to how their conditioning imprisons them, and this results in a block to the expression of their individuality. There’s a need to reintegrate former illumination that has been lost or was blocked.

Your Astrology and your Time of Birth: Rectification

Michael Conneely

Michael ConneelyTHE VALUE OF ASTROLOGY:
If we do have an as near as possible birth chart, there is so much we can accurately see and state, so as to understand ourselves and so as to understand our lives, heal ourselves, heal our lives.

But before I go into the issue of correct time of birth, I want to mention another big question about the value of astrology: the other big question is what we do about this supreme astrological perception?

Well, perception itself is useful, it can encourage us to change and to mend our negative life scripts and karmas and our negative behavioural patterns.

But perception can get us so far.

The real value of astrology when it is expert, is to point us towards Healing and Empowerment, and so it can enable us to seek and achieve our healing, and it can point us in the right direction for healing and empowerment.

I work also with my partner Maggie Pashley, both of us working worldwide on-line and also in our healing Centre in the West of Ireland. There are so many sophisticated and powerful healing modalities that can heal the patterns and scripts highlighted by our astrology. See her website: www.maggiepashley.com.

So, this expert astrology can point us to understand the true nature of the spark we incarnated to achieve this time. It can define our assets and our strengths, and it can define those parts of ourselves that are enemies to this and can impeded us. So: yes, then it must be used as a pointer to and a basis for skilled healing.

But correct astrological declaration, with all its potential follow-on valuable uses, does depend on having a birth chart that as much as possible is based on a correct time of birth.

And so, this brings us to the issue of rectification of Time of Birth:
RECTIFICATION:

People ask about rectification and its value.

Well, the more our birth time is not correct, the more our astrology becomes incorrect in its potential to make supreme and accurate statement. In fact, if there is an error in time of birth, this means that the position of Ascendant or Rising Sign will be wrong in your Western Astrology birth chart by an amount of degrees dependent upon the number of minutes the tob is incorrect, and therefore the cusps or ‘start positions’ of each of the Houses will be wrong.

And in your Vedic Astrology birth chart, dependent on the amount of time of birth error, the definition of the first house may also be wrong and therefore the definition of the subsequent Houses. In Vedic Astrology, there are Varga or divisional charts in Vedic Astrology, each referring powerfully to specific areas of life, and these are sensitive to tob error, especially the higher divisional charts.
Also, the Moon can be in wrong position in the charts if there is any substantial error in tob, as the Moon moves quite rapidly through the heavens. And understanding the Moon is key to the nature of our consciousness and its management, and to our Mother issues.
Also the start and end dates of your Vedic predictive periods (dasas) will begin to be incorrect if there is error in tob.

So, definitely, it is best to have accurate time of birth:

Let me now give four examples of time of birth issues in more detail:

  1. Your Ascendant or rising Sign:

For example, the Ascendant or ‘rising sign’ which is the basis of defining our First House (and therefore all the subsequent of the 12 Houses) will be in the incorrect position. The twelve Houses make declaration about what will happen in each defined areas of our life. If the Houses are defined wrongly, then the declaration of the affairs of life of each House will be wrong. The more the time of birth error, the greater the error in defining the Ascendant and the Houses, and thus the greater the error in defining the life. In Vedic astrology, the definition of our first House is of course so important as it sets the keynote for our bodily features and the strengths and issues with which we will project into the world. The Ruling Planet of the first House assumes such a special importance for us to define its special nature and characteristics.

  1. Your Predictive Age Points:

I use predictive Age Points in my psychodynamic Western Astrology: an individuation Age Point which charts the unfoldment of our understanding of our psychology and our psychological subpersonalities, and our unfolding ability to manage and heal these, and also a Nodal Age Point which depicts the whispering to us from our soul from the astral at each point in our life. If the time of birth is wrong, then the dates of the ‘hits’ of these two age points, and the nature of their messages will be incorrectly defined.

  1. Your Vedic Astrology Divisional or Varga Charts:Vedic Astrology uses Divisional Charts’ or ‘Varga Charts’ in addition to the birth chart (called the Rashi Chart). Each Varga Chart is a harmonic chart derived from the birth chart. For example, the Navamsha or 9th Harmonic chart makes invaluable statement about our marriage issues and the messages our soul will send to us in this life as our life unfolds. One example of the use of the Navamsha is a woman who has a bad Jupiter in her birth chart indicating that she will attract a bad husband, but she may have a wonderful Jupiter on her Navamsha chart indicating the potential to attract a very good husband, for example when her Jupiter is activated by the wonderful Dashas, the wonderful Predictive Periods of Vedic Astrology.
  2. Your Incarnational Life Purpose:
Vedic Astrology has a most wonderful system for defining Incarnational Life Purpose based on the position of the Nodes of the Moon in the birth Chart, as analysed by Sign, House and Aspect, and also as analysed by their position in the wonderful Nakshatras: the 27-sign lunar Zodiac of Vedic astrology. If your time of birth is wrong, you could well make a statement that the Nodes of the Moon are in the wrong House. The definition of the position of planets can get very exact in Vedic Astrology, for example because the 12 Signs are divided into Navamshas and other divisional charts, each with a subtly different nature, and for example because the Lunar Signs, the Nakshatras are divided into Padas (or quarters) each with a subtly different nature within the Nakshatra or lunar sign). If you use an incorrect time of birth, you will state that the planets are in the wrong divisions of these powerful declarative divisions of each sign.

So, for these reasons, you can see that it can be a good idea to have your time of birth rectified when you have an astrology reading or if you embark on an astrology course.

SO, HOW IS MY TIME OF BIRTH RECTIFIED?

So, this brings us to the question of ‘How is my time of Birth Rectified?

I use two methods:

A. Kinesiology:
A quick way is to tap into our intuitive knowing and use ‘muscle testing’ or ‘kinesiology’ and I have definitely found over the years occasions when this has been subsequently verified, either because the tob has subsequently been discovered, or because the muscle-tested tob has been born out in that it generates correctly timed predictions.

B. Formal Rectification:
The formal method of rectification is two-fold:
a) You list a number of different big life events and then the astrologer to erects different charts for different tobs and sees which chart predicts the events at the correct time that they actually happened.
b) The Astrologer looks at the Houses created by different tob, and says what each different tob declares about the affairs of that house, and then you to say which is the most accurate. For example, if two tobs under study offered different definition of 4th House = Mother, then one could say that ‘time A’ declares that the native will have a very difficult mother, but that ‘time B’ declares that the native will have a very good mother, and so the astrologer can say from this which which is the more correct birth time.

Formal rectification is not easy and it does take time. You would need to send me a list of say seven to ten big life events. I would try out different tob charts, and ask you questions.

SO, WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE?

Well, I think you will agree with me that a rectified time of birth is worth having, because otherwise we cannot be sure of being able to tap into the invaluable perceptions offered by a correct and expertly interpreted birth chart, nor can we benefit from correctly-based predictive astrology. And if our astrology is incomplete or inaccurate it can’t be such a powerful gateway to its potential for invaluable Perception, and we won’t have such clarity for seeing how we can heal or empower ourselves and thus create a purposeful, happy, healed and powerful life.

So, may I suggest  that you could go through the rectification exercise with me so as to achieve the wonderful asset of having as correct as possible la birth time. This is of great value in itself: now – and at so many times in our life.

But there is another way you might like to benefit from having a rectification, and that is to study my Vedic Astrology Course. I call my course: Master Vedic Astrology. Its website is www.mastervedicastrology.com it’s teaching approach is very clear. In an expert way, we go from one planet to another, and so we study first the sun, then the Moon, and so on down the list of the planets. In-between the planet studies, you study astrological interpretation techniques. Note that your planet studies and your techniques studies are always with reference to two charts: yours and mine. This way we keep the communication caring and authentic. In addition, you are welcome to include Western Astrology Crossover and I recommend this, either in small measure or more fully. In addition, you are welcome the include the Visionary Astrology techniques I describe above. In addition, of course, all the declaration is used not to create inert formula, but to generate within us perception that can lead to our transformation, and to link us to healing and empowerment awareness and techniques that we feel we may need or benefit form so as to make the maximum success and happiness of our lives.

I also teach a Western Astrology Course which majors in psychodynamic and evolutionary western astrology, and basically follows the same caourse format and principles as my Master Vedic Astrology Course.

So, you could either enrol just for me to work with you to complete a Rectification Exercise as described above which would be invaluable and fascinating and would leave you with all the benefits of a rectified birth chart. This costs £100 (GB Pounds) and you can email me to arrange this.

OR as a special offer, you could enrol on my Master Vedic Astrology Course or my Enlightened Astrology Course, in which case I could include in the course the Rectification Exercise at half price.

So, all blessings to you and I look forward to hearing from you

The supreme value of Astrology with Healing and Empowerment

Michael Conneely

Michael Conneely

Michael Conneely

I often receive emails from people who are rightly expressing the damage they have experienced from their family of their life situation, and they are asking how astrology can help them.

Because I too have suffered from for example adoptive (and birth) family, this raises the issue of what work do we have to do to free ourselves and heal ourselves so that we can more ourselves out of the damage and become the spark of achievement that we uniquely incarnated to become.
We should not live in reactive hate and hurt, nor use the horrible people or events as an excuse or reason for living in hurt and failure, tempting though it is to remain in our outraged hurt victim scripts. We have such a similar agenda and challenge here, and in fact the success of our lives is what is at stake.
And so this is related to the question: what is the value of astrology?

THE VALUE OF ASTROLOGY:
From our astrology birth chart, there is so much we can accurately see and state, so as to understand ourselves and so as to understand our lives, and therefor so as to heal ourselves, heal our lives.
I have studied with nine teachers in both western and vedic astrology. On the one hand, I have come to reject the formulaic ranting or the fated declarations that can characterise traditional cultural Hindu vedic Astrology and its often egoic teachers, and the useless traditional remedies and the uncritical and unaware prescription of mantra. On the other hand, I have also come to reject the astro-babble that can characterise the worst in Western Astrology, and its ungrounded waste of time psychobabble.
But I can recognise that with deep study, one can come to amazing insights using the many charts and techniques of Vedic Astrology, and one can come to invaluable insights using the enlightened psychological awareness of western astrology, for example psychodynamic western astrology and evolutionary astrology.
However, I then have to go one to say firmly that such analysis and declaration is not at all useful unless it is geared to using the perception for transformation. TRANSFORMATION.
It is just not utilising the declaration of astrology to its full value, nor fulfilling the needs in our life, unless the declaration of expert astrology is then used for changing the way one manages one’s consciousness and thus the way one understands and lives one’s life.
Basically, when one goes deeply into Vedic astrology, one can make such invaluable and supreme diagnoses of how each planet will manifest in our life, and of how one’s planets treat each other in one’s chart – and therefore in one’s life, and also of what planet will especially manifest predictively in one’s life at a particular time in the unfoldment of one’s predictive astrology, of what exact energy each planet will bring in to one’s life natally or predictively.

This must be used for our healing and empowerment.

It must not be used fatedly and passively.

I advocate, and include, in my Astrology Readings and in my Astrology Courses, the crossover of vedic and Western Astrology. This is so that the peerless declaration of Vedic Astrology of our incarnational life purpose, and the precise declaration about each planet’s energy in our lives (and how our planets treat each other) is linked to, and enhanced by, understanding of the energies of the outer Planets in our lives: the Gods of Change: Uranus, Neptune and Pluto, and also Chiron our Wounded Healer. These planet’s energies and meanings came into the human consciousness when they were discovered, and must be taken account of.
Another special feature of my Astrology, especially in my Astrology Courses in both Western and Vedic Astrology, is that, indeed, I see great value in also going on to include the potential for Visionary Astrology. I see the need to ‘see’ the nature of each planet in his ‘pure state’ as a god, as a refraction of the Divine (for example using visionary, journeying or meditation techniques). And secondly I see the great need to also ‘see’ how each planet manifests, not in his divine state, but in our astrology charts (Western and Vedic) – and therefore how each planet manifests in our lives. In other words we also need to develop clear appearance of how we experience each planet through the filters of Sign, House and Aspect.

And how we experience each planet is of course often terribly different from their divine or pure state!

But the big question is what we do about this supreme astrological perception?

Well, perception itself is useful, it can encourage us to change and to mend our negative life scripts and karmas and our negative behavioural patterns.

But note that perception can go so far!

The real value of astrology, when it is expert as described above, is to point us towards Healing and Empowerment, and so thus it can enable us to seek healing, and it can point us in the right direction for our healing and empowerment.

This expert astrology can point us to understand the true nature of the spark we incarnated to achieve this time. It can define our assets and our strengths, and it can define those parts of ourselves that are enemies to this and can impeded us. So: yes, then then astrology must be used as a pointer to, and as a basis for: healing.

Pluto in the Astrology Chart Pt 2

Michael Conneely

Michael ConneelyPluto in the Astrology Chart

Please first see my Pt 1 Post about the Astrological Pluto: Pluto Mythic Keys.

Now here is more information on the Astrological Pluto:

PLUTO ASTRONOMY

Pluto’s remote orbit is the dark boundary between the Solar System and the Transcendent: the last outpost. Pluto and its Moon, which is actually half its size, revolve endlessly around a common point which is located somewhere between them in space – icy methane snowballs performing a unique and mysterious dance as they travel their far-flung orbit. Pluto is the 9th Planet of the Solar System and he takes 248 years to complete one revolution of the Sun.

Pluto’s average distance from the sun is nearly four billion miles. It also has the most elliptical and tilted orbit of any planet, and at its closest point to the sun it passes inside the orbit of Neptune, the eighth planet.

Pluto was discovered on 18th February 1930 by Clyde Tombaugh in Lowell Observatory, Flagstaff, Arizona, at 16.00hrs. He was orbiting at 17 deg Cancer in the western astrology tropical zodiac, which is at 24 deg Vedic/sidereal Gemini, in Nakshatra 7 Punarvasu (ruled by Jupiter) in Pada 2 (ruled by Taurus). The Nakshatras are the wonderful Lunar Zodiac od vedic astrology.
N.B. The chart for his discovery is at the foot of this Blog Post.

PLUTO – LIGHT AND DARK SIDES

Pluto was the God of the Underworld, who handed out good or evil in proportion to the motives of the person who approached him.

Pluto’s good side is buried treasure, unimagined riches, light out of darkness, order out of chaos and New Life – REBIRTH!

Pluto’s dark side is a terrible world of rape and destruction: a power-seeking abuser.

Pluto’s is the world of:
Domination and submission
Aggressor and victim
If Pluto is approached with sincerity, rebirth will follow out of suffering and darkness.
If Pluto is approached with falsehood or defensiveness, he destroys.

PLUTO IN THE NATAL CHART

The Natal position of Pluto in the chart is the key to where the individual’s process of rebirth will begin. This is where Pluto has set up His altar in our chart.

The affairs of this house are not to be taken at face value. We have to search for hidden meanings and causes and underlying unconscious motivations.

Pluto pushes deep from within us, impelling us to move from outworn phases of life. Neptune slowly dissolves the rigidities of the old structure, Uranus offers lightning-flash mind-realization, but Pluto’s eruption is total obliteration: change or die!

The Natal House Pluto inhabits is where we have to face something rotten in us, such as:

overwhelming passions
obsessions
lust for power
abusiveness
raw sensuality
jealousy
greed
hate
rage
savagery
driving unconscious forces which control us
primal wounds
needs to posses and devour
sexual conflicts
intense emotional attraction and repulsion
taboo
murderousness
rape
violence
frustrated desire
A Black Hole which devours our energies and from which, though unacknowledged, many of our actions flow.
PAIN
EXTREMES: the very worst and the very best of human behaviour.

We can not be whole until these are:-

brought to the surface
transmuted
and properly reintegrated into the psyche.
Through the upheaval Pluto brings, here, disowned and banished parts of ourselves are reclaimed to the consciousness and the Light.
We gain access to untapped resources and strengths. Energy futilely used hitherto in repression, denial or projection is freed for positive use.
We learn that we can not master, let alone transform, that which we repress, deny, disown or project.

Pain and crisis is thus used for rebirth. Here we can potentially discover and exhibit our greatest strength, nobility, purpose and dedication. The rebirth that Pluto offers is primarily focused in levels of emotion, mind, self-image or identity.

Pluto usually has to force His change upon us, because we are unready and unwilling. Our resistances simply add to the stress we experience, once Pluto is unleashed.

Pluto’s natal position, subject to specific House characteristics, also indicates where will operate in our lives, the following:
+ (Plus)
Transformative rebirth
Providence
Invisible force and powers
Force majeure
The will or wish to exercise Power
the manifestation of unconscious powers
ruthless frankness
extraordinary energy
catharsis
liberation
redemption
inner death
sacrifice (of old ways that are dear, habitual, &c – spilling blood on the Altar)
Entering into the World of Meaning, in faith
Facing the truth of one’s own nature
Releasing the vitality of the well-springs of life
The Grail gives renewal to the Fisher King

– (minus)
Inner Fates, leading blind and unconscious humans to situation of crisis
‘driven’, ‘inevitable’ courses of action
ignorance leading to great suffering
the urge to influence the masses
abuse
ruthless use of force or coercion
taking vengeance on one’s abusers
the abused becoming abusers themselves
fanaticism
agitation

It is significant that when Pluto was discovered in 1930, the West was in the grips of severe depression, with people committing suicide rather than face loss of riches; Europe was dominated by Dictators: Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin and Franco. Gangsterism and the Mafia were on the rise. The world was poised between two World Wars; depth psychoanalysis was in its heyday with Plutonian emphases on sex and death (Freud), power (Adler) and transformation (Jung).

And there were two further huge oppositional but linked manifestations of newly discovered Pluto:
Atomic fission and the atomic bomb
Mahatma Gandhi and passive resistance

Albert Einstein worked out a close correlation between a considerable number of stages in the. development of atomic warfare and the actions of   the Mahatma  – for example his salt march aimed at liberation of India from the grip of British Imperialism, exactly coincided both with the discovery of the planet and a crucial step in the manufacture of the atomic bomb: two ethically opposite manifestations of the planet’s vibration.

On another plane, Pluto can manifest as wealth: the plutocrat, corporate raiders, tycoons, financial moguls, rich politicians – total and absolute concentration on material wealth and power without the development of spiritual or material wealth. These people are characteristically intense brooding introverts, focused on our culture’s symbols of power: sex, money, possessions. Their needs are founded in the world of complexes and insecurities and are a tragedy for the individual concerned. Indeed Pluto transits are linked both to the making of fortunes and the wiping out of riches.

Labour strikes involving masses of people, atrocities and mass-production in industry also fall under the domain of Pluto in Mundane Astrology.

MEDICAL ASTROLOGY

Pluto rules the reproductive organs, the prostate, the cervix, the rectum and the bladder, the lower stomach and the lower spine, as well as some allergies in medical astrology – so that a Pluto to Mars transit could manifest as Prostatitis.

TRANSITING PLUTO

A transit of Pluto may be interpreted as Karmic working.

To understand the meaning of a Pluto transit:-

note the Sign Pluto is in

note the House Pluto is in

note the meaning of the planet Pluto is aspecting

note the meaning of the house that planet is in

note the meaning of the aspects that planet makes to other planets

take into account the nature of the aspect Pluto is making to the other planet:

A trine or a Sextile is more gentle. We are more in touch with that which needs to change

With a conjunction, square or opposition, we offer more opposition to needed change.

Dreams can be a vital key to understanding or resolution.

Understand the meaning for you, personally.

Pluto transits externalize as actions, relationships, jobs, involvements, &c, the people and the situations we attract

PLUTO TRANSITS TIMING:

Pluto Transits are usually spread over a year or two. They usually have three phases:
First direct
Retrograde
Second direct
(and there can be a further retrograde and direct)
Their effect usually begins to be felt when Pluto is 4 or 5 deg off exact.
The after effects continue for at least up to 3 deg after exact.
The effects last for the rest of the life

The three phases might be experienced as:
The descent of Erishkigal
recovering from and understanding the trauma
succeeding in transformation and rebirth, hope renewed, wiser and more powerful

During a Pluto transit, the opportunity is given for the destruction of old, unhelpful, damaging patterns of thought and behaviour.

You will feel a strong impulse to eliminate old emotional baggage which is preventing growth.

You may be faced with an intense, concentrated, ruthless power.

A Pluto transit is a major change period with long-term ramifications. You have to work out what a Pluto transit means for you individually, at that point in your life. Have the courage to meet the challenge. Develop the awareness. Do the healing; make the changes … from which: rebirth will follow – light will replace darkness

control your wishes. think positively. don’t submit to pessimistic interpretations of a Pluto transit. don’t be fatalistic

Go for gold.

Pluto the Dark Lord Pt 1 Mythic Keys

Michael Conneely

Michael ConneelyThe energy-principle that is Pluto is power and deep psychism; intensity and rebirth, or negatively: control and abuse.

People with unaspected Pluto in their birth chart can come over very powerful to others and not know it; or they can be unable to access their power and even be abused. And both of these can be true at different times in the life.
It is a good start to approach Pluto through contact with his myths:

The Pluto – Persephone: Pluto Myth 1

This is really important key to understanding the energy of the planet Pluto. Persephone was an innocent girl picking Narcissi in the fields. Pluto, the Dark Lord, Lord of Hades desired her. The earth gaped at her feet and a chariot drawn by black horses breathing fire erupted from the depths. The God swept her into his arms and took her to his own dark realm and said he would make her his Queen. So, by transforming sexually, Persephone came into great power and became Queen of the underworld. But her mother, Demeter, the Earth Goddess, mourned and missed her daughter, to such an extent that Demeter ceased from her work of fructifying the Earth. Nature began to die. Humanity faced annihilation.

And so, the humans petitioned the Gods who sent Mercury to do a deal with Pluto, the upshot of which was that Persephone would only reign in Hades half the year, but could return to her mother Demeter the other half. So, while her daughter is Queen in Hell Demeter still mourns, and it is winter – but for the other half of the year, Demeter has her daughter back and it is summer.

And the point is that there are immense buried riches and power to be found in growing and transforming and contacting the underworld of the unconscious. The only way Persephone could transform was by being abducted to meet her destiny.

But Pluto is not only power and transformation; it is deep psychic perception and intuition.

Unaspected Pluto people usually had to learn very early on that things were not as they might seem in the home. In their childhood, they developed deep growling awareness. Their antennae are always out; and they, themselves, can be masked out of fear – and even deny what it is they fear. But they don’t also fear it: they seek it! Ultimately, they seek it so as to face it and deal with it and become whole.

Hercules and the Slaying of the Hydra – Pluto Myth 2

Another myth that is relevant to understanding of Pluto, especially Pluto in Transit, is The Slaying of the Hydra, from The Labours of Hercules.

Just as you feel you have resolved matters with a Pluto transit, a new dimension of challenge and pain can manifest.

The Hydra had nine heads. As Hercules cut off one, the rest just kept coming. In the end, Hercules lifted the Hydra out of the stagnant swamp it dwelt in, exposed it to the light of day, and killed it. After the nine heads were cut off, Hercules gained the jewel the Hydra had been hoarding.

So, it is that our feelings must not be left festering, but need to be brought out into the open and held in the light of consciousness to be acknowledged and resolved, for liberation from pain to be won.

Blind instincts and drives must not be left to fester in the stagnant swamp, but must be brought out into the open.

Ishtar and Erishkigal – Pluto Myth 3

A third myth that is relevant to a full understanding of the descent into darkness that is involved in a Pluto transit is this myth from Babylon:

Ishtar, radiant Queen of Heaven descended into the Underworld to attend the funeral of the husband of her sister Erishkigal, Queen of the Underworld.

As Ishtar descends, she is forced to give up her clothing and possessions, and is eventually hung up on a hook – utterly brought low.

So, great is Erishkigal power in her grief and rage that none of the Gods can do anything to save Ishtar.

Ishtar remains abandoned and defiled.

The world is bereft of light.

Eventually, the solution the darkness is found. The Gods fashion two little mourners who can slip unnoticed past the guards of the Underworld.

The Mourners win Ishtar’s return to the skies because they realize that what Erishkigal needs is to be listened to. Erishkigal needed her grief and rage to be understood and honoured.

This is one of the early challenges of a Pluto transit.

The Erinyes – Pluto Myth 4

The fourth myth needed for a full understanding of Pluto is that of the Furies (the Erinyes).

The Furies were born when Cronos (Saturn) castrated his father Uranus who had become a tyrant, imprisoning his children back in the womb of his consort Gaia, because of his dissatisfaction with them.

Cronos castrated his father with a sickle and where the seed of the dying Sky God fell on the Earth, it produced the terrifying Goddesses of Vengeance called The Furies.

(In fact, the Greeks knew it was ill-omened even to mention their name so they referred to them ass the Eumenides – The Kindly Ones! instead – to placate them!).

The Furies pursue all those who offend against the Laws of Nature, who sin against the family, who live some aspect of their life that is somehow out of true, who live contrary to their True Selves. Then, during a transit of Pluto, The Furies will pursue them, to manifest as illness.

Pluto is the avenger of Natural Law. The Furies are His instruments.

Oedipus was pursued to the ends of the earth by the Furies for killing his father and sleeping with his mother, albeit he was not aware of the identity of either parent when he committed these actions – but the point was Oedipus and those associated with him had tried to outwit his Fate.

And now some notes about my approach to Astrology:

  1. Visionary Astrology:

In my Astrology Courses and Readings, it can be powerful and beneficial to go on to develop a ‘visionary clear appearance’ of each planet. You can do this in two ways:

First you can study a planet in order to more and more deeply understand his energy and manifestation, and thus develop a ‘clear appearance’ of the pure nature, energy and appearance of each planet. This uses techniques employed by Tibetan Buddhism to develop clear appearance of a god, so that you can relate to the god, and even ‘call in’ the god when needed. Similar techniques are in the tantric roots of Hinduism.

Second it is so powerful to also develop clear appearance of each planet as he manifests in your birth chart. To do this you develop clear appearance of how each planet manifests through the filters of the sign he occupies, the house he occupies, and the aspects he has to the other planets.

Due to our karmas and scripts, the lessons our soul chose for us to work with I this life time, and the talents our soul sought for us to shine with this time, how a planet manifests in our birth chart (and therefore in our life) can be a massive distortion or modification of the pure nature and energy of the planet.

It is so useful and powerful therefore to do these two exercises of developing Clear Appearance of each Planet.

  1. Perception, Healing and Empowerment:

Vedic Astrology should not be used in a fated or formulaic way. It is disempowering to do this. The whole point of the peerless declaration of Vedic Astrology is actually to offer us better perception of our scripts, so that this perception alone may cause us to modify them, and can act as a trigger for us to heal them.
We can go on from the development of perception to healing and empowerment techniques.

  1. Vedic Astrology – Western Astrology Crossover:

It is a principle of all my courses and readings that I offer crossover between Vedic Astrology and western Astrology, or between Western Astrology and Vedic Astrology if the student wishes for this.
I feel that the fullest declaration of Astrology stems from this crossover. This is partly because Vedic Astrology provides a clear destiny statement, through its use of the sidereal zodiac anchored to the eternal and the ‘fixed’ stars. And it is partly because Western Astrology can provide a sophisticated psychological analysis and statement based as it is on the Sun-sign tropical zodiac which moves against the background to the ‘fixed’ stars by a degree every 72 years, based as it is on the moving location of the sun on the first day of spring, the vernal equinox.

I feel Vedic-Western crossover is also necessary so as to include the energies of the outer planets that were discovered and entered the human consciousness in modern times: Uranus, Neptune, Pluto and Chiron.
